Productivity LPT: Maybe it's just me, but I've found that talking to yourself in a absurdly mocking tone is a great way to motivate yourself to do things you've been avoiding

Then as an ardent feminist who is very outspoken against porn / the current state of the sex industry, let me tell you this: there are no double standards when it comes to consent. If you don't want to do something, or if there are things you are uncomfortable with, you do not have to do them - whether you are male, female, or anything outside and in between. It is also every bit within your right to reject or call out someone out for coercing you, or pushing clearly established boundaries. This is inexcusable when coming from people who should be aware of these issues - don't let them get away with hypocrisy.
However in my experience: true discomfort is more rarely the problem when it comes to men's side of the equation. Don't get me wrong - I've had plenty of young boys / men come to me with concerns of coercion similar to what I've described above, and it always breaks my heart that sweet young dudes that actually do care are being actively pushed towards this kind of violence and disregard by both men and women alike. So make no mistake: it definitely is happening. But more often I've found it's a case of "It's not my jam but I'll still do it if they ask". So there's less eroticization of the pain / danger to women's health, but still an overall disregard. And that aspect is still closely tied to many of the criticisms feminism holds towards our current power and social structures. When a man is shown wanting to hurt himself during sex, we tend to ask questions or see it for how it really is: harmful and unhealthy, or at least as someone who is willingly engaged in a fringe behavior (ie., a part of the "kink" community). But the danger to women's health is so mainstream it's hardly a consideration to many. Which yes, includes women themselves.

It doesn't matter if "Mackezeigh" is dumb, blonde (why does hair color matter???), or 110 pounds. If she's a lifeguard she's trained to save your ass and probably swim better than you. Fuck off with this chauvinist boomer humor - that's one thing that can stay in the 90s.

Which is an outrage. If I'm going to be old, I demand to be called by my rightful Grunkle status!

You're 30 and still a sophomore in highschool?

Yeah, if these kids want to be racist so badly they can go ahead and say this shit in the wrong (or right) neighborhood and see what happens. Too many people walking around with chronic "never-had-their-ass-beat" syndrome.

Personal story: A few weeks after the election, I bought a really interesting looking book taking an in-depth look at the visual history of Barbie, just for fun.
After flipping through pages upon pages with images of fashionable and pretty Barbie dolls throughout the decades, I came across one particular entry: "President Barbie", who first released in 1992 and has been "running" ever since (bar only the 1996 election for whatever reason). The idea behind her marketing at the time was to inspire young girls that the 90s were a new age, where anything was possible for women; that now, even a glamorous doll like "Barbie" could achieve the highest office of our country. It was accompanied by interviews given upon her release, asking celebrities, politicians, and people on the street if they earnestly believed there would be a female president within the next 15-20 years. Not could: would. Overwhelmingly - they all said yes.
I think I just sat and stared at the pictures of the two dolls (as it was released in both light and dark skintones) in silence for several minutes, before I realized there were tears streaming down my face.

You think all media sucks now because "woke libtard mindsets" and having black people in a game is ruining capitalism. I think all media sucks now because capitalism is rapidly approaching its inevitable and destructive conclusion where every possible decision chooses to maximize profit over quality and creativity.
We are not the same.

"Your eggs will dry up!"
Oh no! Anyway... 🙄

I always agree with not having kids if you simply don't want to - but isn't that her saying that despite all the "trouble" it was, it was still worth it for her to raise you? I mean I'm not going to pretend to know someone else's story or their home life, but it's not like we don't know stay-at-home moms aren't infamously overlooked and unsupported in their day-to-day lives while the rest of the family gets to sit back and focus on themselves.

Even then... I don't know about y'all but even in the worst periods of my life, I've never snapped at barista or ruined my day over a coffee. Some behaviors are just intrinsic to assholes and overly-aggressive types more than others.

tbf if incels are what qualifies for being human these days I think I'd rather be a separate entity. Come on lads - men, women, we're all part of the "Female" race now

You can't stop people from walking out of a theater any more than you can stop them from walking out of a gallery, but think of how the experience of creating film compares to other artforms - especially at the time. A painter has input over where their works are displayed, and how. A live musician has input in what kind of venues / audience they may perform for. And in a world that was pre-VHS, many filmmakers had similar expectations.
There exists an avenue for most art where it can be mass-produced and proliferated for personal use. Paintings can become cheap and quickly printed posters and hung anywhere (like say, a bathroom). Live music can be recorded onto distributable records, tapes, discs, and digital files - and now your anti-facist music can easily be played at a facist rally. But if you're someone who thinks those options won't fully capture or present your work in the best way, and you're not concerned with the dollar amount it can make you - then you might be reluctant to concede that control over your art. For many filmmakers, VHS / DVD was their cheap poster.

My god, it's a medical mystery! The worst case of commenter-itis I've seen today. Not a single funny bone or sliver of self-awareness to be found in their entire body, R.I.P 💀

No we didn't lol. Bruh you did not have to tell on yourself like that omg haha

Seriously, if that amount of edgelord cringe can't even be shook off by a loser as powerful and wealthy as Elon Husk, it certainly isn't going to work for a loser with no power and no money like this dork.

Lmao, typical 1998. Can't even remember a time when good internet dating sites used to exist without subscriptions.
Only mostly joking, haha. But seriously, don't let anyone fool you: it's purely because of greed and engagement-based business models - not fair wages and server costs.

Try going oldschool! Shows like Psych, My Name Is Earl, and Parks & Recreation are all great comedies with a more down-to-earth setting, if you can handle some of the more outdated 00s references and humor. And if you want a 90s show that pokes fun at the absurdity of rich caricatures through its characters, Frasier is one of my personal favorites!

Any dating app that doesn't just let you filter and browse profiles through mutual interests or self-select is an automatic time waster. Why yes, let's show a person with no interest in having children a thousand matches of people who desperately want to have children in the next 2 years. And hell, let's make them pay a monthly subscription if they want to filter out anyone with an intrinsically opposed ideology; matches all made in heaven, clearly.

And get banana insides all over my fingers? No thanks, I'd rather risk the invisible poison rot.

They're right. A good pirate only takes property from billionaires and overpaid health and corporate landlord execs. Luckily, they own a lot of stuff so chances are whatever you're pirating is theirs anyway!

Honestly it seems like the solution at this point is for everyone to band together and force their hand by promoting "self-selected alternate pricing".
For the good of the nation... No sir, I had no idea those bananas were "organic", I no read big words like that good after shut down of department of education 🙌

Unpopular opinion: I don’t think "just work hard and you’ll succeed" applies anymore.

If I can squeeze in a song rec: look up a song called "The Poor" by Jesse Welles. Not a shill (just a fan) - it just sprang to mind. But also if you just wanted proof that you're not the only one who's feeling this way. He put it into words really well.
