We were told repeatedly and now we’re learning the hard way. What could have been done differently?

If Jim Jones can convince his followers to drink poisonous kool aid, and David Koresh can convince his followers to stand up to armed ATF agents in a tank, you can certainly convince your dumb cult members to cast a vote or two or.three.

Ignorance and Apathy are a hell of a drug combo for our society.

16

u/flossyokeefe 1d ago

I read a fitting quote from unknown source

“Apathy is the death of democracy”

Been thinking/saying it a lot the past few years

5

u/flareblitz91 1d ago

I like the one from the acclaimed cinematic masterpiece Van Wilder, “Apathy is the glove into which evil slips it’s hand.”

3

u/flossyokeefe 23h ago

The cream filled donut scene that was waaaay too gross for me and haunts me to this day aside, Van Wilder was such great movie

Great quote! Dare I ask what they were talking about

2

u/EnvironmentalBus9713 1d ago

I know that one and it is absolutely a true statement.

1

u/Putrid_Race6357 14h ago

Plato wrote a book about it

1

u/Putrid_Race6357 14h ago

Plato wrote a book about it

6

u/amiserablemonke 21h ago

And our propaganda machine, read "partisan media" has perfected the art of generating both of these.

1

u/EnvironmentalBus9713 21h ago

I disagree partially. I think the media's currency is Ignorance and Fear.

2

u/amiserablemonke 21h ago

And staying on edge all the time due to fear does what? Creates apathy.

That's why every few days they sensationalize a New Big Thing

1

u/EnvironmentalBus9713 21h ago

I disagree. From the individuals I see on the right side of the spectrum - they are terminally consumed with fear. There is always another boogie man around the corner, both literally and figuratively. It has created apathy more for those who are more centrist because they are tired of watching all the negative shit and just want to live their life.

TLDR; The media's complicity is more nuanced to how they affect those across the political spectrum. All of it damaging.

1

u/amiserablemonke 20h ago

I see the same issue affecting those on the left. I have several friends on the left that are dooming all the time about the latest news they've heard and are constantly afraid.

2

u/EnvironmentalBus9713 18h ago

I think it's different this time around but I would also be careful to group dooming with the irrational fear of their environment. For example Fox has cultivated fear in its viewers in anything and everything that is different from themselves. Particularly minorities and transgender people - much of that fear is completely irrational. In today's environment, people who are dooming on the left are truly afraid in an empathetic manner - being afraid about what is actually being done to the country. It's not the same; I understand what you mean but I'd suggest to not discount the placement of the fear.

Example: There is a big difference between being afraid of the doctor because you heard on the "news" that doctors are using needles to inject HIV into patients to test viral strains. And being afraid of the doctor since you are afraid of needles because you had really bad experiences when they drew blood a few times.

1

u/amiserablemonke 31m ago

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that those individuals don't have good reason be fearful. I'm saying that living under a constant state of fear and stress leads to defeatist and apathy

20

u/AcanthocephalaLive56 1d ago

Critical thinking skills, common sense, and empathy is lacking in this country

💯! Those things have been replaced by beliefs founded on insults, conspiracy, and gut feelings.

29

u/Jragonstar 1d ago

Republicans work off indoctrination. They teach them young and fill their head with the same... own the libs for a whole lifetime.

How many kids have you seen in Trump shirts?

How many has Biden/ Harris.

14

u/Duo-lava 1d ago

yup. then these people grow up thinking THEY chose their way of life, chose their religion and call everyone else sheep

1

u/No-Buffalo9706 6h ago

"Sheep" is an interesting insult from a people who worship a God they call "the Good Shepherd".

1

u/Accomplished-Meal753 8h ago

My redneck cousins did a photoshoot with their toddlers where all of them were wearing matching Let’s Go Brandon shirts. The kids had no idea what that even means. It’s so fucked

1

u/Jragonstar 1h ago

Yeah it's indoctrination. It'll be nearly impossible, unless they go to college.

In college you gain information and make informed decisions.

There are still some morons that are convinced that China will pay for the tariffs. I don't know what's going to happen, but it doesn't look good.

-4

u/farmerjoee 1d ago edited 1d ago

If the question is what we can do differently, then we need some introspection. Insisting that she was above criticism to people on the moral highground was a losing message, and worse, it was obvious it was a losing message. We need to represent instead of rule, and coddling anyone that thinks genocide is self defense while castigating people concerned about children dying en masse was a mistake.

