All of these are both funded by both state and federal tax revenue. Yet education and health is down the drain. Somehow people think throwing more money at the “fix” that js not working.

They are cutting waste I am fine with it. Why are we paying all these state taxes if we are still depending of federal to solve our unique local issues on federal funding? We have our own department of agriculture and department of education. We are a island state in the middle of the ocean, we need to learn how to fix our own problems.

Cutting waste is fine with me. The federal government isn’t suppose to be taking care of all these things because education, agriculture, etc should be dealt regionally. The federal DOE doesn’t even have direct say in what schools in Hawaii need to do. That’s what are state DOE is for.

None of that has been cut. All these articles always say “possible” or “at-risk” yet none of it has been cut.

Hawaii is one of the highest taxed if not the highest taxed state in the country. Where is all that money going? How can the state not fund agriculture, our own national parks, etc?

Our problems are local and yet we do nothing about it. We can’t even get the rail done on schedule, our roads are in disrepair, education is terrible, we have more and more locals moving to the mainland, we have more native Hawaiians outside of the state than within. So much our local government are not doing. They are happy to get the blame off themselves and project it somewhere else.

So what is this protest trying to an achieve exactly? Very broad statements. Aren’t a lot of people in this sub all about bringing agricultural and other work besides tourism in Hawaii?

I’m curious because I see these post about some protest in r/Hawaii and r/Honolulu weekly. It seems performative and we just pat ourselves on the back for just having it.

It’s funny how Tariffs are terrible idea yet every country has them on us. It seems like every leftist wants the success of other countries while hoping for the failure of the one they live in.

What’s the point if Americans back home can scrap a living. Somehow “taxing” the rich will not raise prices on goods but tarrifs is considered a tax and will raise prices on goods. Both will raise prices it’s just that the latter “sounds” more enticing even though prices will go up in both.

You don’t get investment and training in a night, week, month, or even a year. The outsourcing of our manufacturing took decades.

if you are looking for instant fix that is the be problem. It’s an issue that Americans look at what’s best on a quarterly bases and not long term.

Interesting all this talk of the Us being the “richest” economy in the world yet we have out of control debt in both the public and private space. We also have Americans not being able to afford housing and living paycheck to paycheck.

There is a clear policy, free trade via no tariffs on the US and bring back manufacturing in the US.

Chaos is manufactured by people who are their money outsourcing work to pay brown people $35 a month.
