Mortal Kombat Hot Takes
 in  r/MortalKombat  Jan 04 '25

That Mortal Kombat should've gone the Shaolin Monks route and transitioned away from being a fighting game and transitioned to being a Darksiders, Devil May Cry, Bayonetta, or God of War type game.

I like the throwback uniform design, but I dislike that the orange and blues of the helmet, jersey, and pants don't seem to match.

Basically the Gell-Man Amnesia Effect.

What's with the relentless clickbait headlines worshipping Netanyahu and disparaging Biden? Did Bibi prevent October 7th? No. Has he defeated Hamas yet? No. Has he defeated Hezbollah yet? No. Has he defeated Iran yet? No. Has he ethnically cleased Gaza and the West Bank (like he'd like to) yet? No. What's he accomplished other than thumbing his nose at the Obama and Biden Administrations and the UN? I'd argue not much. Israel has a long road ahead of itself. And decapitation strikes aren't as effective as people seem to think they are. Remember the most wanted Iraqi playing cards? All but four died or were captured, but did that end the Iraq War quickly or cleanly? Not at all.

What are the strategic calculations going on in the middle east, right now?
 in  r/geopolitics  Oct 02 '24

Israel would become a pariah state if it commits a nuclear first strike against Iran. The entire world would boycott, divest, and sanction Israel into the dirt. Neither the Republicans nor the Democrats have a problem with Israel smashing Iranian proxies. They'll provide air and naval support. They won't put boots on the ground. However the United States isn't interested in a war with Iran and Iran isn't interested in a war with the United States. Both understand Israel is trying to bait the United States into attacking Iran and are trying to avoid it.

Are there any similar games that have lots of players to QC
 in  r/QuakeChampions  Sep 11 '24

So weird. If I wanted to die and wait to play, I'd play CS.

Because it was inspired by a slew of popular Japanese video game franchises (Mario & Luigi, Touhou Project, Mother 2/Earthbound, Shin Megami Tensai, Cave Story, etc.). Also the OST is great. It's a good enough game. Right place, right time.

Calling men "pornsick" is a distraction from the fact that social media has over-exposed women to choice
 in  r/PurplePillDebate  Jul 25 '24

There's no debate to be had. If you want a romantic partner, you have to do some combination of improving yourself, lowering your standards, or searching harder. That's it.

The dating market sucks. I sympathize. And we all like to vent from time to time. But at the end of the day, it's better to focus on what you can change and ignore what you can't.

Both sexes are too pornsick and over-exposed to choice.

Kamala Harris’s White-Boy Summer
 in  r/neoliberal  Jul 24 '24

"Michigan has more than 200,000 Muslim American voters — 146,000 of whom turned out to vote in 2020 –— according to an analysis by Emgage, an organization that seeks to build the political power of Muslim Americans. Biden won Michigan — a state that narrowly went to Donald Trump in 2016 — by 155,000 votes."

It's not nothing. He might help in Pennsylvania, but he might hurt in Michigan. He may still be selected. I've got no horse in this race.

Muslims in Michigan might not show up because of his pro-Israel statements.

With the Halo TV show now cancelled (At least, for now). How would you do a live action Halo adaptation? Movie or Show? Ether one is fine.
 in  r/fixingmovies  Jul 23 '24

To do the series justice, it should be a movie tetralogy (The Fall of Reach, Halo 1, Halo 2, Halo 3).

If you had to do a televsion show, maybe cover The Insurrection or Contact Harvest.

Realistically, it should be animated.

I found some of his health advice interesting, especially in relation to light, but I took everything with a grain of salt. I didn't buy or care for any of the products he was promoting.

I rolled my eyes when I saw a YouTube short of him working out without a shirt on. The only comment he made that rubbed me the wrong way was something to the effect that most (or perhaps the average) person would merely amount to be consumers. It was pretty condescending/rude and really didn't need to be said. Revealed a not so nice thought pattern.

What's a trade that pretty much everyone knew was going to be a disaster from the get-go?
 in  r/nfl  Mar 07 '24

Honestly might be the single worst front office decision in NFL history. Certainly the worst in Bengals' history, other than hiring Tiger Johnson over Bill Walsh maybe.

God I hate Paul and Mike Brown.

Has anyone else noticed their parents becoming really nasty people as they age?

Andropause, CTE/TBI from contact sports, lead poisoning, long Covid, secondary PTSD from veteran parents with PTSD, obesity leading to untreated sleep apnea and early dementia.

Is there any sequel to a game that was so superior that it made playing the previous game a waste of time?

I liked the vibe, but unfortunately the frame rate is horrendous.

**The Game Awards - Discussion Thread**
 in  r/pcgaming  Dec 08 '23

Not him/her, but you have three big live service games (Final Fantasy 14, Fortnite, and Genshin Impact) that could have won Best Ongoing Game, but a non-live service game with a rocky release won instead. Cyberpunk 2077 may be "most improved," but releasing a buggy, arguably unfinished game and then fixing it does not deserve a pat on the back.

"Awarded to a game for outstanding development of ongoing content that evolves the player experience over time." It might technically qualify for the award, but live service games better fit the spirit of the award. Not saying there couldn't be an exception theoretically, but Cyberpunk 2077 ain't it.

What game has the most anticlimactic ending?
 in  r/gaming  Nov 27 '23

I could be misremembering things, but I could've sworn they had to rebuild their engine mid-development, which is why the E3 trailer stuff wasn't in the game (in the same way) and it also contributed to there not being enough time to finish all the missions and thus the cliffhanger ending.

Which American city has the worst downtown/city center and why?
 in  r/geography  Nov 10 '23

Miami Valley native. Worked in Cincinnati for a number of years. Completely agree. Grimmy because it's a river city. Cluttered and poorly laid out because it was settled in 1788.

[Q4All]What are your thoughts on “Foodie Calls”?
 in  r/PurplePillDebate  Nov 03 '23

For foodie calls in particular, I would bet women have men beat due to opportunity due to gender norms.

But yes, there are more men with ASPD, psychopathy, and NPD. However, there are more women with BPD and HPD. Anti-social behavior is expressed differently between the sexes and on a spectrum. ASPD in women is sometimes misdiagnosed as BPD or HPD. It's all a little blurry.

A lot of harmful people out there, men and women.