It's easy to say "everyone should conform to me," but in democracy, politicians win elections by consolidating winning coalitions. Not only did she fail to do that, but her base spent all of their energy shooting themselves in the feet by insisting everything was fine. If a political party can't respond to the needs of its constituents, it won't win elections.

Genocide is jus cogens, universal law, and adhering to this is not conforming. It's being a human.

8

u/Alive-Leave4143 1d ago

What I listed are the root causes of the mess we’re in now. In reality, you may not agree with 100% of the policies of any candidate but you choose the best one for the country. People chose the worst choice, ignored the warnings, and are now dealing with the consequences.

I agree with you.  I voted for her not because I liked her, or even believed in her, it was a protest vote against the worst alternative.

That sentiment won Joe Biden an election, and that time/goodwill/administration was squandered.  After he won, it should've been the beginning of assessment (that introspection) and building up the next wave of leaders, but it wasn't.  (Should've also been time to address the courts.)

Democrats keeping moving to the middle, which means moving to the right, and those that remain left are ostracized.  That coalition building is difficult to do under their own banner.  Hoping they can do so outside of the tent just seems doubtful. That in contrast to a small tea party movement, that looks like the precursor to MAGA, and now nearly the complete Republican machine is MAGA. Messaging matters.  Even if a lot of people know MAGA is a bad story, it is at least a coherent one.

This situation makes sense with the reasons stated we're in this situation (Critical thinking skills, common sense, and empathy is lacking in this country).  The lack of clear messaging does nothing to challenge the lies, invoke feelings of empathy, or challenge thoughts to use critical thinking.

Sometimes to fight a lie, it needs debunking.  Sometimes to fight a lie, one just needs an equally clever/appealing/accessible different lie (even if it's the truth).

I pray democrats realize they need to be more transparent with their primary process.  They screwed the pooch by crowning Hilary with their treatment of Bernie, and they did themselves no favors by allowing Joe to run and then hard swapping him with Kamala.

1

u/Individual_Exit_5257 1d ago

I’d be interested to hear what defines someone as MAGA to you…

2

u/tag1550 22h ago

This entry actually does a better job of defining the movement's themes (including being deliberately vague) than the one for MAGA: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trumpism

top part:

Trumpism, also referred to as the Make America Great Again (MAGA) movement, is a political movement in the United States that comprises the political ideologies associated with the 45th and 47th U.S. president Donald Trump and his political base.[14][15] It incorporates ideologies such as right-wing populism, right-wing antiglobalism, national conservatism, neo-nationalism, and features significant illiberal, authoritarian and at times autocratic beliefs.[b] Trumpists and Trumpians are terms that refer to individuals exhibiting its characteristics. There is significant academic debate over the prevalence of neo-fascist[a] elements of Trumpism.

Trumpism is associated with the belief that the President is above the rule of law.[c] It has been referred to as an American political variant of the far-right[16][11] and the national-populist and neo-nationalist sentiment seen in multiple nations starting in the mid-late 2010s.[17] Trump's political base has been compared to a cult of personality.[d] Trump supporters became the largest faction of the United States Republican Party, with the remainder often characterized as "the elite", "the establishment", or "Republican in name only" (RINO) in contrast. In response to the rise of Trump, there has arisen a Never Trump movement.

1

u/Both_Archer_3653 19h ago

Yeah, I treat MAGA like SCOTUS thinks of porn, I know it when I see it.  Usually it's recognizable by red hats.

They self-identify, I don't need to put them in a box.

1

u/resist1963 1d ago

Seriously? We need to represent and not rule 😂. There’s one party that is interested in that and they are the ones currently converting all of us from citizens to subjects.

-1

u/Substantial_Topic_23 22h ago

I’m a conservative and I support this - it’s no different than a sick person going into the operating room. This is bigger than Trump - if you are middle class and you think Kamala could have made any executive decision on her own - you are a fool. She would have been an empty face at a podium will the elite continued to destroy the middle class.

63

u/beautnight 1d ago

The economy crashing is worth it to not have a black woman in charge. I’m not even being snarky. I’ve literally heard MAGA family members saying that. This truly is the darkest timeline.

27

u/Putrid_Race6357 1d ago

We have lost the impact of shame in our society.

13

u/Heavy_Environment467 1d ago

This is absolutely the craziest line of thinking. Your stocks are first, they will be crying once their bread costs $500

2

u/swisscoffeeknife 1d ago edited 1d ago

Anyone remember when bread wasn't $5?

