Jalen green was seen as an empty stats guy, sengun was playing great but they were not playing meaningful basketball. I incomes FVV, Ime, Brooks. FVV and brooks don't break you with their stats, but they have an identity in how they compete, bring in veteran pace, and with ime they take their pride on defense and now green is doing it for a 2 seed in a fast turn around

Melo can likewise be way better especially given he is a willing passer and always looks for transition plays

Flagg is a jack of all trades but offensively he may not be a 1A option, his talent and impact is going to be there and he is also going to be an amazing offball/weakside defender and just find ways to help winning games

but having a pg who draws that much attention, willing to push the pace, always in transition, is long these guys could bring the best out of in eachother. Cooper is not a heliocentric type of lebron/luka/harden player where you get him the ball at the top and watch him read but he impacts the game in a lot of ways has no real weaknesses and can help contribute winning basketball right away. but trying to do a gut job rebuild and giving him the ball right away sets him up for a lot of losing and low quality defense team and not setting him up right

i think you're not respecting what cohesion in basketball team building is. Melo is a very willing passenger especially in transition he looks to move the ball as soon as possible. He is always on the attack, but as the other guy pointed out they get really stagnant in creation when he is not there and they just don't have the personell be it bad talent or too inexperienced who can really create consistently and he takes on that to a harmful point.

you give him more talent and spacing to choose spots and a winning team he plays the right way. Right now they are playing like the rockets before ime took over and they got some vets and the young talent came into it this year.

He has great talent, in my opinion he is willing to play winning basketball he does take pride in being active on defense, he isn't lazy there, but their whole team is undisciplined at this point and arent playing for much. but he moves the ball forward, pushes, always picks up the pace. With miller hopefully growing and getting experienced and a high level prospect and hopefully some vets they can turn that corner to make it more meaningful

basketball is played in 5s, the spacing, the decision making all give melo more opportunity to fix some of his inefficiencies rather than a young team just playing street ball like the rockets were a few years ago when jalen and sengun were putting up empty stats on losing teams to now putting the same stats on a no 2 seed in a matter of a couple years bc they got some vets, a coaching philosophy and identity
