Starting a new job in sales soon for a very small, local business type company. A lot of it will involve digital marketing, online shop etc.

Hey, just a random question — how much can a digital marketer earn in 2025, and what skills in digital marketing lead to a high salary

One client had over 40 automation triggers in their email platform. half of which overlapped, paused others, or sent the same lead multiple messages in a week 😬

Instead of rebuilding from scratch, we took this approach:

1. Mapped out the full journey visually (we used Whimsical, but even a whiteboard works)
2. Cut anything that wasn’t tied to a specific outcome (no random “check-in” emails)
3. Grouped all actions into 3 stages: Trigger, Nurture, Conversion
4. Rebuilt using just 9 automations. lean, simple, and aligned with goals

The result?
Higher open rates. Cleaner data. And a process the team could actually manage.

If your automation feels bloated, it probably is. Strip it back.

So I have partnered with one of my clients (an accounting firm) to start a digital marketing agency specifically for accounting firms in my country for starters.

Hi all- as digital marketing, I am constantly running into the AI hype (or maybe not hype) and constantly companies like Shopify and many more are encouraging to use AI as much as possible and reduce hiring. As someone who usually doesn't buy into hypes, I haven't been exploring much. But I am all for improved productivity- so I finally gave in and decided to force myself to AI for the last 90 days and here are my learnings

What I loved

1. ChatGPT/Claude is great for brainstorming and a lot of daily tasks that would have otherwise taken longer. For example, I can ask stuff like "Summarize this text" etc. I cannot live without ChatGPT now
2. V0 by Vercel is great for prototyping websites for marketing assets. For example, often times while creating marketing for web dashboards, I would have to wait on ui/ux designers to give assets. Now I just use V0 to create a fake prototype and and screen record/screenshot it.
3. Bolt is great to create quick marketing landing pages etc and go live in seconds. You no longer need a designer or a developer for quick marketing pages/websites that are only severing marketing purposes.
4. Frizerly is great for automating weekly blogs for SEO and brand authority. For example, a lot of our clients usually publish some kinda listicle every week on their Shopify website like "5 must have designer bags for this fall". Frizerly was able to completely learn about each product and automate the whole process including publishing into the website!
5. Playground is great for creating graphic designs. Again I used to have to wait on graphic designers to create graphic designers. Now AI can do it automatically!

Now to wrap it up, I do not think of living without AI anymore. But that said, at this moment, I think AI still sucks for complex tasks. You can't just say "Create a an App that does X" and forget about it. However you can say stuff like "Create a Landing Page for X that includes Y" and slowly go from there.

But I am thinking at this rate, even these complex things are going to be done using AI in 5 years. I see it more like tractors now. Farmers can't probably think of doing farming without tractors anymore and I think we as digital marketers should think in similar terms.

Right now I have vague idea what marketing is, but it's not enough.

I made an email, it looks great (subjective, and not the point) but when I sent out a test email to a colleague who was using dark mode, the colors changed and it was basically illegible.

It’s text on top of an image. Image stays the same colors but the text changed from a white to a dark gray/black and is nearly invisible.

I would appreciate tips on this. Are there colors I should avoid using? Is it expected/common that in dark mode things might not look “as it should”? Is there a way to easily and quickly test dark mode without having to send a test email after nearly every modification? Any other advice for dealing with this?

Over the last few years, the Media Buyer job offer has appeared on my feed and it kind of made me curious since dealing with ads is probably the only area of digital marketing that I haven't delve with.

We are upgrading from Loom.ly and are finishing up demo calls. I work at a small college in New England.

In short, Hootsuite enterprise is lovely, but it’s out of our budget. We need social listening, but not much…and it appears their Team package has a little.

Later enterprise is within our budget. They have added some social listening, but they lack a bit with LinkedIn analytics.

Does anyone have insight? Is it better to do a better out-of-the-box solution, or enterprise with a less robust tool?

Are beginners to marketing that have self taught themselves a skill willing to do free work to gain experience.

• Google Reaffirms Absence of Brand-Based Ranking System​

In response to ongoing discussions about the role of brand recognition in search rankings, Danny Sullivan has reiterated that Google does not employ a system that automatically favors big brands in its search results: "We don't have a brand-ranking system." 

He elaborated that while Google's algorithms do not explicitly prioritize large brands, there may be a correlation between brand recognition and certain signals that the search engine uses to reward content. In other words, well-known entities—regardless of size—might naturally align with certain factors that influence rankings. 

• Google Ranks Reddit’s AI-Translated Pages Despite Policy Concerns

Reddit’s AI-translated pages are appearing prominently in non-English search results. Glenn Gabe observed that Reddit uses simple URL parameters to produce translated content at scale. 

This practice seems to conflict with Google’s policies on low-value, mass-generated pages created via automation. Despite this, these pages continue to rank well, prompting questions about policy enforcement and search quality.

Google Lists Top JavaScript SEO Mistakes

Google’s Martin Splitt outlined three common JavaScript SEO mistakes that webmasters should avoid:

1. Relying only on source HTML can be misleading, as Google indexes the rendered HTML after script load. 
2. Error pages sometimes incorrectly return a 200 status code instead of a proper 404, causing them to be indexed. 
3. Geolocation prompts without fallback content can result in blank pages for Googlebot. 

Splitt recommends using solutions like the URL Inspection tool in Search Console to catch and resolve these issues early.

• Google's Local Questions & Answers Feature Disappears from Search

Recently, the Questions & Answers section has vanished from many local business panels in search. While the feature had already been removed in India, it remained active elsewhere—until now.

SEO specialists have observed and reported this change, noting that the Q&A section still appears in Google Maps but can’t be found in search. It’s still unclear whether this is a temporary issue or a permanent removal.

• Google Merchant Center to Utilize Marketing Emails for Enhanced Search Listings

As of April 3, Google automatically subscribes to marketing emails from merchants to extract useful content for display in Google Search, Shopping, and Maps. This means the search giant will proactively gather fresh updates from merchants’ email campaigns to enhance visibility across its platforms. 

Merchants are actually enrolled in this program by default but can opt out at any time through their Merchant Center settings. If you want to join the initiative, just add marketingemailtogoog@gmail[dot]com to your email list.

Hello, hope this message finds you all well. Yesterday I launched the first campaign of my new online business. I set up two variants of Catalogue Advantage+ Ads, one Single Image, and one Carousel. This said, the times the creatives have naturally popped up on my personal ig, and in some of my friends personal accounts, there seems to be one specific product that is exclusively showing up out of 88 products.
