SES 307
I am a mechE student and I wanted to take a more hands on class next semester. Has anyone taken SES 307, if so how was it?

Please use this thread to ask any random questions you have that may not warrant their own posts, or if you want opinions on something non-ASU related (as long as its SFW).
All Sun Devil Rewards answers and key words will need to be kept within this weekly discussions post as to not overwhelm the sub.
Please feel free to use this thread for any housing needs/inquires/concerns as well!

I absolutely love building Arduino-based projects — coding microcontrollers, integrating sensors, motors, displays, etc., and sometimes combining them with 3D-printed parts for cool robotics or smart devices.
So, I’m trying to figure out which degree would better align with what I love doing.
My key questions:
Also, is it possible to switch majors at ASU easily if I change my mind after starting?
I'd really appreciate advice from current students or anyone working in the field!

I’m thinking about retaking MAT 211 this summer, but this time in person.
I took it online through ASU before and honestly, it was awful. Felt extremely self-taught, and I struggled to keep up without any real guidance. So now I’m debating whether I should try the in-person version at ASU or just look for a community college that offers it over the summer instead.
A few questions for anyone who’s taken it in person:
• Is it just as hard, or does being in a classroom help a lot?
• Do they still use Pearson/MyLab for homework and quizzes, even in person?
• Has anyone taken it at a community college and transferred it in? Was it any better?
Just trying to figure out what the best move is.
Applying to the film and media studies graduate program online, and was curious if my chances of acceptance are killed if I don't give them the two-three letters of rec it says I could give? Says it's optional. I had a 3.9 GPA in my undergrad, and am going to do the essay and letter of intent. I have like two instructors at best from film school I could reach out to (many have since left the school) but was wondering if ASU online is tough or easy to get into before I write a couple of "hey former teach, been a second, can you help me out here" emails.

Hello,
I am graduating this May with my Bachelor’s in Counseling and Applied Psychological Science. I want to get my Master’s in Counseling at ASU Online. Do you guys recommend to get it at ASU? Also does anyone know the cost of tuition? I’d have to get a student loan for all of it so I’m wondering. If you guys have any feedback, I’d appreciate it a lot.
Thank you

I lost my keys yesterday at the event. I have a tracker on them and last time it registered was 9 hours ago at the sdfc field but idk if they’re still there. Where could I go or who could I ask to get them back?

Hey all,
I initially accepted my spot at ASU but later enrolled at a different university. I notified ASU about my choice.
I never saw the emails about the $250 enrollment fee since they were sent to my old ASU email. Now it’s in collections. Does anyone know if I’m still required to pay, or any advice on how to handle this? Thanks!

I am Native American and have a ceremony in two weeks. I noticed that I have a quiz on the day I would be missing. Per the syllabus, "Missed Classes and Missed Quizzes. If you miss a class for any reason and do not wish to be penalized, you must bring a documented reason for your absence. This is especially important if there was a quiz on the day you were absent. I will schedule a make-up quiz only if you have a reasonable and documented excuse". I am also unsure of what document proof I could show besides pictures which wouldn't be till the day of.
anyways, would attending a religious ceremony be a valid excuse to miss a class and get it excused?

I'm trying to file my taxes but I am unable to view my 1098-t. I paid my tuition for my course in September out of pocket but I'm not able to see a 1098-t or even a receipt for the paid tuition on MyAsu. I'm so confused, can anyone help!

Are the complimentary photos full body or just heads hots? And how many do they typically take?

I played tennis in high school for about a year and I really miss it. I’m currently a freshman, going on my sophomore year after this semester. I’m decent, better at the net but haven’t played since I started college and not really confident in my skills atm so I likely wouldn’t join the team.
I heard there’s a club but from what I heard they’re for pretty experienced players. I still intend on trying out but are there any other options? Just curious since the tennis courts are open to regular students.

Has anyone taken this class earlier this year? I have been avoiding taking the computer science type of classes out of what I assume to be fear. I had taken one in 2022 and had to withdraw and find a different course for my degree as I couldn't keep up with the coursework and actual work. It's one of the few classes I have left for my degree and am nervous. It gives the options of ACO 100, CIS 105, CSE 180, or EDT 180.
Does anyone know if there is a possibility to add more seats to the closed sections for fall 2025? Does it happen in previous semesters?
