Is this a good lease offer from the dealer?

I've been seeing a lot of talk in this subreddit about lease offers in the $600 range, but I haven't found anything along those lines. Are these pre tax monthly payment amounts everyone is talking about?

My dealer offered me the following deal.

MSRP: $101,725

LEV: 54%

Lease end value: $54,931.50

Selling price: $97,300

Rebate amount: $11,400

Adjusted Cap Cost: $85,900

Lease Factor: 0.00026

Total Tax Window: $3959.31

Base Monthly Rental: $896.86

Initial Fees: $1,215

Amount Due at Start: $6151.17

Any thoughts/suggestions on it?

Also... the brokers aren't giving me anything substantially different either btw...

Edit: Location is NY and it is a 2025 model.

Looking to lease. Help!

As the title states, I am in the market to lease a new car and the ix has really caught my attention. I've driven it and love it, so I'm now in the market to negotiate a lease deal. I found a 2025 x50 service loaner with about 6k miles on it, $99k MSRP and "online price" of $82.5k at a local dealership.

I've never leased a car before but I don't drive a ton and I've read the lease deals on electric cars are amazing. I would like to put $0 down and I'm willing to make multiple security deposits if needed.

My ask is, what's a good lease deal for this? I'm in NY/NJ area. Im assuming I can negotiate lower on the selling price, but honestly have no idea what monthly payment would be a "good deal".

BMW Warranty / tire mobility kit / blown fuse

Hi All,

We had a flat the other day, and pulled out the tire mobility kit to use the compressor.

During the inflation process, the compressor blew the fuse for both 12V outlets, center console and rear cargo area.

BMW has indicated that the fuse was blown due to "outside influence" declaring their own tire mobility kit and compressor to be outside the warranty. Cost to replace one fuse is $350.

I've escalated to BMW corporate for a response.

In the meantime, probably best to call roadside assistance and cost them money rather than try and limp along with the tire mobility kit on your own. It would have cost them more to tow me to the tire place than to replace this one fuse.

Just picked up this new to me 2022 iX50 (DAPP, Convenience, Dynamic Handling). I’m coming from a 2015 335i and I still love that car but this EV is a classy space beast.

We have a toddler and dogs so the space in this car is great. The handling feels good and I’m still getting used to not having buttons and the EV charging habits.

Thank you to everyone who replied to posts during my hunt, it was super helpful.

*This is probably not the most flattering photo of the car but I liked the perspective and background.

the HUD should really display lane change warnings

Coming from another EV with a HUD that did just that has been an adjustment for me. Love the car otherwise, just a few quality of life things here and there I'm noticing. Suppose it could be added with a software update.

am I missing something with Assisted Driving Plus?

I am in the US (New York) and have the trial of Assisted Driving Plus. The mode is set to "Assisted Driving" and I enabled it on highways and the second I take my hands off the wheel, the "green" wheel starts flashing for me to put my hands on the wheel. Also, I've never had it change lanes - does it do that automatically or is there something I need to do to enable that?

Used iX trouble areas

Hi all!

I’m in the market for a new/slightly used car. I’ve fallen in love with the Ioniq 5 (I have for a while, but when I was last looking for a car, they came with 10k dealer markups, so I settled on a used model 3) I currently have an order for a new one, Limited AWD at a local dealership, but it could take time.

Anyway, I’ve been test driving some other cars, one of which was an i5 eDrive40 and the BMW-ness of it has not left my brain one bit, it was so nice and well-put-together it put almost any other car I’ve driven to shame.

I still prefer a sedan (the Ioniq 5 looks just enough like a hatchback to me that I don’t mind), but in my hunt I saw a 2023 iX M60 for sale about an hour and a half away with ~20k miles for a hair over 60k and it caught my eye, since it would only be a little more than the Ioniq new) It isn’t certified, but it is still at a (not BMW) dealership, if that matters.

I was wondering if there was anything I should be on the lookout for if/when I go to look at it, problem areas, secret menu items that show battery health, etc. I know tires will be a big maintenance item with this, but aside from that, I’ve read that BMW has really invested a lot lately in reliability (both EV and ICE) so I hope it will be as trouble free as my model 3 has been (aside from one battery replacement under warranty) I do intend to keep whichever vehicle I get for a long while.

Thank you all!

Had this beautiful car right after Thanksgiving 24, switched over from an Ioniq 5. Glad I did that and of course, very happy that I didn't go with a Tesla. Ha, wouldn't own a Tesla even if they pay me, lol. IMO, the iX driving experience is so much better than other EVs...

Bumped my BMW IX in parking lot

I hit my car in a office parking lot. Front grill is shattered, hood is bent and when BMW opened the car the plastic assembly in which the headlight is integrated is cracked. My insurance has reviewed visually (based on pics) and gave an estimate of $5k. BMW collision center gave an estimate of $29k (their recommendation is to replace the light instead of fixing the cover - and each light cost $6500). Plus their are few other things that are damaged too. I was not expecting BMW collision center will give such a big estimate. Attaching the pics. What options do I have to get my car fixed? Ideally, I want all OEM parts.

Suggestions to deal with insurance? This is the first time I am dealing with insurance.