In January 1913, a pound of potatoes cost less than two cents, and in 1950, a loaf of bread was 12 cents. Additionally, the price of a loaf of bread had risen to 17.1 cents in 1947 and reached 35.3 cents by April 1973

2

u/LateUnderstanding506 1d ago

Minimum wage was $1.90 in 1972

6

u/Vanilla_Mudslide619 1d ago

How's that for perspective!

In 1973, a minimum wage worker could buy 5 loaves of bread with one hour's pay. Today, they can buy 1-2 (maybe 3 with a really good store brand sale).

3

u/Natural-Gur40 23h ago

The better system of measurement is just the ratio of work to cost of food/rent. It’s hard to track though without some sorry and data.

The post-depression recovery thought process was “one week’s full time wage would pay rent.” A week of work for a place to sleep. Minimum wage is the idea that someone working full time at that wage should have enough to feed and house their family.

These are all moving targets and people with power tend to move them away from the realm of affordability until kids are working at some bakery to help pay the rent of their family and then trying to do algebra in between. That’s not hyperbole either, as of this decade I wanted to try teacher so I did substitute teaching to get a feel for it. A kid looked tired and I must have made some comment or looked at him concerned because he said he’d been up since the early hours working at some bakery before school.

So whether or not bread costs 5 cents or 5 dollars is okay but whether or not a full time worker can live inside and eat enough is where we should be. Someone shouldn’t be able to fly to a fleet of yachts while someone else picks between letting their kid go to school or pressuring their kid to work four hours before school.

1

u/antiquatedadhesive 14h ago

No, they won't. They will be singing Trump's praises from the gutter eating cat food. Americans are dogshit and this is what we deserve.

It’s because they’ve done nothing with their lives, but at least they are white. They would honestly rather die than having proof that a black woman can achieve more than they can.

1

u/OkRush9563 14h ago

I am convinced MAGAs would become suicide bombers if they thought it would hurt people they dislike.

3

u/beautnight 8h ago

If the cheeto told them too 100%

1

u/panic_talking 5h ago

This is 100% it. More than anything else. Everything else is largely misdirection. Racist and/or sexist people who cannot be honest with themselves pretend it was the economy or whatever. But it was all almost entirely just simply racist and/or sexist reasons for voting trump and not her or Hilary.

22

u/BlackJackfruitCup 1d ago

Our representatives need to grow a spine and investigate the ties that the Heritage Foundation has with our major voting machine companies

Why did J. Kenneth Blackwell seek, then hide, his association with super-rich extremists and e-voting magnates?

America’s largest (and arguably most problematic) voting machine vendor is ES&S, not Dominion Voting

If you want to see how devastating it would be to find that our elections have been compromised, just watch the woman’s reaction at the end of this video when she finds out how simple it is to hack into the tabulation machines or as our Cheato-in-Chief says "Those vote counting computers".

That is why so many people don’t want to discuss it. It’s too horrible and scary to believe.

Hacking Democracy - The Hack:

We need to sound the alarm and support groups looking into the security of our elections like the Election Truth Alliance. Our democracy is only as safe and secure as our elections.

3

u/happyfundtimes 1d ago

FBI and DHS proving they work for industry after all.

The Heritage Foundation needs to be sentenced as a terrorist organization.

Vote like grownups who can recognize the difference between reality TV and real events on TV.

Oops. Not too late to translate “But I never thought I would be affected” into Latin, chisel it onto the forehead of the Statue of Liberty so maybe the apes don’t fuck up so bad.

5

u/Level-Insect-2654 18h ago

Even with the reality TV mindset, just based on appearance and superficial aspects, Harris sounded better, looked better, and was all around more photogenic and better for TV than that scowling bloated menace.

I thought people were ageist, but I guess he gets a pass even though he looks every bit of 80 lately.

I guess if I understood the appeal, I might have been part of the problem, so it is just as well. It just makes it difficult to be empathetic towards them because I don't get it, even after someone tries to "put me in their shoes" and even though I live in the middle of Oklahoma.

3

u/KlutzyRequirement251 15h ago

Don't you know; being a white, wealthy man trumps EVERYTHING else.

20

u/90sportsfan 1d ago

It's playing out exactly how Harris said it would, almost to a tee.....

6

u/MysteriousGuide5616 1d ago

Ask any MAGA though and they will say it is still worth the suffering to come out on top.

