Posts being removed that announce public gatherings

Why? Today there is a public gathering at the Civic Plaza at 2pm. People have been trying to announce it on this sub, only to have the announcements removed because the event is political in nature. Is this a new subreddit rule?

Edit: This is the post that was removed. NOTE: I just now added the red line to the word pr*t*est just in case that terrible word triggers the bots.

Second Edit: The image was deleted again. Let's try this again.

The NM sub is way worse. Half of my posts won't even show up if they lean the "wrong" way. And they're definitely NM related.
You can't call out the obvious racists and bigots. Hell, you can't even write the words "racists" and "bigots." Or say anything disparageing about the orange one or the muskrat. At least I can't.
Free speech? Only if it's "approved."
Some guy started a new NM sub because of the hold back in the OG NM sub: r/New_Mexico_.
Join and post in it if you want to say your piece without being automodded and/or getting your comments deleted or getting temporarily banned.

I can see how too much can be a thing. I just took a look at that sub and there's 5 hands off posts in less than a week. Most of the sub is all the same stuff we're seeing on news subs and others all over Reddit too. The same Trump, Musk, doge headlines with a pretty picture of New Mexico sprinkled in here and there.

Some balance wouldn't hurt. Spamming posts and topics isn't going to be as engaging as moderating how much of it there is unless that's the sole purpose of the sub. If the intent of the new sub is just going off about politics and posting the same stuff we see every day anyway, then cool. 🤷🏻

It would be nice if the main sub was being a little more open too, of course. I don't know how much they're removing. Squashing dissent and important topics that affect us isnt helping anyone, but if they're just keeping the sub from looking like the second, then it's hard to blame them for not letting users spam the sub with nothing but politics.

I hate to break it to you, but politics is part of New Mexico. We have to stay informed, staying in the dark about the world or NM goings on is no bueno.
And there's a lot of cross-postings on that sub right now because it just started up. It's not going to have pure original content until it gets more members, more traction.

You wouldn't believe how many of my comments were deleted and/or didn't show in the NM sub.
We're adults (most of us) we should be able to cuss or call out others' idiotic "opinions." Within reason, of course. Once you start getting personal or threatening, I understand.

Hold on a minute, and I'll link some of my NM posts that were shut down or not even posted at all.

https://www.reddit.com/r/NewMexico/s/y17zpChc9c

https://www.reddit.com/r/NewMexico/s/pBxFAvnlrT

https://www.reddit.com/r/NewMexico/s/HYlQDKx42C

https://www.reddit.com/r/NewMexico/s/3yp8sQ5enJ

And there were a few more that I deleted in frustration.

Granted, some of those were posted in the city subs, but not everyone follows those subs.
And why were they not "allowed" in the NM sub in the first place, they're NM related?

Its funny seeing all your posts being deleted and then seeing the NM sub with 3 political (right leaning) posts all in the first page right now. Ridiculous.