Has anyone ordered a bmw ix 2026 from the US recently? Could you share your experience?

I made an order one week back and the status went back to order received after it was scheduled for production.

Thanks

The funniest thing was getting into my car at an ice cream place. I was parked facing a picnic table with a nice family eating ice cream. As soon as I put my car in reverse, they all jumped.

2026 iX xDrive60. How is this lease deal?

Post image
0 Upvotes

This was my local dealer in California. I'm mainly considering a 3 year 12k mile lease. I requested a quote from a popular broker that posts on here and he sent me the following:

BMW Lease Estimate:
$1,129/month | $4,199 due at signing ($0.00 down + first month and taxes)

• MSRP: $97,875.00
• Term: 36 months
• Mileage: 12,000 miles
• Discount: 10.0% off MSRP
• Residual Value: 53.0%
• Incentives: $8,500.00
• Tax Rate: 9.13%
*Subject to change based on credit score and exact DMV/tax rate of your city/state.

The broker is charging a $1,000 fee and and wants me to pay him the fee before he confirms the deal, although he promised the price will be within $5-$10 of the monthly fee he quoted assuming I have a 700+ credit score.

We do own another BMW so we do have the loyalty discount I believe. Not sure if the dealer forgot to include that or not, but I think it's basically another $1,000 on the rebate if we qualify for that.

I was also told that the offers change every month and they are not sure what will happen next month due to tariffs. I know there are killer deals on the 2025 model, but I'm more interested in the 2026 model.

Was wondering if anyone had any insight or advice on this on getting the best deal on a 2026 model. Anyone else had better luck on a 2026 model with their lease numbers? Much appreciated!

2015 BMW i8 – SME & Safety Box confirmed failed, EME not communicating. What’s the smartest repair path?

Hi all,

Looking for advice or shared experience from anyone who’s dealt with high-voltage system failures on the i8 or similar BMW hybrid/electric platforms.

Vehicle:

2015 BMW i8

~35,000 miles

Located in the U.S.

What’s been done so far:

The car had been sitting for a while. I recently replaced the 12V battery, and the dealership was able to run diagnostics.

They confirmed that both the SME (battery management electronics) and Safety Box inside the HV battery have failed and need to be replaced.

The EME (electric motor electronics) currently has no communication, so they cannot test or confirm if it's functional until SME and Safety Box are replaced.

Dealer’s quote:

SME + Safety Box replacement: $6,867.80 + tax

If EME is also bad: $15,276.09 + tax

So worst-case: ~$22k+ just for parts

❓My main question: What’s the smartest way to approach this kind of repair?

I’m trying to decide if it’s worth:

Proceeding with just the SME/Safety Box first and hoping EME comes back online

Trying to source used/refurbished parts (SME or even EME) from trusted sellers

Looking for independent BMW/hybrid specialists who can diagnose or test EME before spending $7k+

Skipping the whole process and parting ways with the car (though I’d rather avoid that)

I understand these components are high-voltage and sensitive, but this repair path feels very all-or-nothing. Would appreciate any experience, advice, or leads on smarter ways to approach it.

Thanks!

If I set departure time at 7:10 AM, does the car prep itself from 7:00-7:30 am? Or does it shut off everything at 7:11 AM?

Car Play Issue

I've got a 23 IX and I love it, but does anyone else have issues with the Car Play cutting out? It happens everyday on my commute to work at the exact same spot. My guess is there's a fire station on the other side of the highway, and that may have something to do with it. Just curious if anyone else has this issue.

Android Auto questions

After a couple months of using the car I have come to realize that both iDrive and AA have pros/cons. I love iDrive navigation, but maps are outdated so I often need to go to android auto for better maps and routing. On the other hand AA takes over media controls and the AA spotify pauses every time I get a navigation voice guide, and I much prefer iDrives solution where the volume lowers and I can still hear whatever is there on spotify and the navigation instruction.

My questions are: 1) Is there a way to disconnect android auto from the car? AFAICT I can only end it from the phone, which is really dumb if true. 2) is there a way to make it so that spotify does not pause when getting navigation instructions on AA?

Hello, today after returning home felt strange smell of rotten eggs in my garage. I was tyring to fiure out where it comes from and found out that it comes from my IX. Smell was coming from underneath the hood and batery was making some boiling-like noise.

Took the car to the dealer. I was told thay will take a look at the car in 5 days. When started driving to the dealer found a small pool of liquid under the car. .

Have anyone encountered this type of problem ? Im pretry sure it is low voltage battery, but then i wounder what might caused the leak which is quite strong.

Show Apple Maps in Cockpit Display

Post image
10 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

In my 2025 iX, I have CarPlay activated on the main display and for the cockpit display I have it set the Content to Map. But the only time I can get Apple Maps to show in the cockpit display is if I’m doing turn by turn. And when the turn by turn is done, Apple Maps continues to stay. But when I turn off the car, leave, get back in at a later time, with CarPlay on and everything the cockpit maps defaults back to the BMW maps and not Apple Maps. Photo attached. You can see on the right side it’s Apple Maps but the cockpit is showing BMW maps.

How can I have it be Apple Maps all the time for the cockpit display?
