I did a test
 in  r/short  15h ago

As a short chick, So many men seem to be insecure about their height, but being under 5’7 is a huge boon to me cause that means I can actually reach to hug/kiss them without feeling like child asking for ‘uppies’….

Is a 5’-5’5short king that doesn’t have a massively self deprecating/pity party bio too hard to ask for? 😩

How do you guys afford this?
 in  r/rawpetfood  1d ago

I live rural, I wouldn’t be able to afford the amount of dogs I have (3 working huskies and 3 small/medium chihuahua mixes) if I didn’t go out and help people butcher their stock.

Find small farmers that need help. Even if you don’t have the stomach to butcher(which is totally fair!), I’m sure you could find somthing to do or trade with them for all the extra pieces from their butcher days. Heads, tails, feet, skins, organs. Build up a good enough rapport with them and they’ll probably give you a couple extra whole carcasses or let you clean out their freezer from 5 years ago that they haven’t even been pulling from since then. Dogs don’t mind freezer burnt meats.

You did everything you could 🫂 I’m so sorry you had to go thru this. It’s traumatizing ❤️

Hate that kinda irresponsibility. I don’t understand it. Why have dogs if you’re not gonna train them and keep them safe..

Just showed up at my house
 in  r/AustralianCattleDog  3d ago

Looks closer to 3 1/2-4months old. Shes lost some puppy features but still has other, what teeth she has left to loose will give you a better idea those. Last ones to go are usually the canines around 4months

Because people don’t use them responsibly and it leads to people and dogs getting hurt or killed. They require training your dog on how to behave while on it and most people won’t do that because it’s ’just another leash’…

Tragic, not your fault, shouldn’t even have to pay for the vet IMO.

This is why flexi leads are so dangerous. They require the owner to actually train their dogs for it and most don’t. I’m so sorry this happened to you both❤️

What is the best robot vacuum for pet hair under $200?
 in  r/husky  10d ago

I feel like my huskies would just think it’s some kind of weird boring new toy to mess with until it breaks 😂

How many rabbits do I need to maintain unrelated lines?
 in  r/MeatRabbitry  13d ago

You can lone breed/in-breed rabbits for dozens of generations without seeing any signs of genetic degradation. I still added in outside rabbits every so often cause I liked having all the colors and typings.

Big ole dog or wolf?
 in  r/AnimalTracking  21d ago

You can see the nail imprints clearly, that makes it more likely to be a large dog, wolves generally keep their nails short and leave less noticeable imprints of them due to the mileage they walk/run on the daily.

Since you said there are a lot of high concentration wolf-dogs in your area in a different comment, that is also likely because they don’t roam as much (if they’re mostly contained at least) to work their nails down.

Predator safety?
 in  r/rabbitsincolonies  Mar 08 '25

I had my first rabbit colony inside my main yard where I ran my dogs. A fenced in area inside the dog fenced in area. Because of the amount of dogs and the amount of time we all spent outside, we didn’t have many ground predators that felt safe enough to invade. I strung CDs across the top in random ways to deter flying predators.

I had a very brave raccoon and a feral cat break in once, but my dogs immediately knew something was wrong with their yard and alerted, I only lost 1-3 rabbits both times after letting the dogs out

What is the most embarrassing, but still funny thing your husky has done in public?
 in  r/husky  Mar 07 '25

When we’re on walks my male will dive his nose into the grass or snow to find voles, mice, whatever tiny critter. Kill it, then try to leave it in the MIDDLE of people’s driveway entry 😩

My female pooped in the lake on a beach day in front of like 50 people. Thankfully it was solid and I was able to fish it out.

And my puppy ( well almost not a puppy now 😭) threw up on someone at tractor supply when they tried to give him a little register treat 😂 didn’t eat it. Was offered it, then he gagged and threw up on their shoes 😭

The rescue lied their asses off and I feel so trapped
 in  r/reactivedogs  Mar 01 '25

My last shelter dog was 10+ years ago (he is still with me) and he’s a good dog now mostly, but they told me he was potty trained, friendly with people and dogs, inside his whole life. Brought him home and he was definitely a feral street dog who had never really been inside except at the shelter.

It wasn’t as bad as it could have been, and definitely not as bad as your current situation, definitely helped that he’s a little (15lbs)dog.

A friend was talked into a dog that was way too much dog for her (reactive king shepard) and wasn’t even told that they knew it had thyroid cancer. When she found out and reached out to them they just said oh yeah we thought we put that on her discharge paperwork.

It’s just a rough situation all around in regards to both you specifically right now, as well with shelters in general… they would have more permanent placements if they were just honest with adopters. Best of luck to you and sending you all the good vibes and thoughts while you and your family figure this out ❤️

Shelters are a need but this is exactly why I haven’t gotten a dog from a shelter in years and probably won’t without extreme caution…

Pedicure night with Garold

😂 nope but I do gotta drug my older male for this kind of performance 😂

This one I just did this since literal birth. He knows no different than a weekly pedicure

I’ve trained this kind of behavior since birth so don’t feel too bad 😂

Your babes are gorgeous ❤️ with a lot of consistency and time you can get to this point too, I just had a head start cause I was able to do this since literal birth. It usually starts with teaching a settle/calm, then start associating it with touching feet/body and basically a full body exam and other stuff while reinforcing the settle/calm. (I’m intending to breed so we’ve been working on X-ray and blood draw training too for when he’s old enough to get his OFAs done)

Because I started at birth, I was able to skip the whole teaching settle about it. We still learned that when he was age applicable, but that was weeks after I had already been taking him and his siblings in my lap on their backs and messing with/trimming their little razor claws

Oh yes, this is a weekly occurrence since birth. It’s part of the pampering 😂 we also apply mushers secret foot wax at the same time afterwards :) he’s the only one out of my 3 huskies that will do this for the dremel tho. The other 2 only handle the nail clippers.

Preserving cat paws? With bones in?
 in  r/Taxidermy  Feb 21 '25

Yup! He can hang out in the freezer for as long as you need. I would suggest wrapping in a towel or blanket to help prevent any freezerburn that can result in hair slippage/loss.

Just posted up a dump of em 😂 I’m the main boss, and my blonde (Caspian) is runner up usually, but my girl (Chui, the raccoon faced) is slowly taking over a bit as she matures. She listens the best out of all 3 when it comes to vocals.

Edit to add. Garold here is still the baby, he’s only 6 months old 😂
