Thanks to Urgot I decided to start walking like a crab and telling people about suffering all the time. I've been fired and now I'm learning about suffering all the time.

Videotron Helix equipment installation. Moving to a new apartment
 in  r/CanadianBroadband  Nov 12 '24

You can unscrew the coax already present and re-use that port. However, nothing you do will make it work. The fiber is clearly hanging in pieces and you do not have the equipment to splice it - you need a technician. The power supply cable must be plugged into a power outlet. It can be any outlet. If there is an outlet present in the telecom panel and it does not work, 99% of the time that is because a breaker has tripped.

Is there a solo vanilla project?
 in  r/wowservers  Oct 01 '24

I'm not sure there's a true solo server, but there's some with bots available to the player to hire for group content:

Nyctermoon

Solocraft

Probably one or two more. They all have different implementations.

I have no idea what I'm doing
 in  r/projecteternity  Jun 24 '24

I think this was pretty much the reaction many players had, and the reason why the sequel underperformed so much. Lots of good advice already, not going to give any, except I guess 'git gud' (but you don't have to, it's ok to dislike something). I think most players just don't want to play this type of game. I hope you have fun whatever you choose

I would like to use DS4Windows to disable the lightbar, and that's it

Hello, sorry if this is a stupid question. It is easy to disable the lightbar, but if I have the program running I run into the double input issue. I do not want to use DS4windows for input, only to disable the lightbar. Is this possible?

Edit: Nevermind. Turns out you can do this using steam.

It's telling that you chose to nitpick this comment, rather than the greater post. The comment is self-invalidating unless it includes itself in the 1%, which would be laughably arrogant.

I don't care about bis or gear. I do enjoy exploring the world, and that's why I always return to vanilla, and why sod is interesting. You're also completely incorrect. Badges have been present since TBC.

Guess what, you just described BFD. It's trivial in difficulty and you have to run and re-run to even see your gear drop, much less win the contested roll. Raid logging keeps subs rolling throughout the whole phase for that last chance at getting your bis. It's the same gambling design in lootbox mobile games. A deterministic system such as I described will be one-and-done. All the player has to do is buy the item off AH and upgrade it with the badges. Then, optionally, upgrade further via interaction with other players in the world pvp zone. Which is just a suggestion, it could be something else like a short quest chain ala Void Touched equipment. Anyway, thank you for discussing it seriously. I'm impressed by your patience. You don't have to agree, I'm just glad someone was actually paying attention to what I was saying. Sorry for my snide remarks earlier.

You don't have to get the grey to drop. It is already processed into a green when you buy it from the tradeskill player or off of the AH. The batteries drop off of every boss in gnomer, in addition to their regular loot. You could also make them a drop that every player gets off of the boss, but require a larger number in order to charge the equipment. Seriously, you guys need to learn to read. Things are clearly marked BOE and BOP.

Based on your post, and the clear consensus, this is an endorsement of my idea.

There's not much point in making specs like balance druid viable if you homogenize what makes them unique. In this case, leather gear is one of the things that makes balance druids different from mages or warlocks. This also isn't really a major overhaul, badges have precedent. So do upgrades, in the case of the void touched equipment in p1, which I and many other players thought was pretty cool. It's also clear that the devs are making an attempt to get players to involve themselves more directly in tradeskills and the economy. Both in the waylaid shipment drops and in the upgrading of crafted BOEs into epics.

Edit: To add, the issue is already "solved" by a 3 day lockout instead of 7. This doesn't solve the raidlogging problem, though. Players aren't out there in the world, only in their little instanced bubbles. That is clearly not the point of SOD.

All you need to do is buy your gear off the AH and combine it with the badges you get from the raid to upgrade it. Is that a nightmare for you?

Broader loot tables make for more rng and making gear for 3 specs per class instead of 1 triples the size of the table. Gear competition across leather, for example, is fucked up. Mail drops are often useless. Much of the gear on any given BFD run is vendored. Your raid doesn't have a boomkin? Well, that caster leather is useless.

It's actually faster than waiting on a drop, since you are guaranteed to get the one you want. Same as spidersilk boots or Toughened leather gloves

Season of Discovery Loot tables need to change. Here is a SoD-style badges solution

Step 1

A broken, grey, near unusable piece of gear drops. This could be BOE out in the world. It could be BOE from a specific dungeon or world boss.

Step 2

The useless broken gear finds its way to a tradeskilled character, by trade or auction house. This character uses the broken gear as an ingredient for a recipe. Ex: Broken leather boots can be made into caster leather boots, tanking leather boots, or melee leather boots. This produces a green-quality BOE item, an upgrade to leveling gear but worse than dungeon pre-bis drops.

Step 3

Gnomeregan bosses all drop BOP "gnomish battery packs" (badges). 3 (or whatever number) of these can be used to charge up and upgrade the green BOE boots into BOP blue leather boots. They are now good, only slightly worse or on par with raid loot.

Step 4

The blue leather boots are brought to STV. The player to which they are bound participates in the PvP event, and upgrades them to epic quality using resources gathered during the event. The formerly broken boots are now bis, and the player has gone on a journey.

I am not saying that we should do away with traditional loot, but for future phases, changes need to be made if all specs are going to be supported. This solution gets players out into the world, encourages investment into tradeskills and the economy, and keeps players from mindlessly running the same instanced content in their own little bubbles to unsatisfactory ends. How many players never saw the loot they were really after? This is an opportunity to tell stories and enhance the world (of warcraft).

EDIT: I am disappointed in the reading comprehension and critical thinking skills on display here at r/classicwow.
