For context, my Employer normally does Interest-Based Bargaining (IBB) and it's with the whole suite of upper management. I personally have no experience with IBB, but from what I have heard, it's bad and a waste of time. Only works when both parties act in good faith. We opted for traditional bargaining, and it freaked our employer out into hiring two attorneys to represent them in bargaining. They probably make $200/hr, if not more. So now it's 99% lawyers talking with silent head nodding from upper management.

The lawyers have told us plainly that they don't know our contract that well. They need a lot of handholding to understand the basics of our working conditions and contract. For instance, they didn't know what shrink is.

Grocery shrink is unsellable food that gets passed down to staff. At our store, 75% goes to shelters and 25% to staff. It's mostly stale bread and moldy produce. We proposed that we get more packaged shrink (ie. more prepared foods items, higher quality food) because so many of our staff rely on shrink for food since we are paid so poorly.

At the end of bargaining, the lead attorney said "Next meeting is at dinner time, so you guys better bring your shrink!" Like haha you guys are poor and have to rely on rotten food to survive. So awful.

At least we can tell workers about it and feed the rage machine.

Meet Kow! The light of my life.

Hi there! Back in December we adopted a cat for my son named Tater Tot. Last summer our cat of 14.5 years passed away and he missed having a cat around. My son was volunteering at a shelter and that’s where we found this goofy goob. He’s the funniest cat I’ve ever met and he’s been such a joy to have around. I love that it looks like he got into a cup of chocolate pudding around his mouth. Shelter said he’s around 3 years old.

I just had to move out of my apartment where I was allowed to have cats but only 2 and had to pay $40 for each. Now I know I’m bad I didn’t tell them I had 4. But I guess I didn’t think this all the way through when I kept getting cats and now I’m up to 4. How am I going to find a place that’s going to let me bring 4 cats without being deceitful and lying about how many I have. Now I can say all day long I have the best cats, they don’t fuck shit up, ruin furniture or walls or ever go to the bathroom outside their box and never fight and are loud. Now saying all this who wouldn’t tell a potential landlord all this right? I’m just kinda stuck right now. I’m living with my sister in law who owns her condo so staying here is always an option but if I wanted my own apartment does anyone have an suggestions or gone through this with more than 2 cats. And getting rid of them is NOT an option no never ever not at all won’t even entertain the thought, don’t even type it! Thanks 😻
