And of course when baby begins to walk for the first, they very strong and steadily stand themselves from the floor and walk a few feet. Everything checks out.
Iām not saying this video is real, because of so many other things, but my eldest childās first steps were to walk across the whole of our front room whilst watching TV and eating a chew toy. Got it on film and everything.
Yeah, mine was balancing giant stacking rings on her arms and did an entire loop around our living room with her arms out like sheād been walking for years. Also on video.
I know someone who works in daycare. She says they very frequently see the kids stand up and walk long before the parent comes in thrilled about what they saw at home.
Oh its "real" in that its a baby walking. But chances are the baby started walking like this prior to the video. The mom knows how popular videos are of catching a baby's first steps. So she set the scene and then claims it's the baby's first steps, when actually it is more like the 3rd or 4th time its walked.
Iāve heard from some of the teachers at my kidās daycare, that sometimes kids are walking there weeks if not months before they start doing it at home. They donāt tell the parents because they donāt want to ruin the moment for them. Not saying thatās what happened with yours, but I never really thought about the possibility of some āfirstsā happening at daycare without me knowing.
Apparently my youngest has been using the bathroom at daycare for weeks and we had no idea. Heās only used it twice at home and it wasnāt easy. Really kid?
That is EXACTLY how my son started too, he just got up and propelled himself forward, walked a few feet and then fell. There's nothing suspicious about it.
I mean, mine pulled up and scooted along things like the couch for several months before finally letting go and actually walking. Pulling up and using couch to move didn't count as first steps (I asked). So, if baby has been doing something similar, it's not outside the realm of possibility that he could get up without toppling when he finally decides to go for it.
Well, this is just based on my experience. Iāve had a lot of children in my family, and I personally have never seen a baby do this. It requires the balance, strength, and coordination to just stand up and begin to walk. Iāve personally never seen a baby do that without practice. Anyone who cannot admit it is extremely unlikely that a baby who will do something like this the first time walking is being disingenuous.
My mom said I was a walked a lot as soon as I took my first steps. I didn't talk much, but I had strong legs and would run around everywhere when my legs were developing still. My mom had a hard time catching up to me. Some babies just have stronger legs than others
According to my mother, I just came walking into the kitchen one morning. Of course I dob't have any memory of tid myself. š Apparently I was also a master of escaping my cot.
It's been pointed out already but just to reiterate, unironically yes. There's usually a month or two of pulling to stand and 'cruising' along furniture that act as precursors to free walking.
Babies naturally build up their muscles and balance before taking their first proper steps. The first time my daughter walked properly, she went a good 20 feet, and was trotting around like she owned the place within days.
This is exactly what my son did and I have it on video because we had security cams in our living room. He went from crawling and pulling himself to standing with furniture to one day standing up from the ground and taking a few steps towards me while I was sitting on the floor. He hadnāt walked at all before then. And it looked exactly like this. Itās very normal for babies to not be doing something one day to the next doing it well. Itās very normal development.
What is likely happening here is the mother is intentionally filming with the hope of capturing their childs first steps, or the child already walked once before without it being on film, so they settled with catching the next time.

I highly doubt the mother was passing this off as some "accidental" moment she captured.
