How do I start dressing nicely?
 in  r/AusFemaleFashion  20h ago

I took my measurements and figured out my body shape (mine is pear), then just read up on flattering clothes for that shape, and keep that in mind when dressing. It helps me understand how to balance my proportions in a nice way, and makes shopping so much easier coz I can immediately disregard 75% of clothing.

(One day I'll figure out my colours too and then I'll be unstoppable lol.)

Once you've got an idea of what's generally flattering, you can try a bunch of stuff and figure out what you like and enjoy to wear. Personally I like dark neutrals and classic shapes, a bit of smart tailoring, simple jewellery, and elastic-waisted pants ;) But ultimately go with what you feel comfortable in.

I love seeing people all dressed up, even if I can rarely be bothered to do it myself.

Trumps America turned me left as a former centrist

That's the real problem IMO. People seem to have no idea what true leftist politics look like because of the constant 'woke-washing' used by neo-liberalism.

So you agree that the right aligns with amorality, lack of ethics, putting some people before others, the needs of the few over the the needs of the many, and lack of empathy?

Styling advice???

I reckon you need a push up bra - put the girls on display to distract from the straight line. And an eye-catching dangly necklace

Got a denim skirt from Seed which is going to change my life.  I was originally looking for a denim dress, for an easy chic-but-casual going out outfit. I tried on this skirt on a whim and holy fuck it fit perfectly and I'll be able to wear it with so many tops I already own. $100 with 25% off.

How has your Galaxy Watch been a life changer or just a gimmick?
 in  r/GalaxyWatch  20d ago

Not a game changer but I do like it a lot. Especially the health tracker, which motivates me to exercise when I notice my weekly exercise hours are looking low. I also like the heart rate monitor when exercising.

'Let Them'

I'm so glad that more and more people are rejecting the individualism of self-help. I do, however, still think that self-help has a place in our society. Not every problem needs a therapist, sometimes you do just need a motivational quote on an aesthetic phone background. I'd love to see some self-help geared towards working together - as families, as neighbours, as communities. Maybe we could call it co-help. How do you start a community garden? How do you find values in common with your neighbours? How do you know when and how to reach out to another who is suffering? That's the self-help we need in the world at the moment.

When I was a kid I wanted to a jockey. I soon grew too tall, but according to Mel that's a self-limiting belief! Off to the racetrack I go!

Holy shit, the fully white male leadership line up and token diversity non-management line up is really something.
