Is this design ok
 in  r/factorio  4h ago

you still need to filter spoilage because the nutrients can spoil and back up the system, hatching the eggs

3

What systems in Factorio are better made than in other similar games?
 in  r/factorio  4h ago

And they also only work straight, and cannot go in L shape?

i mean same as dsp? you get some weird angles sometimes but its essentially straight-but-slanted most of the time

Another issue - you can't put items in machines by one?

isnt that what those inserters you abhor can do : ^ ). also put it on the cursor and right click in the fuel spot with the machine open. alternatively, put fuel on the cursor and mouse over it (no machine interface open) and press z

However the biggest issue I had so far is that basically after every 2 upgrades you research you can as well destroy everything you built and start from scratch

playing with the tools available is something to have fun with, but if it works why are you tearing it all down? an automated system with assembler 1s will still work with assembler 2s. Can we see a picture of your base because im wondering why you think its mandatory to take apart something that works if youre feeding material in and processing it automatically, even if its a little slower than you think it needs to be.

as for comparing to the others of the genre,

DSP- I've played to the end a few times across multiple versions. it will make your computer sweat way before factorio does. the biggest ick for me is the grid on spheres system. its very ambitious but kinda a pain in the ass when it comes to blueprints.

satisfactory- scale is so much more tedious. with how long it takes to set something up to produce at scale, even though you need a very finite number of it to complete milestones, its easier to just set up a couple machines and wait for them. very much lacking an endgame but has a more definite endpoint

Can I be succesful if I don't use stuff like combinators/beacons?
 in  r/factorio  1d ago

Combinators you can probably go without and be fine but what’s the issue with beacons? They’re definitely simpler than trains and arguably even assemblers. They are very set and forget. Ratios aren’t a problem, just make more of what you want more of and chase bottlenecks if you want it faster

Mouse over the crafter and tell the class what quality % it says

Craft only if ANY item is low on stock?
 in  r/factorio  3d ago

Just have a chest for each of them? Really feels like you’re complicating it. Buffer some bricks before they get to concrete, buffer some concrete before reinforced, buffer some reinforced?

Gleba - Keeping my seeds safe?
 in  r/factorio  3d ago

Before you have productivity you have to process every fruit or you go net negative on seeds

Yo dawg! I heard you like Kovarex
 in  r/factorio  3d ago

Why rare tho? Also subbing half of those rows for rare beacons with rare speeds probably 10x’s output

2

Just started, is this good progress?
 in  r/factorio  3d ago

I wouldn’t loop the science belt like that, give each pack its own half of the belt and it’s fine it it’s not constantly

Bold of you to think we won’t pass a $30 pack this year

Steam felt bad after beaconing anything, foundries are power hogs

I feel like a self balancing asteroid loop might be an ambitious first project

If your Jungler has smite, and a Jungler Starting Item, they do NOT need leash. Just cover the jungle entrances, and play for level 2 advantage
 in  r/leagueoflegends  4d ago

Sadly anything below diamond “no leash” means standing under the turret or bot lane bush until you get invaded then dying to a level 2 gank

rocket fuel/solid fuel heating towers on nauvis?
 in  r/factorio  4d ago

I was looking at the math of yumakos out of curiosity and at max productivity one rocket of the fruits is like 30,000 plastic. Not that it’s ever worth it especially with fusion but I wonder what the rocket fuel math is like for jelly nuts.

Also, technically, you can reach 300% without any prod modules, eventually

Practice with oil. All you need is “read contents” and “enable/disable”

2

How many hours did you have when you beat the game for the first time ?
 in  r/factorio  5d ago

Probably like 20-30. Only went up to purple with no yellow. Purple came from killing biter nests

Space science on ships?
 in  r/factorio  8d ago

Mine travels between Gleba and nauvis. It makes white science and red magazines. Overflow goes to making calcite for the two planets. I have such an excess that I might just make LDS and blues for the Gleba rockets on it as well
