You'd only have to link the coordinates of the horse and player and link movement. The base character model would fully function in that scenario with no additional animation. The solution I gave you requires NO ANIMATION because you can use all of the base animations, you idiot. You just link the character model with the horse and hide his legs. The method you're talking about requires complete reanimation of the character model when on the horse. They would essentially have to do separate animations for the upper torso, also having to get involved with issues like spinning in a circle while while aiming and sitting on a horse, when currently you can't even sit in game.

Sorry, I replied to the wrong guy, but you should consider having the character stand inside the horse and put fake legs on the horse when riding him. The only animation involved is crumpling up the legs to fit, and the only logistical issue I can think of is restricting backward aiming so his back doesn't look broke. Then, the character could fully function from horseback. Much easier than actually making it happen. The way you're discussing animating in the comments is much more time consuming. Hey. I can offer some advice. Some of the movement looks snappy and it isn't smooth because of the speed changes. Try this:

Key the starting point and end point. Doing that ensures a smooth time frame for the overall movement. Pairing each endpoint with another key very close by and tweaking it gives the impression of solidly contacting the ground instead of "sliding" like this. Otherwise, excellent animation!