17

u/WaffleBlues 1d ago

Americans wanted their politics to be like a sporting event...they wanted drama, cruelty, and corruption...

I remember watching poll interviews the night of the election, and a bunch of 20 year olds were being interviewed, all of whom voted for Orange Dick Head, and they said "we just liked his vibes more".

When you raise your kids/citizens to so thoroughly lack critical thinking skills, you get a shit show.

2

u/antiquatedadhesive 14h ago

By vibes, they meant they like the racism/sexism. They just don't want to say the quiet part out loud.

16

No, mother, things won't get better for a long time or possibly ever if we become a dictatorship. If we become one she could very well die of old age before it collapses. Heck I might spend the rest of my life in dictatorship before it falls. Thanks a lot mom, you flushed my and countless others futures down the drain including your own.

1

7

u/saltedhashneggs 1d ago

MAGA doesn't watch the debates let alone CNN.

3

u/Both_Archer_3653 1d ago

That's why Mayor Pete is a boss by going on Fox News frequently and holding his own.

Go where the message needs to be heard.  Preaching to the choir is good and all, but it only goes so far in actually growing a congregation.  (To wit, Dems also stopped preaching as convincingly to their usually strong union and minority demographics that began breaking toward Trump in larger and larger (although still small) numbers.)

5

u/524302 1d ago

2

u/rkel76 1d ago

What is the 'lowest level drop since 2008' referencing? The stock market dropped 22% in the first 6mo of 2022. It's off about 9% since Trump took office. Still a good chance he tries to beat that 22% because Trump but no idea what a 'lowest level drop' is referencing.

1

u/caflyguy29 1d ago

0

u/rkel76 1d ago

What was the 2008 referencing? The link you provided just states that 4/2 was the biggest single day drop since 2020.

-4.8% is pretty awful but not even a top 20 day in stock market history. Not even sure it's in the top 50.

1

u/rnr_ 7h ago

I just did a rough calculation based on the S&P500, it is down by over 17% since February. Not 9%. Pretty safe bet that'll exceed the 22% number you state.

Everybody is saying "picked anyone but Harris". Well, Harris losing is part of the problem. She was extremely well-qualified for the job. If you want to solve America's problems, don't stop at "picking anyone but Harris". You have to solve that problem too. Her losing is the same problem as Trump winning. If you don't achieve a situation where Harris can win, you have achieved nothing.

Ads telling voters to verify their voter registration and how to do it. Ads showing common mistakes and clarifying how to submit a mail in votes in some areas like PA where voters must sign in two different places and date the outer envelope. 3 million suppressed votes.

2

u/que-sera2x 7h ago

I do believe people aren’t being educated enough on the process to truly understand the reasoning behind why, what and how their votes matter. I agree there needs to be more advertising on this kind of stuff.

3

u/IGotADadDong 1d ago

What could have been done?

They could have ran a better candidate. One that actually won a nomination through voting.

1

u/Potential_Steak2381 5h ago

Compared to Trump, she was clearly the better candidate. But we live in America, and we'll probably never see a female POTUS in this lifetime.

0

u/RegattaJoe 1d ago

Do you have evidence this factor actually influenced voters?

1

u/Putrid_Race6357 14h ago

It's crazy you want to argue this

0

u/RegattaJoe 9h ago

It’s crazy people can’t use basic reason.

1

u/IGotADadDong 1d ago

Yes. She lost the election.

4

u/RegattaJoe 1d ago

This isn’t evidence. This is a result to which you’ve attached your unsupported assertion

-6

u/IGotADadDong 1d ago

Ok. You’re right. Kamala was a great choice. Very likable. Totally didn’t come across as a ditzy, drunken, word salad spewing, DEI hire who fumbled her only task as border czar.

I’m sure no other democratic candidate could have done better.

6

u/RegattaJoe 1d ago

Do you or do you not have any evidence for your assertion?

-4

u/IGotADadDong 1d ago

No, you won the argument. You changed my mind. She’s great. She did fantastic. No one was a better option.

6

u/RegattaJoe 1d ago

This is just more deflection. Be an adult.

2

u/IGotADadDong 1d ago

How about the fact she didn’t flip a single county in the entire country. It’s almost statistically impossible to be that horrible

3

u/RegattaJoe 1d ago

You have still failed to evidentially connect any of these things to your assertion.

You do know what critical thinking is, right?

