Any Gen Z Know How to Read Here?
 in  r/generationology  18h ago

They aren’t.

I work in banking, particularly around our mobile app and online services. Millennials are by far the most tech savvy. Gen Z often struggles with anything outside of basic app functionality. They weren’t raised with a need to troubleshoot or figure things out when electronics stop working. They were raised on apps and app stores where if things don’t work, you wait for the devs to push an update to fix it.

My gen Z siblings couldn’t tell you half the stuff my old millennial brother could and he was always the least tech savvy of us.

ULPT Request: I am being sued and need options to hide a car during this.
 in  r/UnethicalLifeProTips  1d ago

The funny thing is giving you tips on how to try to do what you say would be the real unethical thing by any commenter. Because it would give you false hope that it could work.

It will not work. I promise every trick in the book has been tried when it comes to hiding assets. A car is one of the hardest to hide.

Lidar is a great sensor. You are also arguing that camera alone is better than camera+lidar together. Which is just simply not true.

Rick Sanchez (Rick and Morty) vs Superman (DC Post-Crisis): Round one, random encounter. Round two both have two weeks prep, Superman has Batman to help him prep. Who wins?
 in  r/superheroes  1d ago

Superman wins round 1. Assuming they remember previous rounds and know about the rules of the upcoming rounds: Rick is a big enough asshole to actually do what needs to be done for round 2 and 3. He has no reservations about psychological torture of both Superman and Batman like another commenter said. Rick wins best 2 out of 3.

Any reason I shouldn’t refinance for a 0.6% drop in this case?
 in  r/Mortgages  1d ago

A lot of people. But even if you don’t end up holding it for that long, it is still hedging against things getting worse or just being stagnant for years to come.

SGA doesn’t get free throws from flops and loses against someone who also didn’t get free throws. Wild concept.

ESPN’s Pat McAfee and others amplified a false rumor. A teenager's life was 'destroyed'
 in  r/ESPN  2d ago

If your entire argument is based on how he “should act” then there isn’t much to debate here. Is he a piece of shit for it? Sure, that can be argued.

But people aren’t defending by his actions morally speaking. They are saying he didn’t commit a crime and likely can not be held legally responsible for what he did.

Any reason I shouldn’t refinance for a 0.6% drop in this case?
 in  r/Mortgages  3d ago

No. There is no good reason to hold off. The whole idea of not doing it until you hit 1% is dumb. Over a 30 years loan you save nearly 115k for each percentage point you take off. It costs less than 2k to refi and you can do it by rolling the whole amount into the loan if you are tight on cash. Then if rates go down further, you can refi again.

You are risking “wasting” 2k in costs to save 70k in interest if the rates never drop again. If the rates drop even further then you refi again and take advantage of those rates. It is absolutely worth it. There is no limit on the amount of times you can refinance.

Fake airpods pro 2 from Costco?
 in  r/Costco  3d ago

I bought AirPods from Costco.com twice and both times when the package arrived it definitely looked like it had been opened before. I had issues with them and returned them to the store. Then I finally bought a pair at the warehouse and it seemed more legit. The case felt a little heavier too for the ones in the warehouse. I have see a decent amount of other posts and comments sharing the same experience. I think there could actually be some sort of scam happening.

Moved 100k from Roth IRA into a short-term 3 month CD at 4.25% pre-“Liberation Day”

He moved it into a CD within the ROTH. He didn’t withdraw. He timed the market and seemingly nailed the timing. But only time will tell if he comes out ahead.

Not a 360°, not a 180°.... How about a 0°
 in  r/nextfuckinglevel  3d ago

This was sort of like me and my brothers on the trampoline growing up. We could all do double front flips and double back flips. But we wanted a way to do one front flip and one back flip in one jump. Stopping yourself in the air and reversing momentum proved not feasible for us. So we came up with doing a backflip, after the flip is completed you do a 180° at the top, then front flip.

