Trump Is Losing in a Landslide in Canada - The president’s trade war and threats of annexation have united Canadians as never before
 in  r/politics  16h ago

The problem is that a lot of the people in this country are far gone and supports that. Thats hard to fix, especially with things such as FOX news further “confirming” their world view.

A lot of these people have been doing activism ever since Trump announced his first campaign in 2015. A lot of these people have not been affected at all personally and have been doing activism. They’ve been fighting for decades and are doing the most they can to help. These people still have lives and other responsibilities, such as work, school, etc as well, yet still take the time out of their day to try and at least do something.

Not to mention that a lot of people thought this was over when Biden won, which is why I mentioned that it has only been a couple of months. We had faith that he would be in jail right now, but our Republican SCOTUS said otherwise. It’s fucked up, I know, but you can’t blame people for most likely letting down their guard and thinking this would be the end of it all, and having just a bit of faith that he couldn’t possibly win again after all of the bullshit he’s done. But after this election, a lot of people learned that really is not the case, unfortunately.

Like I said, you sound like you would rather have literally nobody doing anything about this, and instead to just continue sitting and watch it happen, like you claim has been happening for a decade. It is a negativity bias. I’m personally happy to see this happen. I want to be optimistic about seeing people getting outside and doing something instead of literally just nothing happening. It’s by FAR the perferable option. It gives people morale.

Well then, would you rather us do nothing? People congratulated the huge protests in Germany. Why is it different now?

pretending it’s enough

I never said “it’s enough”. I said “most likely the beginning of something bigger”. It has been just a couple of months. It takes time and effort for people to properly mobilize and organize across a huge ass country. Like I said, the fact that these protests are growing and getting more organized, shows progress. The only people I’ve seen degrading these protests are Republicans and people that are not from here, since they can’t properly assess how hard it is for something like this to even happen.

You’re literally just having a negativity bias. Try to see the positive of something for once instead of being all doomer about everything, the most “reddit thing ever”.

Kamala still recieved 75m votes, more people than the population of most European countries, and nearly double the population of Canada. You’re way to eager to start generalizing.

J-7D. Easily. It’s arguably the best plane at 10.7, with the best rear aspect IR missiles in the game (PL-5B). I get consistent aces while playing it.

California to Negotiate Trade With Other Countries to Bypass Trump Tariffs

Thank you, I added 3 questions that came to mind when I first saw and read the article, and what some people were saying about this in other subreddits

California to Negotiate Trade With Other Countries to Bypass Trump Tariffs
 in  r/moderatepolitics  22h ago

California Governor Gavin Newsom said he has directed his administration to “look at new opportunities to expand trade” as he tries to steer his state around President Donald Trump’s sprawling import tariffs.

California, the world’s fifth-largest economy, plays a crucial role in driving U.S. economic growth. As the largest importer and second-largest exporter among U.S. states, with over $675 billion in two-way trade, it holds significant economic influence. Therefore, Trump’s tariffs could have a major impact, potentially increasing costs for California businesses, disrupting global supply chains, and putting pressure on vital industries within the state.

In a post on X, Newsom addressed the U.S.’s global trading partners, writing “California is here and ready to talk.”

California, not being its own country, can’t be directly targeted in international trade retaliation. However, countries could choose to retaliate against Trump’s tariffs by targeting goods commonly produced in states other than California—like soybeans or pork—instead of products like California wine or walnuts, Daniel Sumner, an agricultural and resource economics professor at UC Davis, told Newsweek.

Hey guys, first post here so I hope I did this comment description right by copy and pasting some parts of the article that I found notable. As a Californian, I found this particularly intriguing, and wanted to hear what other people think.

• What do you think of California trying to seperate itself from the Trump administration, and trying to become/seem more “independent”?

• Do you think countries will agree to talk and spare Californian products from tariffs? We’ve already seen countries such as Canada say that they are trying to target red states and their products, but do you think a country such as China would care to do the same?

• Do you think Trump will retaliate, and/or blame try to blame this move by Newsom for any potential failure(s) as a result of the tariffs?

Another thing worth mentioning is how many future additions the Chinese air tree can get, most likely rendering it one of the best air trees for futureproofing and future updates.

As for air-to-air missiles, China can get the PL-10, PL-15, PL-17, and PL-21. For planes, China can get future variants of the J-7, J-8, J-10, and J-11, and can also get the J-16, J-20, J-35, and Su-30MKK, all with indigenous Chinese technology and missiles, and some still having the option to use Russian missiles as well. They can also get the F-16V because of Taiwan, and not to mention potentially getting a subtree (or some sort of 5th line) in the future, since the air tree only has 4 lines.

(I might be missing some planes/missiles but those are the most notable. Just go look at the suggested vehicles for China on the forums for more examples)

I’m glad to hear that the world is seeing this. One of the main goals of these protests is to show that not every American far gone and MAGA by default, and that we’re trying to start organizing. Even my school has been holding protests and walkouts almost weekly at this point.

Everything has to start somewhere. Its difficult for a country as big and diverse as the US to properly organize against an admin that is more than happy to use martial law and military force against them. It’s a miracle we even got millions of people in all 50 states to properly organize and protest in the first place, including dark red states such as Utah, and republican strongholds such as The Villages, Florida. This shows progress.