1

u/ManOf1000Usernames 1d ago

Look at how low she placed in the 2020 primaries and how close it was this time anyway. If Biden has just gotten off his boomer (ok fine, silent generation) hubris and let the Dems have a primary and more than 6 months of campaign time,  whoever they picked probably would have won handily.

1

u/RegattaJoe 1d ago

Unless this is backed up by evidence it isn’t relevant to the above point — namely that Kamala having not gone through the traditional primary process was the reason the Dems lost.

1

u/JimboFett87 18h ago

Boomers are gonna kill us all because they don't think they're gonna die.

1

u/IGotADadDong 1d ago

Please provide evidence that Kamala not receiving the formal DNC nomination DIDNT affect voters.

3

u/RegattaJoe 1d ago

That’s not how it works, Hawking. The person who makes the assertion is responsible for providing evidence to support it.

This is Critical Thinking 101, ffs

Ran or have run, not have ran. Some places want to use English proficiency as a way to qualify for citizenship.

0

u/Both_Archer_3653 1d ago

While grammatically correct, you do understand this is the type of stuff that turns off people that aren't already in lockstep with you?

The same allusion in referencing the English proficiency as a way to qualify for citizenship isn't far off from the literacy tests used for voting.  I'm not sure why you used the example, but it leads to various places.

You understood the intent of the message.  Getting lost in the details of propper word choice is just being lost.

4

u/The_Rad_In_Comrade 1d ago

For one thing, we'd need an actual functioning democracy, not one so poisoned by capitalism that the richest man on earth can blatantly wield his wealth to tip the scales.

Just to make sure this comment is downvoted, the Democrats also could have run a candidate who was actually popular. Maybe even hold a legitimate, non-biased primary so people could select one, rather than first pushing a man who was a shambling corpse, and then a woman who secured single digit votes when she actually participated in a primary.

Gotta own the mistakes that were made if you really want the answer to what could be done differently.

2

u/Putrid_Race6357 14h ago

When's the last time the Democrats held a legitimate non-bias primary?

Politics should never be something you "identify" with. It's always compromise and self-sacrifice for the betterment of society. The only mistake here is that society is just too stupid to care.

u/Nofanta 1d ago

Demanded a primary? Not cover up that Biden was too old and confused to be president? Not ask us to vote for someone who came in dead last when she was in a primary?

5

u/Hawk_Rider2 1d ago

*still better than Trump

4

u/Nofanta 1d ago

Depends on what you’re trying to do. If it’s win an election and govern according to your preferred policies, obviously not better.

2

u/Hawk_Rider2 1d ago

You prefer a shittier economy 🤷‍♂️

2

u/Nofanta 1d ago

No. We’ve been in a recession for a while outside of the overvalued mag7. I’m happy to see them come back down to realistic levels. I’m making a lot of money off of this economy.

1

u/Hawk_Rider2 1d ago

So you're a bear 🐻 in a bull market - gold/silver are hitting all time highs again anyway.

1

u/86_Ambitions 1d ago

No belle loriette sounds woke and feminine. I only trust strong man.

1

u/13508615 1d ago

Men is what does it for you?

1

u/Top_Taro_17 1d ago

2 inches to the right.

1

u/Hyper_Noxious 1d ago

It was staged anyways.

1

u/Hopeful_Chair_7129 1d ago

I think his name is Ronald

1

u/Miggels369 1d ago

I like the Americans still voted for Trump. Else EU wouldn’t unite as they do now.

1

u/Favored_of_Vulkan 1d ago

Do people think the stock market is the economy? The stock market set record highs the past year, so the economy must have been great, right? Nope, record high prices on everything.

1

u/hotpapaya3454 1d ago

It’s not the full picture, but it’s definitely a measure of economic health.

And anyone who voted for trump to lower the costs of goods is about to learn a tough lesson about tariffs and inflation.

1

u/Favored_of_Vulkan 23h ago

Considering the record high cost of living coincided with the record high stock market, maybe it is a measure of economic health. Just not a positive one.

1

u/KrangGore 1d ago

You could have told the elderly people watching Fox News and the wannabe thugs with Trump flags chanting "Let's go, Brandon" - or the full version - that they were full of crap and only idiots believe George Soros is funding immigrant caravans because illegal aliens vote for Democrats, that the NIH invented Covid as a hoax because Fauci is a devil-worshipping sadist who grooves on making people wear masks, or that teachers want to turn kids trans. Ask them to explain why they believe every doctor, teacher, nurse, dentist, journalist, etc. is part of a Satanic plot against them, or why an obese orange lunatic old enough to be in an Alzheimer's ward is their savior. (Yeah, that was Biden's problem, too - if Dems hadn't shut down Bernie in 2016, none of this would be happening now.)

