Forreal I'm so confused hahahaha. He also didn't want food which is even more confusing

Are you new to the area? Maybe they were expecting someone else

honestly the only thing I can come up with is that this is a Lassie-like cat, trying to call you somewhere so you can save the owners, and then being frustrated because you didn't follow. anything else doesn't make sense.

That’s exactly what i was thinking — I’ve had adopted cats who acted like this until they were well-adjusted (mostly), but one or two others who definitely wanted me to follow them. Just like with dogs, sometimes just a step or two in their direction will give you the answer — if you’re right, they’ll immediately turn and start leading, then look back to make sure you understand and are following. So amazing.

Nope he's not new. He was found abandoned when he was little by a neighbour and now it's a semi-house cat, but still showing up to say hi every now and then! Haha

"Timmy's trapped in the well! Why can't you understand?!"

Did you check on your neighbors?

I agree it definitely feels like a Lassie moment

It's possible the cat is in pain.

This is my thought. I’m actually worried about this baby

They call it "petting aggression" from being overstimulated

Had you been petting other cats or a dog recently? He might like you, but is hissing at the smell of another cat or a dog.

You shouldn’t feed cats that are obviously other peoples cat.

I had a random cat start yelling at my front door out of the blue. A very sweet and giant black cat who had a collar and was definitely a house cat. He didn't look underfed but I gave him some food anyway as I'm pretty familiar with the cats that run around this area and I didn't recognize this guy and was wondering what his deal was. After weeks of searching for his owner after he didn't leave from under my house, I was able to find out his owners abandoned him because he didn't get along with their new dog. So they left this guy out on the street for weeks in the middle of winter. I have since taken him into my home and he now has a warm and comfy place to live 😊.

I have been for 6+ years…not sure why I shouldn’t

You can cause them to be over weight and don’t know if they need special kidney food. Seemed pretty obvious

I know the neighbour and I'm updated on the cat's needs. But really seems like he just wants to say hi, not much interested in food

Nah…she’s a healthy weight. She gets a ton of exercise running around outdoors
