World’s longest standoff
This is amazing. The only thing that would’ve made it better is every time it cuts back to the straw hat he starts at the same spot, like in the movie.

[T-Mobile/Sprint customers] Free MLB.tv/The Athletic for 1 year via the T-Mobile Tuesdays app. Must redeem by 8/4, automatically renews (and charges you) in 1 year (remember to cancel)
Also, if you’re like me and don’t have any old gift cards laying around, if you use PayPal you can effectively cancel the subscription through them. PayPal recognizes automatic monthly payments and gives you the option to cancel them. Payments to that vendor will be rejected.
I never purchase subscriptions with just a straight credit card anymore. I always use PayPal or Apple Pay so I can cancel without having to deal with customer service.

The worst
Business doesn’t stop, but I do.
I work for a small(er) firm. Yeah, I won’t try to take the day off in the middle of fieldwork or something, but there is absolutely nothing we do that’s so important it can’t wait until tomorrow or next week if I’m on vacation.
Seriously, people need to take time off and really take time off. And if your work keeps emailing you and expecting a response when you’re on PTO, go work somewhere else. Nobody needs that in their lives. It’s not worth it. Work should be the means by which you support yourself, not the sole purpose of your life.

Samurai of Tsushima, Standoff
It’s not really hate against using the bow, it’s that the bow is huge and looks kind of funny just chilling on your back. It also has some clipping issues with outfits and other things. Really, it just doesn’t always look that great back there.

Which fictional character's death have you not gotten over?
I watched the show before the books, and while the casting was excellent for the vast majority of characters, I still have my own visualization of all the characters except for Lord Tywin. Charles Dance was absolutely perfect, and I can’t stop picturing him when Tywin comes up in the books.

As long as you’re active in paying attention to what they’re watching, it’s no worse than other cartoons. YouTube Kids is generally safer, but you should always be aware of the content they consume.
The fact of the matter is that even parents that stay home with their kids are not going to be able to give them 100% of their attention 100% of the time, and they shouldn’t either. Kids need to learn how to entertain themselves.
When parents are using YouTube and tablets to keep kids occupied all the time, that’s a problem. If kids are also reading books, playing with toys, and being taught by parents, a little tablet time here and there is not going to hurt as long as you are monitoring it.

How often are things like AI actually improved upon post release?
A big overhaul? Not going to happen. Small tweaks here and there? Most likely.
The way stealth works now is more or less how it will work a year from now.

Ghost of Tsushima - 8 Combat Tips and Tricks You Need To Know
Yeah, if that’s what other people do, I don’t really care that much. People should play games to have fun, however that is achieved. Personally, I feel that exploits cheapen my experience of a game, but not everyone feels that way and that’s okay.

Ghost of Tsushima - 8 Combat Tips and Tricks You Need To Know
The bow parry trick seems kind of cheap, but to each their own.
Hiding behind the horse seems like a legit strategy, though, even in real life. Maybe not the whistle part, but having the enemy come up to check out a riderless horse that seemingly wandered into camp.

I think it varies around the world. I don’t know where you’re at, but for new game releases I feel like we see posts from countries other than the US playing the game before it releases for us. But in the US, games always release at 12:00 AM eastern, 9:00 PM pacific.

How is the money split when you purchase something from a store compared to buying it via the PS Store?
I’m not a retail expert, but I can almost guarantee it’s on a contract by contract basis. No way is Sony going to give an Indie studio the same cut as EA or Ubisoft, and no way would a AAA game company accept the same agreement given to a lesser-known startup.
My educated guess is that the bigger studios get a cut of the revenues, and the benefit to Sony is the sheer number of games, systems, and services sold by big-name games. I can’t see them being okay with a big lump sum up front, unless they don’t think the game will sell well.
Smaller places might also get a smaller cut of the revenues, or Sony might pay a lump sum for the game.

What is the most appealing aspect (in your opinion) of PlayStation 5?
The friends I’ll make along the way.

A little warning and a request.
Yeah, that’s definitely fair. I’m lucky enough to have a steady income, but I’m by no means loaded. I also don’t buy several games a month—there just isn’t enough coming out every month to interest me. So when a game does come out that I’m interested in, I tend to buy it without regard to reviews. There’s usually only a handful of these a year—I don’t have as much time to play as I used to, unfortunately. If I was buying more games, I might pay more attention to reviews, who knows.

Good soldiers follow orders.

A little warning and a request.
You do you. If that’s what works for you, then great. It doesn’t work for me—I like to figure out if I like something on my own. Everyone’s different.

Dismemberment
I know it’s just a game and all that, but I just found myself feeling really bad for that guy. He was just a soldier standing by a campfire—maybe he was lost in thoughts of home. And just like that, he’s dead, and he never saw it coming. Never even had a chance to react.
I think I’m going to be playing more as a samurai than a ninja.

Student GOP leader says Republicans voting for Trump is a "betrayal" to the U.S.
Is it really too much to think that maybe some people have changed? I voted for Trump, and I am very much ashamed of that now. I was younger, didn’t really understand the issues or what was at stake, and to be honest I didn’t really care.
I was wrong.
I have changed tremendously in the last four years. I am much more liberal than conservative, though I still refuse to label myself a Republican or a Democrat because there’s stances on both sides I agree with and disagree with.
But the point is, people can change. Some just go to whichever side they think is winning, but most people are just normal, everyday people like you and me.
This kind of divisive thinking is exactly what Trump wants. He wants us to categorize and stereotype each other. He loves it when we dehumanize others by classifying them as Republican or Democrat. This turns the other side of the argument is turned into a faceless, nameless monster, when the vast majority of people just want what’s best for themselves, their family, and their country, but they’re easily swayed by the information they have on hand, their upbringing, and their peers.
All this does is get Trump supporters more firmly entrenched in their beliefs because, guess what, they are real people who don’t like being called stupid anymore than you or I do.

A little warning and a request.
That’s true. Everyone is different. I personally don’t like reviews and I encourage people to make discoveries on their own. I suggest watching gameplay videos without commentary or waiting for a discount, but I’m not saying everyone has to do it my way.

Well now I just feel silly. Thanks for clearing that up. I’ll definitely have to give that game another shot now.

Trophy list
Yeah, I think I will. I typically enjoy challenging games as long as it doesn’t feel unfair. It’s a fine line between the two.

Hmm, I thought I remembered it saying it reduced the amount of health you had if it got too high, or it reduced the amount of heals you had or something.
I could be completely wrong.

Sekiro is incredibly difficult, and I didn’t like the dragon rot system at all. It felt like punishing bad players for being bad, like, “Oh, you keep dying at this part? That’s too bad. Well, here’s a totally unnecessary mechanic to make the game even harder for you.”
I know there’s a way to cure it, but it was very off putting to me.
I’ve been thinking about giving the game another chance, though.

A little warning and a request.
I agree, to a point. The idea is to not let a review influence you too much because many are biased towards getting views, and all of them are subjective to some degree. You shouldn’t let EuroGamer or Kotaku tell you whether or not a game is good. If you want to play a game, buy it and find out for yourself if you like it or not. If I’m not sure about spending the money on a game, I’ll watch a gameplay video without commentary.
I don’t know, I just don’t trust gaming “journalism.” I don’t think there’s much value to be gained. Overall whether or not a game is good is something you have to decide for yourself.
