Dear Members,
Congratulations on achieving 2 Million Members milestone. To be honest, its too soon to celebrate as we had 1 Million celebrations on 4th April 2024 and now we are here with another Million celebration.
Still, 2M is a HUGE achievement and we are 2nd Indian Subreddit to reach this milestone. You can make Posts to celebrate 2M and this includes Meta posts as well. Celebration will continue till Sunday and then we go back to normal.
There is a lot of chatter about PR and how they influence this Subreddit. Mods have requested me to address this issue. I will try to address most commonly asked questions . If your question is not answered here, you can ask them in comments. However, please don't ask a question that is already addressed here.
1. Are Mods aware of PR on Sub?
Yes, we are more aware than any normal member about PR. They have been trying to figure out Reddit since this Sub became mainstream. The good thing is that Reddit is more complicated, PR can't spam it, like they do with Twitter Bots or IMDB. They can't send 200 copy paste comments from Bots and change the narrative here.
Mods are experienced and trained to spot PR activity and we take action once we see someone is trying to influence Subreddit. Be assured, we are in control.
2. What are PR activities that only Mods can see
Members only see what is posted on Sub. We also see Posts and comments that are auto removed by Reddit filters.
A recent example that we saw on r/Bollywood was Review bombing by PR on Trailer, Posters and Reviews Megathread.
We saw a pattern in every movie Reviews thread and it continued for few months. Most Reviews were from low Karma accounts, so we banned them and their comments were auto removed. We have increased Karma on Bollywood and keep strict eye for Review manipulation.
A recent Mod post explained why took all Reviews on r/Bollywood. This was also one of the primary reasons that we didn't disclose in the post. Link to Mod post
3. You do so many AMAs, how could you not be connected to PR
Mods do not get in touch with Celeb Managers for AMA. There's a India Reddit team, they are paid by Reddit and their job is to bring Celebs for AMA. We simply HOST AMAs. We don't contact Celebs or their managers even during AMA. Team Reddit is the contact.
Even if an agency contacts us for AMA, we send them to Reddit's AMA team and they coordinate with Celebs and their managers.
Another reason why we don't contact managers is because we want to remain anonymous. None of the Mods want to give their phone number to PR. All Managers need a contact number to coordinate, so we avoid getting involved with AMA.
4. Why is "Calling member as PR" a ban. If Mods accept there is PR on Sub, shouldn't we allowed to call out PR?
Mods accept that there is PR but we never said "Everyone is PR". Please understand that we aren't major target for PR as they know they can't change our opinions and we are not as mainstream as you think.
This was the first Ban rule that I made on this Subreddit because any criticism was dismissed as "Rival PR" and any praise was labelled as "PR post". This completely kills the discussion and goes into abuse and insulting exchange.
If you suspect someone to be PR, REPORT them. We have lot of OG tea and controversial topics posted against popular stars. If we don't have this rule, nothing will get posted and discussed, except everyone calling each other a "PR"
5. How do Mods ensure a "Fan Mod" stays unbiased
We select our Mods carefully. Most Mods are long term members before they became Mods. We know if they are fan or prefer some stars. When they join Mod team, they are given extensive training on Rules. Most Mods, who identify as fans, don't take action like Ban or even post removal of rival fandom. We have a Mod Chat, where they send link to other Mods, to decide what to do.
The so called "Mod Power" is not in one Mod's control.
Every Mod can look at ALL actions taken by any Mod. For example, I can look at "All Bans by Gossip-Luv" in one panel.
Every Mod action is recorded on each post. All Mods can see who approved/removed a post. If you have ever moderated a Sub, you would know that it is impossible to hide mod action. Mods worry about their own integrity than any fan war.
6. What if PR pays Mods?
PR has to first find a person to pay. Who will PR pay?
A huge Subreddit like ours is run by team of Mods. PR can't guess who all are active Mods. I am on top of Mod list but I don't Moderate this Sub. The ones who actively moderate, stay in background. The most active Mod has not made a single comment on Sub. Trust me, PR or anyone can never figure out who they should pay.
Suppose, PR pays all Mods to praise Shanaya Kapoor. Do you think Mods can make this happen? Lets say, Mods allow 20 posts praising Shanaya, do you think Shanaya will become popular because 20 Reddit posts say so?
You all begin calling out people if they make 2 positive comments on someone, do you think such paid agenda will be successful here?
If we allow such posts, this Subreddit will be dead in 2 months. Mods understand you all are here because this Subreddit is neutral. We understand that people join this Sub, because it is the only place left on internet, that is not controlled by PR.
We won't kill the USP of this Subreddit. You aren't a sheep that could be blindly led to PR agenda. Give some credit to yourself and Mods.
7. So many fans are already banned here, isn't this bias
We don't ban anyone because they are a "Stan or Fan". Most fans who got banned were found doing Anti Subreddit activity, Ban evasion, sending threats to Mods and a few boasting about their " High up connections" that can get this Sub banned. One person can have good comment history and they can be absolutely rude on Mod mails and DMs.
We unban everyone after 30 days, if they don't engage in above activities. We also urge "fans" to make variety of posts in other Bollywood Subs and this Sub, to present their case for unban.
If you have doubt on why some people are back from Ban, check their Post history. A good contribution in Posts would always gets you Unban here.
8. A word about Copyrights removal of Posts
Copyrights takedown is a common thing on Reddit because we have become mainstream. All IPL performance posts are taken down as Cricket related things are heavily monitored on Reddit
Movie shooting leaks of Anurag Basu and Kartik Movie is also taken down and we respect it. If Producers encourage leaks, they aren't' taken down because they want to use leaks to create hype.
A screenshot of confirmation from Admins about removal of Vicky Kaushal Post
Lastly, we are not managing this Subreddit as per our own Whims and caprices. There's a Reddit India Admin team that oversees how a Subreddit is managed. They can remove Mods and even Ban a Subreddit if its not following Rules set by Reddit. Here's appreciation from Admins.
AMA is open now, you can ask questions about Rules, how this Sub is managed....I and other Mods will try to answer it.

