Early TL;DR-Focus' from 2012-2015 have an issue with the transmission (only applies to the Automatics/DCTs) which causes shuddering at low RPMs, in low gears. This is covered under warranty through Ford til 150,000 miles or 10 years for the TCM and 100,000 or 7 years for the clutches. Bring it to a dealership to fix it.
So as many of us know, the MK3 Focus has had serious issues with its DCT. The 2012 through 2015 have had the issues, the problem being the transmission shuddering, usually in lower gears. I've felt it in a 2014 and it was pretty awful, shuddering in low RPMs in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gears.
If you experience this issue and have under 150,000 miles and 7 years on/with your focus, you may be under warranty. The warranty was extended from 60,000 miles or 5 years to 100k or 7 years for the clutches and 150k or 10 years for the TCM according to link #.
Bring it into your nearest Ford dealership. They will either reprogram the TCM (Transmission Control Module) or replace the transmission with one of the revised editions, built in the later half of 2015 until now. Fight hard for that tranny replacement! From what I've gathered, the TCM isn't usually a permanent solution.

Hi guys, I am a 27F and bought my first car last year in April, a 2011 Ford Focus Trend Mk2 Hatch, 101,000kms. Its been going great until a bit of rain recently after I have had to park it in the street, and notice that the spare tyre area in my boot gets filled with water - without a possible drainage hole.
I took my car to my local mechanic (not a ford specific one) and they said the issue is too advanced and I need to go to a ford mechanic and get the parts replaced. They weren't specific on the issue, or the parts requiring replacement, and didn't even test where the water leak came from and it kinda of seemed like they just weren't bothered to even look or give me a quote.. :( as a female I've always been worried about mechanics and being taken advantage of.
I've looked up the issue on youtube, and have removed the back drainage holes for any future leaks in the back bumper - but I was wondering whether anyone else has had to deal with this, and if theres a possible long term fix? Like maybe resealing the back lights? The water leak was not bad at all, its isolated just to the back boot and I've removed the water that was sitting there.
I would appreciate recommendations/ your experiences! I love to try fix things myself (hence done the quick fix of removing the back drainage holes), but dealing with sealant and removing the bumper is way out of my ability.

I have an '06 2.0l that starts and runs great until it warms up to operating temperature and then it stumbles and stalls and won't restart until it cools down...no codes. Has anyone had this problem? Any ideas?

Do I need to use the OEM radio module?
I've replaced all the fuses related to it, so the next thing is the box itself. I've removed it, but was wondering if i HAVE to replace it with the shitty OEM one. I don't even listen to the "radio", I just want something I can Bluetooth my phone to for music
Focus 2013 model, the one with the small screen, not the touch screen.

2012 Ford Focus Titanium. ABS and traction control light have been. Codes told me right rear speed sensor was not sending a signal. I bought a comparable sensor from an autoparts store, then the code changed to C0034-4A (sensor signal strength low). Used a multimeter, the wiring should be good. Is it just that I'm not using a Ford OEM speed sensor? I was thinking of going to a pull-a-part yard and finding a Ford one.

Super interested in upgrading to all these lights. Cost to purchase should be around £700. Is there anything I should be wary of for installation processes and any issues with these products?
Thanks

Stopped at a stop sign then hit the gas maybe 20 miles an hour and my whole car lurches so I pulled over into the first parking lot. I can find and she’s really shaky real jerky so I turned the car off thinking maybe it just needs a break. Haven’t had any issues with it before I’m up-to-date on my oil change shift in reverse to pull out of the parking spot and it lurches again this time it lurches so badly but now every gear is neutral and these two fancy little pieces have spilled out of the engine bay. It seems to me that the engine is now a good 5 to 6 inches shorter and deeper in the engine bay than it should be. 2018 ford focus. Am I cooked

Hello. I'm guessing this leak comes from coolant reservoir? How would I fix it without having any experience. Is it something I can leave a while?
r/FordFocus • u/Sure_Watercress_8524 • 2d ago
I guess it did need a new cabin air filter 178,000 miles (old one is the first pic)

Hey guys, first time poster here. I'm driving an '08 MK2 facelift 1.6 TDCI 90hp focus, imported from Italy.
Whenever I hit a pothole, I hear this odd sound like and electric drill? The sound goes for about a second and then vanishes. I only hear it whilst hitting the first pothole after starting the car.
What could be the cause behind this?

Is it worth updating or should I just use my phone? I'm a kind of "everything working" guy but if it's not useable then I don't really need to update it and as I saw it costs A LOT.

this piece of shit has been hell. it’s been my only source of income (dealing with unemployment for almost a year now and since january i’ve been doing food delivery.) i had to halt my income because it had a leak, i fixed the leak, then there was another leak, i fixed that one, and it’s been running perfectly and now this. i didn’t hit anything, no one could’ve hit me yesterday (i noticed yesterday when i got home too) and those are dog scratches that have been there since i recieved the car from my dad. he lives four hours away from me and we don’t have the best relationship so i don’t like calling him up for help. it’s still technically his car that he’s just letting me borrow but anything goes wrong with it he blames me even though it had a shit load of preexisting problems when he gave it to me (i mean come on it’s a focus.) ANYWAY do yall have any advice on how i can rig it up temporarily? i don’t have money to replace it just yet and even more cant afford to take it to a shop. im scared of it falling off while im doing deliveries so who knows how long ill have to sit out till i can get money again. its literally ripping itself apart from where its hooked in place so i dont know where to start at all. i was thinking of trying to glue it together but i know that probably wont do shit. any kind advice is welcome

I’m trying to make some quick money and i want to know how much yall think i could sell her for!
She’s a red 2015 Ford Focus, 96,000 miles, has a few scratches and bumps on the exterior, interior is in great shape- black leather and radio works well, the engine has had some transmission problems but those have been fixed. Remote start and bluetooth.
Where do yall think i could sell her for the most? Thank you!!