Instead, you assumed they'd go away like earlier lunatics who thought Elvis was still alive or that they had been anally probed by the greys. You didn't want to make a scene at the Peewee soccer game or the church potluck, so you let these nuts rant. When a thug walked down the street waving a "F**k Biden" flag in front of children, you covered your kids' eyes and ignored the crazy man - instead of a group of family men confronting the incel creep and showing him up as a coward.

When you ignored them, they saw it as weakness and aimed to push further. They want to burn the world to the ground, and now they have the matches. Some people just need to be stopped, the sooner the better.

1

u/CoverCommercial3576 1d ago

You can’t fix stupid

1

u/happyfundtimes 1d ago

Stop being ignorant and apathetic? Cognitively weak people are always the reason why this world will never have peace. On both sides of this coin, one would rather not care while the other would want to let their lust for power destroy society.

1

u/BruiserBerkshire 19h ago

It’s what the people wanted.

Healthy Market Pullback and Correction

1

u/OkRush9563 14h ago

So many alleged adults are fucking dumb kids who you tell them "don't touch the stove it's hot" and then they do it anyways cause you told them not and end up asking why you didn't stop them when they get horribly burned.

1

u/que-sera2x 7h ago

“Don’t touch the stove it’s hot” should be followed with describing what will happen to them because it’s hot. You’d be surprise how in general people need to hear or see why they should or shouldn’t do something.

1

u/Remarkable_Ad_7423 7h ago

Kamala knew we would go through hard times under Trump, because she and the guy she stole the DNC nomination from set us on a course of inflation, institutionalized corruption, and illegal immigration. We now have to suffer the consequences of cleaning this up. Make no mistake Trump is doing the best he can with what he was given. This is just the beginning. I'm hoping Trump can pull us out of this mess before too long. I think he will, based on the successes of his first term.

1

u/Potential_Steak2381 5h ago

One thing I wish would happen is that just for once, can we all learn from this? Can we remember this the next time some rich asshole with no experience decides to toss his red hat into the political ring? Collective amnesia seems to be a huge problem in this country, and I don't understand it. We literally record and upload everything. The evidence was always right there in front of you. So when the next podcaster, actor or charismatic game show host runs for president can we not vote for that person?
Please for the fucking love of God?

1

u/gabachote 3h ago

It’s the only way we tend to learn. And the lesson doesn’t last long

1

u/kingpet100 31m ago

If only if people voted for Kamala

0

u/ByzFan 1d ago

Maybe not shove an unpopular candidate down our throats at the last minute? I voted for her and still knew the dems were in trouble. A female black lawyer for president was just not going to work in a post-obama america drowning in disinformation and locked up in echo chambers.

1

u/BadParrot 1d ago

Had an open primary. Got Biden out earlier. Picked anyone other than Harris. Selected Shapiro as VP.

2

u/Putrid_Race6357 14h ago

Shapiro on the ticket is an automatic loss

1

u/HomelessBullfrog 1d ago

Have to be a pretty dogshit candidate to not only lose to Trump but to get demolished the way she did. Literally anyone else and Democrats would've won. Thanks Joe!

1

u/Pristine_Tension8399 1d ago

Harris was an awful candidate. I’m not saying Trump was good but at least he won a primary.

2

u/happyfundtimes 1d ago

Who cares? Politics isn't populism. Vote to make sure the lesser of the two evils prevents the bigger evil from doing worst. Now we're in this hell that many of us will die in.

0

u/war_mammoth 22h ago

Vote for evil! Just not the evil I don't like. How about put good candidates for once that prople actually want to vote for.

1

u/happyfundtimes 22h ago

Then apply to the presidency? You don't even know how the world you live in works.

Brain the size of an ostrich

2

u/JimboFett87 18h ago

Hey fuck off. LOL

1

u/war_mammoth 1d ago

She could have been a better candidate that wasn't forced on people.

1

u/happyfundtimes 1d ago

So you would note vote or vote for Trump because you think politics are populist?

1

u/war_mammoth 23h ago

Braindead reply. Try thinking for once.