Yesterday we celebrated April Fool's day and we didn't fool anyone with our Posts about Reshma Shetty taking over this Subreddit. Still, we had lots of complaints about "Why are Vicky Katrina on Sub's Icon".
Ammi jaan kehti hai, be careful what you wish for.
Yesterday, a post was removed by Vicky Kaushal PR. It was old post about his claim of "How I could have died under 100 horses" and a scene with him riding a wooden horse. Link to Removed post
Let me clarify that the Post was removed by Reddit yesterday, doesn't have anything to do with our little prank about Reshma Shetty PR taking over us. Reddit must have received complaint a few days back and post was removed yesterday . Its a coincidence.
This is my reply, from entire Mod Team, in response to the post removal. We are not going to contest this post removal, as we don't care enough and its Vicky's loss.
Dear Mr Katrina,
It looks like you have started taking your "Superstardom" bit too seriously. You are not the first one to falter on first step. Your PR has been annoying in background of this Subreddit for sometime. We ignored it, because we are biased for outsiders and yes, we consider you as outsider as you are not a "Star Kid" and we have soft spot for good actors, who have made their way up from character roles. Looks like your goodwill on Subreddit has ended now.
We see you, when your PR subtly inserts "Couple Goals". You are lucky that your competition was RSDP, who have been victim of their own excessive PR. Let me say, you are successful in your "Green Forrest Goals" till now. Let us see how long it lasts. Because, there's expiry date on everything.
Your PR got "Salman pushing Vicky" video removed too and we didn't care because no one has sympathy for Salman here. In fact, someone had fun posting a "Ronaldo ignoring Salman" video as retaliation. Salman didn't get that video removed, because Superstars don't care what a small Subreddit is saying about them.
We have very damaging Videos of SRK, in fact, a lot of them get posted every month. SRK, who is real Superstar, never took any post down. We mods remove it due to "done to death" repost rule.
Your video was not damaging at all. If your team took time to read comment section, it was all in your favour. No one expects you do ride horse in high speed and do sword fighting. By getting that post removed, you have done disservice to the fans who posted evidence in your favour.
Why so salty about one video? If I was your PR, I would have made fun of the clip on own Insta with caption - Have you never exaggerated your efforts? Yes I had a "Thoda zyda bol dia" moment, kitna troll karoge bhai. I also did Horse riding and my back hurt so much....maaf kardo. -- This would have really killed that video, without removing it from everywhere.
If you want to become a Superstar, remember one thing- Superstar has HATERS. There is no Superstar without haters. Why do people hate you? Because you are threat to their favourites. If a comment section only has good comments, it means you are not ruffling feathers. Once your movies stop working, people will move on to the next Green Forrest. Ranveer Singh has been there, done all this.
You want to be treated like a Superstar, then behave like one. Concentrate on your movies, not on Reddit Posts.
Congratulations on unblocking a New Flair .

