I own a pair. Sound really good, but they won't give you a ton of low-end if you care about that sort of thing. I got mine used for 90$ and $110 off eBay. So... not a bad price?

You just gotta learn to experiment and not let your preconceived notions get in the way of an otherwise strange but interesting melody.
Edit: Also, remember that sometimes less is more. Might be a common phrase, but it's astoundingly true.

Some artists like the Gorillaz actually try to listen to as little music as possible when they're making music. Can help form some fresh ideas. Though, this is just one technique. Other pieces of music can definitely provide inspiration for some, but it can also lead to imitation, I suppose.

Even just messing with different effects on an instrument can really change the sound to something unique. If you have a half-way decent microphone (even a phone mic) you could even import .wav files into AudioFileProcessor and get some sounds that way.

Definitely not my style. But it was interesting. Maybe change some of the synths. Sounds a lot like a bunch of default instruments.

I'm looking for a way to change my moderated subreddit to default be NSFW so that people who visit the sub can see image thumbnails whereas those outside the sub can only see a NSFW warning (much like is the case for many NSFW subs).
