I'm in love with the idea of a necromancer wandering the wilderness dragging along a crate full of corpses to be used in combat. Kinda like Faust from Shaman King mixed with Monty Python.
"Oh no, the necromancer has collected enough bodies for an undead army! Whatever shall we do?!"
"Well actually, I can only raise like 8 of them at a time and turn a few more into mushrooms... But if they all die, I CAN do that again, after a good nap."
Then I take it you didn't know they had a remake anime in 2023?
The original anime, like many of it's time, ended before the source material so it made up it's own ending. The popularity of Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood and Dragon Ball Kai incentivized a few studios to re-adapt a few other series.
Shaman King got such a treatment, but unfortunately it expects you've either seen the original or read the manga & mostly skips over shared content to get to the new stuff.
Interesting I actually don't watch much anime but use to read tons of Manga Shaman King included back when Shonen Jump first came over to the states. I never finished it but it's on my to read list for sure. Thank you for the info though I might check out the newer Anime once I reread it.