Letâs be realâtodayâs audience has zero patience for mediocrity, no matter how many designer lehengas or gym pap walks are involved. The âbut sheâs Srideviâs daughterâ card expired about five films ago. Janhvi Kapoor still canât act her way out of a paper bag, and yet producers keep pushing her like sheâs the next Meryl Streep. Spoiler alert: she's not.
Then there's Ananya Panday, whose film choices are as questionable as her understanding of nepotism. Shanaya Kapoor hasnât even debuted yet and already feels like a PR burnout. And donât get me started on Agastya Nandaânepotism and zero screen presence in one pretty little package.
Even Karan Johar, the original nepo dealer, is learning the hard way. His recent films with nepo leads are tanking faster than you can say âlaunch vehicle.â At this point, Dharma should just open a daycare for starkids instead of making movies.
Audiences want talent. They want fresh stories. Not another legacy kid trying to emote like a cardboard cutout. The era of âbut theyâre from a film family!â is officially dead.
Keep launching nepo kids, Bollywood. Weâll keep skipping.

Ye bandi kis muh se dusro par comment karti he. Still cannot forget how she called Radhika Apte horse like on KWK. She is so abusive and regressive. Itne is par case hue but kuchh nahi. She and Shanoo sharma set the worst examples of powerful women (or person) in my opinion.

So I was reading the autobiography of Seema Kapoor, TV writer and producer. She produced the Doordarshan cult classic Qile Ka Rahasya
She is also related to a few celebrities like Annu Kapoor, Grusha Kapoor etc
Anyway so this was when she was dating Vidhu Vinod Chopra. He had already divorced his first wife. And Seema though had met In Puri , he had dumped her for the first time
So apparently Vidhu was so territorial and possesive ( basically emotionally abusive narc in today's language) that he would share stuff about his heartbreak but won't allow her to share hers because he couldn't 'bear ' to hear about another man
And once while they were all sitting and chatting with friends ..he suddenly got up and stormed out of the room without a reason. She ran after him and asked him what happened and he yelled " you haven't looked at me for 5 whole minutes." He wasn't joking he was serious
No wonder he went on bite hands of actors later
He and Seema also gatecrashed a wedding when they had no money to eat...he would later use that situation in 3 Idiots

