Not that all Deaf ASL teachers are great and know everything and hearing teachers are necessarily useless or harmful, but there are definitely trends to that effect, and this is a significant socio-cultural misstep that a Deaf teacher is far less likely to make. If this hearing teacher ran this lesson plan past their Deaf colleagues (if they have any!) I'm sure they'd get uniformly told, "Please don't" or something equivalent but stronger.
