That’s so the children can get a good nights sleep before work tomorrow.

Goodness, you sure kicked a bees nest of Reddit China groupies with that remark.

Pointing out that something is blatantly false doesn't make someone a groupie

Oh good, I guess this is purely Sinophobic lies then. What a relief.

This article is from nearly 20 years ago mate.

Is that supposed to lead one to believe a significant change has taken place since that time? The late 2000s ain't the 1960s.

It's not supposed to lead one to believe anything, it's worthless.

It's like me talking about Apple releasing groundbreaking new tech then linking to the release of the first iPhone.

"Worthless" is a strong word. Apple updates (boy, what an unfortunate analogy to use in regards to Chinese labor conditions) and human rights aren't an airtight comparison.

It's a strong word and the correct one. This article came out at the same time as the first ever iPhone. It's no longer relevant in any way, especially considering the entire theme of this thread is how quickly China has changed.

Yeah, quickly changed since the 90s. You must be pretty young if you feel like the dawning of the Iphone till now is an expansion period of modern history.

I feel like an article from 2007 is no longer relevant today. That has nothing to do with age, it has to do with common sense.

2007 is as close to the 90s as it is to today.

Also if you feel this strongly about it I'm sure you took 5 seconds to google it and discover that China has put several laws in place and invested billions of dollars into stopping child labour. So I'm not sure why you're pretending to be ignorant on this
