Discussion Devils are made from and powered by fear, so do any of you think that a fear devil could exist within the world of Chainsaw man?

Artwork - OC See, What Makima's Contract Would Have Been...
Hereās a fun rephrasing of Makimaās contract with Japanās Prime Ministerāinspired by a post I made recently about how many ways it could be bypassed. When you break it down, Makimaās original contract is more a psychological shield than a practical one. It gives off the appearance of invincibility, but in truth, it only protects her from direct, malicious attacks. Itās perfect for predictable threatsāenemies who hate her and want her deadāand Makima knows very well she has a very long list of enemies that will gladly end her.
When you dissect her contract, you'll find that:
- It only protects against direct intent to harm.
- If someone truly wants to kill her, the damage gets redirected to a random Japanese citizen.
- But if the intent is something elseālove, devotion, delusionāit doesnāt activate.
- Thatās how Denji got her. He didnāt attack her. He loved her and never wished her any harm (Chainsaw Man, Ch. 97).
2. It doesnāt cover passive or environmental dangers.
- Disease, radiation, drowning, space, etc.āif itās not a targeted attack, sheās just as vulnerable as anyone else.
3. It's vulnerable to unconventional thinking.
- A devoted follower might kill her believing itās āfor her own good.ā
- Someone could manipulate a situation that leads to her death without laying a finger on her.
- Basically, any loophole in intent can be fatal.
4. Itās not true immortality.
- She still has to avoid harm, because her contract only triggers under specific conditions.
- Thatās why she relies so heavily on intimidation, control, and manipulation.
With this in mind, what really keeps her alive isnāt the contractāitās fear. Most people never even try to challenge her because they assume sheās untouchable. That illusion is her armor. Once you understand the limits of her contract, you realize sheās terrifying, but not unkillable.
Now, the rephrased contract featured in the artwork is just a fun "what if" I imagined. Itās meant to patch the flaws in Makimaās original dealānamely, the loopholes around intent, method, and perception. You couldnāt get her with love, accidents, devotion, or by thinking outside the box. Sheād be truly untouchableāso long as Japan had citizens left (or citizenship).
This is where things get interesting:
One of Makimaās dreams was to be eaten by Pochita. If she had this āupgradedā contract, I honestly think it might force him to do it. Either she reshapes the world through Controlāor her idol consumes her, fulfilling one of her twisted dreams. Win-win!
Pochita didnāt just refrain from eating Makima because he sensed her desire for a familyāthough thatās certainly part of it. He probably also held back because doing so wouldāve been the most catastrophic choice imaginable. Control shapes society, governs relationships, curbs behavior, and ensures survival. If Pochita had devoured and erased the concept of Control, it would have plunged the world into chaos. Not just politically or socially, but on a psychological and existential level. Without control, living beings, including devils, would lose the ability to resist their impulses. Thereād be no inhibition, no structureāonly instinct, madness, and collapse. Reality itself might unravel, dragging the world back to a primal, pre-conscious, animalistic free-for-all.
Anywho, this was just a fun thought experiment. Enjoy the art :)

Discussion The Fake Chainsaw Man has become less āhumanoidā Spoiler
galleryI was re-reading a couple of the previous Part 2 Chapters and have realised, this might also be due to Fujimoto not yet having a solid idea of what he wanted its design to be, that the Fake Chainsaw Man had become less human. In Chapter 128 you can clearly see his hands are similar to those of a human, while in Chapter 196 itās obvious that they become more akin to those of a Devil. With people speculating or maybe now itās more obvious that this may be the fear of Chainsaw Man Devil, it is interesting to see that after the incident with the Fire Devil people have shifted the perception of Chainsaw Man from a hero of mankind (ergo the human appearance in 129) to a devil which might be there for mankind (ergo the devilish appearance in 196). Is this too farfetched and a coincidence or is Fujimoto actually the Goat and deserves all glazing.

Theory Famis Goal Spoiler
I see alot of theory and i was wondering, where is it stated that notfami wants do die ? Everybody asumed that is true and I didn't find any hints. Even the last chapter only statet that she got rid of all here organs, not that she intended to die. Maybe she did just sell them to get Some money or spend them to help other humans ?
My crackpot theory is that her goal is that she wants to live. And not in a biological sense of simple being alive, but more in a human / philosophy way to life live to its fullest. The opposite of her horseman identity... Same with Makima wanting an equal relation ship while being domination and Yoru wants sex / love while being war. Thats why she likes to eat good food, doing think that she things is fun (like school festival and going to school) and thats why she hides her identity, to just live a life.
Cheers
