title basically says it all. my mom has kept all of her laptops, and we’re booting them all up to pull pictures and important documents before disposing. opening up this Dell Inspiron 1525 was so nostalgic, and reminded me that i am OBSESSED with this keyboard. does anybody know of any similar feel external keyboard i could get for my PC? or any current laptop that might have a similar feel?

I would like to make an image to deploy on multiple machines but it seems that this model is not supported by the wyse imaging tool.

Hi! We're managing our Dell server environments with the OpenManage Enterprise software.

We now have a use case where we need to evaluate also managing non Dell servers.

Would it be possible to manage also non Dell server brands using OpenManage or is it only dedicated to Dell hardware?

Been looking into support docs and resources but find it hard to really understand how this works. Can see the Power Manager plugin supports non Dell units now but Power Management is not the full scope.

I'm about to get a Dell Pro Max Micro (that's a mouthful) and trying to find out about these SSD extender brackets/heat sinks. From the documentation it looks like the smart thing to do is have your drives in these, but I'm not about to pay an outrageous amount for a second drive just to get the bracket. I chatted up a sales rep who confirmed if I only get the system with one drive I won't get the bracket for the second drive when I decide to add one later, and they couldn't help find the product part or page where I could order later.

My question is do I really need this bracket? Normally I would just skip it, but with these Gen 5 drives getting faster and hotter than ever I'm not sure if it's a good idea. I'm also not going to wait for these brackets to end up on eBay.

The power supply on my Dell Optiplex 3040 tower has this clicking noise that occurs right after shutdown, and will not stop until the computer is turned back on or unplugged. I've got the computer used a few days ago and it has always done this even before I installed a GTX 1050 TI.

If the power supply needs to be changed/upgraded, what higher wattage OEM units could fit in this case?

I have a work laptop, dell latitude 5320, a monitor my job sent me: dell p2425h 24 inch and a monitor from my old job: acer v277u

I want to use both monitors with the laptop lid closed and I was wondering if someone can guide me to which dock station would be compatible so I can get the most reliable experience using both monitors.

Is DCU 5.5 borked? I've tried installing is on 8 different computers, Latitude, Pros, Optiplex, and an XPS, all 13th gen Intel and newer, and 5.5 fails every single time. I followed Dell's "troubleshooting" and their suggestions didn't work. Any other ideas?

I am having difficulty setting up duel monitors with two of these. I have a lenovo thinkpad usb c dock. The dock plugs into the computer using USB C. How do I run the two monitors through this dock? I also want to connect a webcam to the set up using regular USB.

I have a Dell XPS 13 Plus 9320. In the past few days, upon startup, the fan would make a loud grinding sound upon startup. Also, if I keep pressing any keyboard key while this happened, I hear a robotic sound as long as the key is pressed. I usually have to put the laptop to sleep or shut it down to quiet the fan, and then restart again. When i restart, it works just fine.

I have cleaned the vents, and opened the back of the laptop and cleaned the fans. I ran a hardware check and both fans are working fine.

What else can I still do?

My Dell xps15 that stopped working over a year ago suddenly works now. The only problem is is that the hinge’s glue broke. What glue should I use to hold the hinge to the frame?

I recently purchased an Alienware PC and the delivery never made it to me despite Fedex claiming they delivered it. I was the only person home at my residential single family home at the time of alleged delivery and the proof of delivery showed a signature that was just a straight line. Pretty clearly a case of fraud...

I reached out to Fedex and they opened a case and after performing a trace on the package and speaking to the driver they were unable to locate the package. They told me I have to get Dell to file a missing package claim with Fedex, but I seem to be getting the run around from Dell. Their warranty team denied my request for a replacement because they say it was delivered, but Fedex is telling them that they should file a claim. I think it's a case of me being stuck at low level customer support. Does anyone know anyone at Dell that could help or that have navigated this issue?

I've already documented this with my bank but hoping to get a resolution from within Dell.

Basically, the title. Just ordered it, and the Dell site is pretty awful regarding choices and information. Amazon makes my head spin, since my guess is ordinary 13" sleeves -- preferably neoprene -- may be too small.

I'm facing an issue with my Dell Inspiron 15 3520. When I use the built-in internal microphone and start recording with the webcam using the Windows Camera app, everything works fine. However, when I switch to a USB microphone (which also acts as an audio output device), the video recording starts but freezes almost immediately. The app then stops the recording, and no video is saved. Instead, I get the error message: "Unsupported video type or invalid file path."

Here are some details about the issue:

• The webcam works fine with the internal mic.
• The issue occurs specifically when the USB microphone is selected for recording.
• I’ve tried updating all drivers (camera and audio), but the issue persists.
• I’ve also checked the settings in the Camera app, but nothing seems to fix the problem.

Has anyone else experienced something similar with their Dell laptop? Any suggestions on what could be causing this or how I can fix it?

I have had a couple Dell Latitudes in the past, and have been a big fan of their Pro Support warranty. Several times they’ve sent out a technician to make repairs at my workplace, saving me the hassle of having to mail my computer in to be fixed.

I’m wondering if you can still purchase a Dell Pro Support warranty if you don’t buy from Dell directly. (Sometimes the pricing is better through third parties, like Best Buy, Wal-Mart, Amazon, etc.)

My last job let me keep my work laptop. I barely used it as we had a desktops and i noticed the laptop is insanely slow. Im talking cant even boot into the login screen without stuttering and feeling like it operates at 10 fps. I understand the laptop version of parts would not be comparable to desktop level but this thing is insanely slow. I reinstalled windows and redid the drivers and it got even slower! I am honestly just considering selling this thing at this point unless anyone has any advice? I dont have warranty available anymore.

I have bought my dell g15 5530 6 months ago with i5 and 3050, my laptop has two problems

1. It is awfully very slow on battery and my cpu is at 0.5-0.6ghz on startup and remains there while on battery,this makes my laptop unusable on battery

2. while gaming,after 30 mins my gpu wattage suddenly gets stuck at 30W constant after hitting 75-85W consistently,it doesn’t even overheat or anything

I did a factory reset and no longer get audio from my dell xps 17. It says no device under input or output. I’ve tried downloading tons of randoms drivers but none have helped. I’ve right clicked and uninstalled everything with audio in device manager. Any other ideas? Any driver I should have that might be missing?

For your own good and mental sanity buy other laptop brands, every time i open and use my xps 15 2 in 1 i feel like punching myself in the face , from hardware unreliability, to software unreliability ,to insufferable lack of company support,,to driver issues . It is even worse if you have been using a brand that actually knows how to make a laptop like hp or lenovo. Dell laptops make you just want to kill yourself.

I was just working if there is a trick for reconnecting the Wifi Antennas back on the the card? Its always super frustrating to get them to snap onto the card. Any tips or tricks?