We had friends try it but they always did more of a 180 backflip then the front flip as one fluid motion which wasn’t the same. You had to do it sort of slow with a stall at the top.

Am I the only one that has zero problems with Windows 11?
 in  r/pcmasterrace  4d ago

In windows 10, my windows would open exactly where I left them with proper sizing to the applicable monitor. Windows 11 doesn’t do that no matter what setting I change or how much I try to fix it.

You also can’t move the taskbar like you used to be able to.

Two very basic functions that needed zero change and they somehow broke it.

Former Nintendo PR Managers Say Switch 2 and Mario Kart World Price Backlash 'A True Crisis Moment for Nintendo' - IGN
 in  r/gaming  4d ago

I’m not fine with the console price. The $350 OLED switch is years old. Nintendo’s typical approach is selling this for less profit upfront then not doing sales and taking more profit as the console and games keep selling over the next 10 years.

They upped the price too much. They should have dropped the OLED switch to $299 and made this one $399 at most.

how worn are these before i buy
 in  r/tires  4d ago

I’m not taking those for any cent above $20. I’m doing more of a service by getting rid of them for the seller than anything. And I would still only do that if I was right on money and my current tires were somehow more bald than this.

“Performance” golf tees
 in  r/golf  4d ago

The plastic ones don’t break after every use for me so that is why I use them. But I just bought a large pack of like 150 of them for $8 on amazon. I’m not buying name brand for that. I’ve gone through less than 20 of them in 2 seasons.

Was there a 50/50 chance that the snap would have affected Thanos in this moment, or did he spare himself?
 in  r/Avengers  5d ago

I disagree. He didn’t want to be god. He did exactly what he said. Snapped half the universe, watched the sunset, and then he destroyed the stones.

  1. He exempt himself because he knew dusting himself could have just been reversed.
  2. He left everyone to watch the sunset and be self sufficient off the land.
  3. He destroyed the stones to make sure it could not be undone or abused even by himself.

He absolutely had no desire to be a god.

 in  r/tipping  6d ago

I mean I’m just one guy. But if I was in line and heard an employee of any place, food truck or not, say that to the guy in front of me for not tipping I would absolutely walk away and find somewhere else. I’m not supporting that.

But OP asked about the last 16 years. DDL has Lincoln and Phantom Thread in that time, nothing else.

Switch 2 is selling for 449.99
 in  r/NintendoSwitch  6d ago

Crazy that they didn’t drop switch OLED price $50 and do $299 for that and $399 for this. So an OLED switch 2 will be $500 when it comes out?

Kinda shooting themselves in the foot. Between the cost of the console and the crazy game cost I’m not buying. And I was fully onboard to preorder right away at $399 if game prices stayed what they were for switch.

Why is everyone asking me when I am cutting my hair.Should I really get a hair cut ? Is it that bad ?
 in  r/malehairadvice  6d ago

I mean, someone asks for feedback on a public forum that is meant for feedback. Not sure what else you expected. If he was looking the way he wants then he should live his life and stop asking for advice or feedback.

What do you think about Corey Booker speaking for 24 hours at the senate?
 in  r/AskReddit  6d ago

I have looked at multiple posts mentioning it and haven’t found a single comment giving straight answers. So to me it becomes a “so what?” Type of response.

From what I have gathered: - he set a new record that was previously held by a racist man.

Okay cool, but what was he filibustering to begin with? The racist dude was using the filibuster to stop civil rights. Yes that dude was a POS and fighting for the wrong thing. But what was Booker filibustering here? A vote? It sort of just seems like grandstanding or breaking a record because that’s all that is left for him to spend his time doing after his party spent decades throwing away credibility.

I say all of this as a staunch Trump hater and general anti republican person for the last decade.

Weren’t they out of subs because they subbed someone in at the 96th minute? Never said make him the primary goal keeper.

In 2014 as well. Not using the goalie who basically specialized in penalty kicks against Argentina was certainly a choice.
