Does Anyone Here Know How I Can Unsubscribe to a Sub That I Am Supposedly Moderating?
Guiz I need help.
I Need a MOD Who Can...
CSS the holy fuck out of this place. with pinstripes and chrome
take action when "magic in a bottle" advertisements appear
start shit with other subs, if for nothing else, than for glory.
I need an enthusiast...
Who is willing to do some interesting posts, like "on this day" "engine of the month" and "I have more gears than /r/deathrowdiesel had teeth" on a regular basis.
I realize that it's a bit hard to be that into a sub which isn't very active and competing for your free time with /r/gonewildcurvy and a horribly behind schedule 1980 Trans Am restomod project (that shouldn't have been that hard but had some hiccups along the way). and a lot of times, when you're home from work you just don't feel like clicking this sub. I get it. but the premise of this sub is really great and there are guys (and hopefully) women coming here all the time who need help and I really want them to get that from those of us who have a clue; because honestly...
we're the best mechanics on earth, and it isn't even close

Davie4 =/=
Hi :D our company just purchased new software, Davie4 for our 389 peterbilts. The software only works on some of our trucks.
At the bottom the icons that show GlobePC>Link>>Truck- all showing that its connected. When I go to quick test it shows only two links and both links have a =/= symbol in red . All the diag and maintenance tabs are not Highlighted and inaccessible. The trucks that have this issues are 2020-2022. I even repaired the software thinking it was a software related issue but im starting to think its truck related? because it does work on our newer trucks just fine. Please help if you know whats wrong<3 the dealer were stumped too.. said I should buy the adapter connection they have to use for 2017-2018.

Kenworth t880 / t680 hoods rubbing on ac condenser. Solution?
I've noticed this is super common on these trucks. Is there some adjustment to be made so the hood stops rubbing up there?

Kenworth dealer experience
Hey, just wanted to see if anyone here has any experience working for truck enterprise (kenworth dealers), specifically in roaoke VA. Currently working for a fleet and not really enjoying the mindset of the shop I'm at (more worried about fuckoff time than fixing trucks). They have a job posting up but no pay is listed. Is this place a shitshow or worth looking into?

Bus overcharging
I have an international school bus with a 6.7 Cummins in it that’s been having random voltage issues, some days it works fine and others it overcharges to 16 volts and causes modules to lose communication and put the bus into limp mode. It throws a myriad of codes for over voltage to most every module. The bus has had its alternator replaced twice in the last month, and I don’t believe it to be an issue, the batteries were changed out when the alternator was last changed out and I’m not sure what could be causing the problem as it works perfect for days and then just breaks down.

trailer brake issues
Hello, I was working on a trailer today at my shop when they stated the tandems wouldn't slide. replaced a chamber because the spring had popped and blew the chamber apart. and thought maybe the leak from the open chamber would be the cause for the brakes to not be applying when sliding. but after replacement. it still wouldn't apply brakes. and the brakes don't apply like they should in fail on mode even with the airlines from the truck detached like that. any thoughts or suggestions to look at first? can't hear an audible leak anywhere either

Without calling out the owner...
We are in the middle of the perfect build for the trucks. We had the hydraulic tanks to install on brand new trucks. These tanks, the owner sent us to install. They are old and rusted in places. That's what they wanted. Originally, the tanks were supposed to be a foot from the exhaust, had 12 trucks to put together. However, the owner changes plans. Note, these are older tanks with vents and no filters. He decided, against the warnings of how us moving the tanks to be 3 inches from the exhaust... so to please him, we did so. We also insisted on using a heat shield, which he refused.
Please, don't tell me we won't see them in the future with hydraulic failures. I really don't want to see these trucks again, this owner has to have everything to an exact spec and even hates seeing a little spot of paint on the frame stickers. And the oil level has to be exactly on the line, not over or under. And if it is he says the techs are lazy and aren't paying proper attention to every single detail. Sorry, I just really don't care. After 5pm I'm going home and will say what I want to.

Grease Gun Opinions
Just curious if anyone else uses the M12 over the M18 and how well it holds up. I went with the M12 due to its smaller size and cheaper price. Plus it was on a promo through Matco for a free 5.0 high output battery that I’ve been wanting to get for my gen 2 M12 1/2” stubby impact

Any techs here who worked for central transport?
I have an interview soon with central transport. If any techs have worked them or currently do I’d like to know your opinions! They are offering more than I currently make too.

Cummins insite
I have been working on m2 freightliners for about 4 years as fleet work, I was wondering as I’m just getting into Cummins insite for the past few months. Is there any courses or good guides to learn about the stuff that the program can do or should I just read the fat ass book about it.

Adding onto the earlier post of S-Cam departure
Found this on a Frieghtshaker that came in for service today. Of course the driver came in for an AC issue, mentioned nothing about it trying to change lanes when you brake.

Greasing clutch throwout bearing - how do I know when it is enough?
I have a rubber coated hose protruding from the transmission (Eaton I believe) with a grease fitting at the end. Adding grease doesn’t result in any visible changes, like it does with a ball joint, etc. How do I know how much grease to add?
The rubber hose originates from a small plate mounted with four fasteners. Do I take this off to check my progress?

Fuel pressure issue
2006 ford f-650 dump 5.9l Cummins
I developed a fuel pressure issue right after my mechanic changed the cylinder head on my truck.
My mechanic changed, fuel filter, the nozzle and sensor on the top of the head. He also changed both fuel pumps. He made every repair that has been suggested for the codes that were appearing.
Check engine light comes on, on the highway when I’m constantly on the throttle. Power dies down and the pressure goes down to 14000psi (ish). During city driving when not constantly on the throttle the pressure stays at 22000psi (ish) don’t know the exact numbers, my mechanic is the one that gave me those figures.
This issue has been plaguing us for months. I just want it fixed, without spending any more money. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you
