I found this gravestone at an old mennonite cemetery (Lancaster County, PA) a little while back. The cemetery has graves that date as far back as the mid-1700ās. I could not find any information on the grave, so it remains a mystery for now. I hope that they get their name back somehow.

Hey yall! I went to Austin last weekend and we stopped at a few small old cemeteries randomly on the way. What is this symbol at the top does anyone know? The stone is very pretty and looks clean while So many in this cemetery were smooth and unreadable.

The body was identified later as Private John Waites, 1737- October 4, 1777. Fascinating story. British soldier from Revolutionary War buried - UPI Archives

This is NOT a racial thing, although the terms coon & Coonass in this case were still used in a derogatory way against Cajun people in S Louisiana. Some members of the community embraced it though, as this stone shows

My little brother had Down syndrome. He died of pneumonia. The stone was found in my family farm. I is buried in Lysekil in a small fishing town in Sweden. We will bring small stones from his favorite beach and seashells to the grave and some flowers. And his name was the same written on his id card. Erik was a young man who loved partyās, dancing, joking, eating and he loved the police and hockey. He lived a short but independent life. He learned how to read when he was 26. And he was very emphatic and loving brother. Miss him so much. RIP little one ā¤ļø

I know this isnāt the norm hereā¦. but Iāve been intrigued by a stone in the backyard of a house near where I live. At first I thought maybe it was for Halloween, then maybe for a pet, but after getting a picture of it (best I could over the fence without being too intrusive) I believe itās a young child. Iām having trouble clearly reading the stone (it looks like 1372??). This stone has not moved in all the time Iāve lived here. The first houses were constructed on the streets where this stone is, which would have been the 1810ās. I canāt find anything indicating a grave is located here, but across the street is the business building of the original headstone maker/engraver for the city. I donāt know if the two things are connected or not. I would like to do some genealogy research on the names, but Iām having trouble reading the stone.
Can anyone help me read this stone? This is what I think Iām seeing:

The Battle of the Little Bighorn was fought along the ridges, steep bluffs, and ravines of the Little Bighorn River, in south-central Montana on June 25-26, 1876. The combatants were warriors of the Lakota Sioux, Northern Cheyenne, and Arapaho tribes, battling men of the 7th Regiment of the US Cavalry, along with their Crow, and Arikara scouts.