So I watched this video called âThe Dark Side of Bollywood PRâ by YBP Filmy, and honestly, it made me think differently about how we see some of the biggest stars in the industryâespecially the three Khans, Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, etc. (IF YOU WANT ONLY ABOUT THIS TOPIC, YOU CAN START WATCHING IT FROM 9 MINUTES AND 30 SECONDS).
PR nowadays is all about carefully crafting an imageâsometimes even rewriting public memory. Take Shah Rukh Khan, for instance. Everyone loves him for his charm and wit, but a lot of the behind-the-scenes narrativesâlike his struggles in his school when lot of political people had studied in the same place, his comebacks, even his controversies with PCâare handled so smoothly by PR that the focus always remains on his âkingâ persona.
Salman Khanâs case is even more layered. Despite his legal issues and controversies, run and hit, black buck, his PR machinery has worked overtime to keep the focus on his âBeing Humanâ charity work and mass appeal. The way his image has been preserved says a lot about the power of good PR.
Aamir Khan, meanwhile, is always seen as the âintellectualâ or the âperfectionist,â right? Thatâs not an accident. His choices, his rare public appearances, even the timing of his statementsâitâs all part of a bigger strategy to keep that image clean and thoughtful. (Like spitting on actresses hand)
Then thereâs Alia Bhatt. Sheâs incredibly talented, no doubt. But the video points out how PR has played a major role in constantly highlighting her âgirl next doorâ and ânatural performerâ imageâwhile brushing off things like nepotism debates or any career dips like sadak 2 ,shandaar and heart of stone. Itâs like her team always keeps the spotlight on her acting chops and down-to-earth persona.
Another really interesting part of the video was when it touched on Amitabh Bachchan. His story honestly stands outânot just because heâs a legend, but because his image has gone through such a dramatic transformation over the decades. Back in the day, Bachchan went through a rough patchâfinancially and reputation-wise. There were controversies (like Rekha, Amrita singh, Praveen Babi and some b grade movies like boom in 2003), political ties that didnât go down well, and a general sense that his golden era might be over. But then, something shifted. Suddenly, he was seen as this dignified, elder statesman of the industry. The angry young man turned into the wise old figure people deeply respected.
Akshay Kumarâs PR, on the other hand, leans heavily into patriotism and social responsibility. Youâll notice how heâs always associated with national holidays, social causes, and âmessage-drivenâ cinema. The video suggests this isnât just coincidenceâitâs a well-planned narrative to align his brand with values people look up to and avoid talking about his past where he used to give an engagement ring to his co actresses. This was revealed by the actresses in the magazines itself back in the day.
What really hit me was how this all shows that Bollywood isnât just about talent or success. Itâs also about how well your story is toldâand whoâs telling it. It made me more aware of how much of what we believe about celebrities is managed, polished, and sometimes even manipulated.

Once a promising debut followed by some underwhelming heavily trolled performances took away all the hype around princess Sara Ali Khan. Someone working in the industry says Amrita Singh is looking for a change of pr and talent management team since no one is interested in casting princess for films. She's enrolled Sara for a few acting lessons and is actively lobbying for roles but to no avail.
She was signed with Dharmatic but nepo god father doesn't seem interested anymore after a heavily criticised performance. Mother is keen on getting her back in the game & Sara on the other hand wants to find love & get married and is taking time off to be with her Punjab based boyfriend hoping things will end up in marriage for her.

I recently watched Main Khiladi tu anari for the first time and the chemistry was so good that they could have been the main romantic couple in the movie. I remembered Akshay telling on kwk how people thought they were gay and then low and behold I find out there's whole edits and fanfiction written on these two. Kinda crazy!

Ohhh buckle up babes, because this tea is boilingâand itâs giving desi Succession meets K3G, but with higher stakes and billion-dollar boardrooms.
Hot Tea Time: So hereâs why Anant Ambani has suddenly become the mediaâs golden boyâheâs allegedly about to be announced as the next chairman of Reliance Jio. Yep. The telecom beast. But behind the glossy press and public appearances, the vibe is far from picture perfect.
The truth? This move isnât exactly sitting pretty with shareholdersâor his siblings, Akash and Isha. Insiders say thereâs growing discomfort because, letâs face it, Anant isnât widely seen as the most âboardroom-readyâ sibling. While Akash is already leading Jio and Isha has been killing it in retail, Anant has mostly stayed in the background⌠until now.
And hereâs the kicker: Anant is already set to inherit the Jamnagar refineryâaka the crown jewel of the entire Reliance empire, the cash-printing machine, the heart of the business. So when talks of him being handed Jio too started swirling, letâs just say tension levels shot through the Antilia rooftop.
Nita and Mukesh Ambani are the ones pushing hard for Anantâs riseâespecially Nita, whoâs always been fiercely protective of her youngest. But that favoritism? Itâs creating cracks. Akash and Isha are reportedly feeling sidelined and undervalued, and the once united sibling trio is now looking more like three corners of a very tense triangle.
And hereâs the real question everyoneâs asking but no oneâs saying out loud:
Will Anant rise to the occasion⌠or follow in the footsteps of his uncle Anil Ambani? You remember Anil, right? Once a business star, now a cautionary tale. The Ambani family canât afford another misstep of that magnitudeâand this appointment could either cement Anantâs legacy or risk shaking the foundations of Indiaâs most powerful business dynasty.
Will family ties override merit? Will the empire stay unitedâor splinter from within?
Stay tuned. This isnât just successionâitâs war in slow motion.