1

u/[deleted] 23h ago

[deleted]

1

u/war_mammoth 23h ago

That's a lot of words to say nothing at all related to my comment.

1

u/Ok-Rub8529 1d ago

We fucked around. Guess what we're doing now?

-1

u/CrabPerson13 1d ago

Probably let people have a say on who was going to be on the democrat ticket instead of just defaulting to someone who frankly had been absent for 4 years.

0

u/DemsLoveGenocide 1d ago

This is what happens when you try to win over Trump's base by running with Dick and Liz Cheney. This is what happens when you don't make Genocide a red line. This is what happens when you go with the coronated candidate. Dems learn nothing every time they lose. You're doing the exact same dumb shit you did with Hillary. You aren't even changing the wording you lazy arrogant fascists.

1

u/happyfundtimes 1d ago

So this is better than the alternative?

0

u/International-Bat944 19h ago

Buy the dips pussies.

-16

u/North_Radish3279 1d ago

This is problem with the two party system. We were forced to choose between two evils .

15

u/Brad_HP 1d ago

I need you to give 5 bullet points (with supporting evidence NOT from Fox News) explaining why Harris is evil and not better than the convicted felon sex offender who bankrupted multiple businesses and incited an insurrection.

7

u/ForeverandEvr 1d ago

They have until 11:59pm EST on Monday to respond with their bullet points or else they’re fired from the USA.

6

u/Hawk_Rider2 1d ago edited 1d ago

except that Kamala isn't evil 🤷‍♂️
Mr. Gloomy Pants, however - is

20

u/Fun-Dragonfly-4166 1d ago

We were forced to choose between good and evil and we chose evil.

1

u/Putrid_Race6357 1d ago

Is apartheid good or evil?

5

u/MadACR 1d ago

You went from a self-imposed apartheid to a full-on Genocide with Trump. So this argument is null and void.

The electoral college actually did . They are true evil ones

4

u/Strykerz3r0 1d ago

Hahahaha!

That is one take.

It also wouldn't be a problem if a significant number of republican voters didn't vote for a white man who is a 34-time convicted felon, rapist, and Doe174 on Epstein's list rather than a black woman.

-4

u/North_Radish3279 1d ago

I love how all the democrats and republicans hate independents and third parties. Makes you all a bunch of Nazis

Making that type of declaration in the midst of a presidential race is the definition of callous desperation. It’s an expression of financial independence strong enough to ride out the worst of waves that she’s wiling to risk unleashing the tide of terrible financial woes on her fellow Americans just for a job title.

W did the same thing in his run against Gore but he resonated with the right Americans with the right buying power to have two impacts- a presidential win and immediately tanking the economy (other factors as well). Our dear former Vice President K Harris statements had neither impact. We’ve been in the midst of an “economic situation” since well before Covid.

u/JerriBlankStare 1d ago

Bless your heart.

She was a terrible candidate as well. In fact, we were talking about dropping her from the Biden ticket due to her unpopularity to help in the polls up until they pulled the switch on us. The Democrat Party lost the most this past election, but what was lost had nothing to do with Orange Man.

-4

u/Random-User8675309 1d ago

Or….maybe people should learn some history and find out how we got to a place where nearly every country in the world has high Tariffs on U made products and yet we are expected to buy their products mostly tariff free.

It’s been decades in the making with Congress selling our American manufacturing. Selling it out to China, Mexico, and other places where the labor costs are a lost less, and then letting them import nearly tariff free. Meanwhile Congress hamstrung American manufacturing, made it much harder to operate a business, and ensured that starting a business would be as difficult as possible through ridiculous regulations.

Rewind 35 years or so and see where it started and realize that we need to recover our own manufacturing, jobs, and support our own products.

That is how you build real national prosperity.

-1

u/Commercial_Rule_7823 1d ago

She was wrong.

Recession already started. Even the recession is winning, didnt have to wait for "middle of the year"

-7

u/Unclefester-8404 1d ago

Sorry but we’d still be worse under Harris.

3

u/13508615 1d ago edited 1d ago

Sorry but BS. Trumpo has failed at every single thing in his life, from business to marriage. If he had not be given money, he'd likely be doing unskilled labor somewhere. Harris has documented accomplishments where trump has documented bancrupties, ex wives, and felony convictions.

Open borders, giving “free stuff” to illegals, more money out of our pockets, a possible pandemic due to allowing people to come who do not have immunization requirements and don’t have to follow them here once they arrive. Overwhelmed social services.
