Honestly it must have been during the pandemic considering all the social distancing and face masks, so that year must've been dark and this an amazing highlight. Parts of humanity really came together for folks and I am grateful for those who choose to good at that time and choose to do good now.

We did a car parade for a friend's son's 6th birthday during that time. He was so bummed he couldn't have a party, so we all decorated our cars and slow rolled by while my friends put his favorite music on an FM transmitter, so we were all blasting the same stuff. I went through a lot of cardboard and tempera paint making my Land Rover into a tank. His best friend's dad brought a classic wooden bed pickup and filled it with hay and scarecrows holding signs saying happy birthday. Someone brought an actual parade float. Every kid in the neighborhood was out in their front yards to watch us go by. It was such a bright moment in what was a very dark time. You're right about that.

I think the little boy was going through chemo... Just from what I saw... No confirmation. If that were the case though it could explain the masks.
