[Request] Answered! Interested in niche daily products
I’m looking for a product that I can carry around anywhere and use anywhere. Almost like a fidget toy but something that has a bit more use. I have a Pen Spin thing but it’s just not doing it for me. Price range can be anywhere from a couple dollars to $100. The more niche the object is the better!

Discussion What's the current best bang for buck standing desk that WFH folks love the most?
For those who currently working from home long hours a day and having a standing desk, are you happy with it?
I work remotely full time, and injured my back recently, had to take several weeks off work as I quite literally couldn't move, and now I'm back but sitting is the most difficult thing.
I'm planning to work from home long term, so i think i need to upgrade my home setup as I can no longer sit for more than 2+ hours at a time without pain.
I've heard about standing desks for last year but now i really want to get one. I can pay up to $800 and im quite curious if you have a really good one within that budget. As the title says, which options would you recommend buying right now? Thanks so much for any help.

Discussion Got a long day of travel and desperately need some earbuds with really good battery life and are very comfortable to wear for long periods at a time
Had my regular airpods die out on me a few weeks ago and decided i finally need to invest in a new pair.
Budget is around ~$150. I have a very long travel day on friday (Over 24+hrs of travel), and I really need a good set of earbuds that i can use. Really all im after is just maximum comfiness and maximum battery life. I would like some good sound quality, but i really don't need anything too ridiculous.
Edit: Sorry if i worded it weirdly, by battery life I mean how long on a single charge, not consistent use over the years. Won't be able to stop much on my travel day so I they need to last a while on a single charge.

[Request] Reccomendations for dishwashing gloves
So I'm lost on my search for a better set of dish gloves. I hate buying a new pair every few months. I have no clue what material to get or even what companies are worth supporting.
This is a need for me. My hands cannot take getting waterlogged. Cracking and bleeding from being so dry from dish soap. I have small hands as well. If anyone has a pair that they sing the praises of I'd love to read it.

[Request] Battle of the Brands
Our dryer in dying. Because we have money in the budget, we would like to buy a matching washing machine. My question is GE, Speed Queen, or Maytag? We have 2 dogs, 3 cats, and I occasionally wash my grandparents clothes. We do laundry just about every other day. I’m not really into the idea of the high efficiency machines. I like the idea of an agitator, bonus if I can remove it. I’ve had great luck with Maytags, but not sure if there is something else out there!

Vintage Aladdinette II brand new heater
Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this, and please remove if I am breaking any rules. I got this brand new in the box Aladdinette II heater donated to me from a now deceased relative. I see plenty of these are in use and for sale round the world for heating sheds etc. My question is should I use it (just for the novelty/shed heating) or because it is brand new with the box and all, should preserve/sell/donate it to a worthy cause? I’m not sure what year it is and just do not want to wreck something that should be kept in original condition. If the answer is use it, I’m all set to go with a load of paraffin!

Discussion Is it worth buying a used Bosch fridge?
Anyone got experience with buying a used fridge? I consider buying a Bosch KTR16V28 since I can get it for a very low price, but I'm not sure if its worth it
It has LowFrost technology, which minimizes ice buildup, has adjustable temparature control, is energy efficient (A+), and quiet

[Request] Printer Tragedy - yes I've searched the sub - Hoping for specific advice
I am so done with printers (aren't we all)
Without detailing the last two days of printer induced torture, I just want to ask:
Is the Brother HL-L3220CDW a decent printer?
I know no inkjet (more now than I ever have) and I know brother is the way to go for laser (have heard in person during the last two days as well - brother & laser = less hair pulling)
I ask because I am low income. This is the cheapest color laser brother printer I can find. And I am willing to save for it. I do unfortunately need color. I am just worried that even with it being brother + laser, the cheapest will leave me still sad.
I am a college student and print college studenty things. No tons of pages. But handfuls of important pages.

Vintage Looking for replacement lid for snapware
I accidentally broke my parent’s container. It says snapware on the top, but I’m not able to find the exact model or know if they even make it anymore. Just trying to see if anyone is familiar with this?

[Request] [Request] Good Quality knit blankets
Growing up I had an excellent, thick knit cotton blanket that was light for summer and when doubled up, thick enough for winter. Now I feel like everything in stores is tiny, paper thin and tears/pills horribly within a few weeks.
Any suggestions for just some good quality knit blankets that won’t fall apart in the first month of use? I’m open to seeking vintage but not sure what brands are good for that.

