Why Underpayment Penalty
I wonder if this is something you could let HR/finance know and request to get the bonus on January 1 instead. This would a) give you 1 year of no-bonus taxes, and b) let you know for sure what to set your withholding at.

RPD Violated Sanctuary City Policy in Whitney Street Incident
Exactly. Put in a way that right leaning people would appreciate - “Sanctuary city” really means “we’re not going to spend city resources to help the feds”. It doesn’t prevent feds from coming to Rochester and doing whatever they want. It just means that the city isn’t giving free labor to the feds.

AOC leads Schumer in head-to-head New York primary matchup by double digits
This is for a Senate seat, not the Governorship.

Graduation dependent on securing co-ops in tough job market
I wouldn’t necessarily include this as a con. Granted, in a tough job market co-ops may be hard to come by, but so will a first job after graduation. You know what will make finding the first job out of college easier? Co-op experience!

Schumer says tariffs would hit Upstate New Yorkers hard
Maybe you should. Dumbasses get people elected.

Schumer says tariffs would hit Upstate New Yorkers hard
Maybe, but the reality is that theatrics matter. One of the consistent criticisms of the Democratic Party is that they’re bad with messaging (see: Biden failing to successfully tout his many accomplishments). I’d rather “theatrics” be used by those who hold policy positions closer to mine.

Schumer says tariffs would hit Upstate New Yorkers hard
I agree with most of your comments in this thread, but this take is wrong. If theatrics were nothing, Regan would have beaten JFK, and a game show host wouldn’t be in the White House right now.
Theatrics bring attention to issues, theatrics can get press coverage.
And you can do theatrics when you’re in the minority.

What do you think of Senator Cory Booker's marathon speech (20 hours+ as of this post)?
The chair would need to recognize the next senator. I believe that wouldn’t happen.

What do you think of Senator Cory Booker's marathon speech (20 hours+ as of this post)?
If you tune into a few minutes of the live stream, you’ll see that that’s basically what’s happening

What do you think of Senator Cory Booker's marathon speech (20 hours+ as of this post)?
I believe they could ask a question in 27 parts, but I believe Booker would still need to be present and standing while the “question” was “asked”

What do you think of Senator Cory Booker's marathon speech (20 hours+ as of this post)?
He can’t yield except for questions. They can hold it indefinitely as long as Booker can remain standing on the floor. No one can take over for him.

Ever seen a movie that's had such a good premise. Such a good idea but was executed so poorly?
Also just for the first 20 minutes. They went way overboard initially to set up the premise and then dialed it way back in the second half.

This man does not pull off this beard
Ahhh ok, no worries. I’m on s2e3, thought it was of something to come. I don’t remember season 1 very well if it was from there.

The <select> element can now be customized with CSS
All references there are to WebKit agreeing to the standard, but nothing about an implementation or timeline.
For anyone else curious, here is the WebKit issue for this feature. It was just created, no one assigned to work on it. So it'll probably be no less than 6-12 months until it lands in Safari.

Yessss!!!
Anyone know the WebKit status?

How do you stay focused when working remote?
I have a clip for it to attach it to my monitor, and use the macOS “Continuity Camera” feature to use it for meetings. It’s higher resolution than my computer’s built-in camera, lets me close the lid of my laptop, and prevents me from using the phone while it’s up there.

Married; moved into wife's house; selling my old house - what to do with revenue?
Only if you itemize your deductions, which most people don't. Especially if you're living in a LCOL area.

Are people underestimating this special election? Trump's soft war with Canada will have an influence on the outcome
TIL that she hasn't actually resigned yet. Interesting, looks like April 2nd is the current expected date for her confirmation vote.

how do ui libraries keep their paid components private?
It would also be fairly straightforward for them to distribute unique unified output (i.e. change the order of methods, change unified strings, slightly change error strings) in a reproduceable way that corresponds to a specified license. If they find an unauthorized copy in use, they could analyze it to see which paying customer it came from.
App minification and tree shaking might impact this, but I’m sure there are ways around that for them.

Black ID.4 badge pic
FYI, it's trivial to tweak your photo to reveal your license plate. You need to cover it with a non-transparent pen tool. No matter how many times you go over it with a semi-transparent pen tool, it'll still be possible to reveal.
/r/notsusan33 I just sent you a DM showing you what happens when you bump up the brightness of the photo.

I’ve been trying to get involved in Irondequoit politics and government the last couple of years and this is the first I’ve heard about it. Any more information?