Plus, these protests that have been happening are most likely just the beginning of something much bigger. Like mentioned before, it takes time for an entire country as big as the US to properly organize in 2025, especially when you consider around 90m~ people did not vote and thus do not care. Over time when peoples finances are even more fucked up than they already are, and even the non-voters who think they wouldn’t be affected by Trump start actually seeing themselves get affected and maybe start to care, we will see much bigger mobilization and organization across the country. Theres a reason why these protests have been only been increasing in attendance numbers since the election, and will continue to grow.

Best Tank in War Thunder GRB: Battle Rating 5.0

Also easily uptierable as well; I use it in my 6.0 lineup and still do fine. Literally the only downside it has is the side panel thingys getting in the way sometimes, but its manageable.

 in  r/WarthunderPlayerUnion  1d ago

Japan might get it since Thailand just ordered Gripen Es iirc. They won over the F-16V in their trialing and placed an order for some a couple months ago. Not sure what armament they may use on them though.

All Air How do I be more sneaky and avoid having as many missiles fired at me in top tier BVR?

Whenever I try and do BVR, it feels like I spend 80% of the time just dodging missiles. I do everything correct to notch, yet my RWR will still be screaming at me. Meanwhile I watch other players, and it feels like they only get a couple missiles launched at them and notch them within seconds. What am I doing wrong?

I honestly think they said that just to “calm us down”, especially since I mentioned how this is literally illegal in ths US and EU. I doubt they’re gonna listen and just wait for everyone to forget.

I proposed to them to add the packs back for 24hrs like many people are suggesting, and they said “Users complaints have been fowarded to the releveant team for consideration.”

So I’m just confused at this point after seeing these other responses people are getting. I messaged them again asking if it’s truly coming back or not because of these other responses they’ve been giving out, cause me personally I’m ready to just say “fuck you” and take the $350 me and tons of other people are offering to give them elsewhere. I need new headphones.

Somebody can tell what is happend with Sweden and Germany on 8.0, and USSR at 10.3?
 in  r/Warthunder  3d ago

It isn't the lineups, It's the players. When playing Germany, you go from 6.7 to 8.0 basically instantly, 2 completely different playstyles. 6.7 Germany focuses more on armor, good guns, and worse mobility, with the King Tigers, Ferdinand, etc. 8.0 Germany focuses more on a new doctrine revolving around less armor but better mobility, with the Leopard 1, DF105, etc. This instant transition of 2 completely playstyles w/o any transition inbetween is very difficult and confusing, especially since Germany has many new players that have been relying off of the armor w/ good guns playstyle for a long time before. Even I can admit that I did really poorly when grinding Germany and having to transition from the 2 entirely different plastyles, especially since it was my first tree and I was still new.

Sweden isn't because of the players, but rather because it is commonly paired with Germany, meaning they get pretty bad teammates.

Russia is also because of bad teammates since there are many premiums at that br, including the infamous 2s38. Many new players (understandably) do not want to spend ages grinding, so they buy their way to top tier, unaware at how different it is, + they are going up against much better players most of the time.

All of the lineups are very good and some of my favorite to play in the entire game. It's just the players.

TL;DR: Bad teams, teammates, and players

The real reason why gaijin nixed the D.O.G.E. Kid pack

Same here. Never have I ever hought that gaijin would turn down potentially hundereds of thousands of dollars.

I messaged support about it, asking if they could possibly add them back for a day like a lot of people are suggesting, and they said "The feedback from the community, including the thread you mentioned, has been noted and forwarded to the relevant team for consideration."

So if the pack doesn’t come back within the next couple of days (especially after the main event is over), I think its shit out of luck.

 in  r/Warthunder  4d ago

Ngl, I understand that the 6d timer may have been a mistake, and it was intended to be an April 1st only pack, but they should at least extend the time period to purchase by 24hrs to compensate for the situation (with an announcement), and try to prevent this from happening again in the future. A lot of people sold their vehicles to buy this and are now upset and feel lied to.

Fairly Annoyed Reddit now automatically setting the subreddit feed to "Best" and constantly removing and readding it

This new UI and stuff has already been horrible enough imo, and this new "Best" feature made it even worse. It's not even because the feature is bad, but rather because it is automatically preset whenever you go on a subreddit, instead of the usual "Hot" preset. I want to see NEW posts, with threads that are still active and getting engagement, please. Not some old thread from a WEEK ago.

I also hate how they keep removing and readding the feature as well. I go on a subreddit, and it is automatically set to "Best", and I forget to change it as always. Then I go on the same subreddit literally the next day and It's completely gone. Then I revisit the subreddit a week or so later, and It's back again. Make up your mind, is it staying or not?

Which of these dangerous (for visitors) countries would you want to visit if you had to?
 in  r/polls  4d ago

Dude where are you from. The US is one of the most diverse countries in the world and is actually much less racist than a great portion of the world. I'm a black man, and my school alone has several openly trans and lgbtq people, and is only like 10% white, and we're all fine.

And no, just because of this new admin doesn't mean that everyone that isn't a straight while male is now all of a sudden getting openly lynched and ridiculed and shit. You all need to relax and stop getting your pov's from social media designed for clicks and views, and not take everything at face value. This is rule 1 of the internet.

Oh look, another guy that has probably never been to the US and only gets their POV of the entire country from exaggerated media. Checking your profile further confirms it.