Discussion I want to share some info for anyone looking to use a Beyerdynamic dt109 headset for gaming, or any beyer or similar headset for pc
TLDR: search airbus to pc adapter. Easy. Below is an explanation how I found this answer.
I hate how headsets are designed to break. They are almost always made of plastic and have designed weak points that always eventually fail. I have seen a lot of people trying to figure out how to use a dt109 for gaming but they always seem to resort to extreme measure to get it to work, taking the cable apart and soldering a custom connection that can get messed up.
I learned this headset is sometimes used by pilots. The plug this uses called XLR5 is also called by pilots an airbus connection. Usually aviation headsets require power to work and adapters that go to a pc for aviation headsets are powered, a dt109 will tolerate power and still work but does not require it. I also learned pilot headsets, while expensive but affordable secondhand, are designed for an extreme degree of comfort quality and durability that even if you spent the same amount on a normal headset you would not achieve the same results of reliability and retain the ability to service the headset to repair it.
I learned for aviation there is an adapter that turns an airbus xlr5 connection to a "fixed wing" two plug connection that uses a 1/4 inch 6.35 connection for headphones like a guitar amp uses, so easy to find adapters for that to size it down to a 3.5mm, but the mic on a fixed wing plug is 3/16in or 5.23mm which has proven really difficult to find a 5.23 to 3.5mm adapter for. There are some adapter boxes you can buy that coast about as much as the adapter which will in total cost you about $100 for both which is pretty annoying.
I researched the XLR connection and how it is used, which seems largely used by professional sound and broadcasting production work. It's really hard to find affordable equipment compatible with this connection type so I was researching for a long time.
I asked around on flight sim discords and talked through what I have tried so far and we bounced ideas back and forth, nobody really was sure either what would work.
I am going to try this and report if it works for me. For reference the amp I am using is for a cheap headset the Tritton 720+ that uses a cable specific to this headset but has 3.5mm connectors, one for mic and one for headphones. This goes into the amp which uses a toslink output which makes me suspect it works as a DAC and translates analog signal into digital.
If this does not work I will report back and update this post.

[Request] Dining Table Pads - Seller Recs Needed
Hi, we inherited a dining room table and leaves from my husband's family several years ago. I'm so done with ensuring people don't put glasses or hot/cold dishes on the table when we have parties despite leaving out plenty of coasters and trivets.
I want to buy custom table pads for the table and its leaves. Most of the websites I've come across look dated, so I'm hoping for some recs of legit places. There is what I think is a brand or model stamped on the bottom, but Google yields nothing. It is about 60y old.
Any help you can provide is appreciated.

[Request] [Request] Super light weight water bottle
I need a water bottle that I can clean with the dishwasher that isn't super freaking heavy. Most of them are very heavy with metal. I tried a nalgene, it's still way too heavy than it needs to be, about 171 grams copmared to a 25 grocery store water bottle. It's for someone with a hand disability.
Thanks

Discussion BIFL Automatic women’s watch?
Wondering what your most reliable brands/items are for watches to BIFL.
Edit* but if you have one that lasts as well as you could expect an automatic one to last (are citizen eco-drive good??), then that would be cool too
Edit* I’m nickel sensitive
Edit* sorry, I guess my big thing is long-lasting low maintenance, reliable. (I may have falsely equated that to automatic in my head).

Discussion Ashley's vs LaZboy for sofa (or what other recommendation?)
i am looking at a sofa set to buy for my mom. after a couple recommendations, we went to both stores to look around. (located in washington state. needs to be a physical location so we can sit down to check them out)
right off the bat, it was obvious LazBoy was more expensive. for less features.
is there a big quality difference or something?
generally speaking, which quality is better? and how is Ashley's? (For ashley's we were looking at the Leesworth collection. For LazBoy looking at the Mackenzie Sofa)
it seems like Lazboy is 50/50 on reviews. and many say Ashley's is bad.
the household doesnt have any kids or pets. so no one will be jumping on it or smashing down on it.
Will Ashley's sofa just naturally breakdown and cushions become soft really quick?
