What heppen ?
MIL sent me this picture. Is this as simple as opening it up and reinstalling a c clip or does it likely need a new differential and axle shaft?

Welcome to the fourth edition of our Ford Ranger Buyers' Guide! Here you can post your general buying questions, get insight into issues, post ads to trucks you are interested in, etc. This will keep the sub more organized and get rid of the constant posts that fill the sub up with buyers only.
Here's the best regarded buyers' guide on the web!
It has all kinds of information you can use to better judge a truck you are looking at. Things like specific things to look for, specific issues pertaining to certain years, engines, etc!
Please keep posts in this thread specific to buying Rangers. Off topic posts will be deleted. When someone posts a "Is this a good deal" post in this thread, please reply to it with your response, don't just reply to the general thread. Keep it organised please :)
From here on out, new posts made that should belong in here will be locked, and that user will be informed to post it in this thread. Thanks!

Just wanna give a heads up since mod queue is showing a ton of posts that get removed lately by reddit, so I just wanted to give a heads up as to why that is.
Using shortened links, regardless of the shortening service (tinyurl, website built in short links like amazons a.co links) are auto-removed by reddit themselves. There's nothing we can do to disable this auto removal.
If you notice your comment reply or post isn't appearing, this is why.

1995 Mazda b3000, 300,000 miles
Custom welded ladder rack made with from high-strength recycled fence posts and a harbor freight flux core welder
The door handle broke last year. That's okay, doors are for pussies.
Attached some Rock Auto clearance mirrors to the body panels. I recently replaced the sheet metal screws with rivets, because I was worried they didn't have enough bite for when I hit top speed! (70mph)

Here is my 95 Mazda b2300 that I picked up a little over a year ago for $500 in drivable condition. Since this pick I have stripped the graphics, added a black tool chest and am now waiting on side rails that will be installed next week. Lots of hail damage but will be getting painted in the near future.

I posted couple days ago and I finally done it! I bought a Ranger!! I have a no idea how much mile it has (5 digit odometer lol)but everything seems to be running great!
As yall can see it needs some love and care, and mechanically I'll have to stay on top of the maintenance since it has unkown age.
Any advice, tips, or cool build is always welcome!! I'm not really mechanically inclined so I'd love to learn anything from you guys!!

I've had a 2010 Ranger XLT 2.3 RWD with almost all factory options for about 9 years now and it's going on 146K miles. Runs and drives great, super reliable, zero issues and low maintenance, ice cold ac, very clean no damage or anything, and averages 18-20 mpg. It is aging though and while it has a ton of life left id imagine, I won't be driving it nearly as much.
It's been with me most of my military career having gone around many states as well as overseas. So it has some sentimental value.
I recently picked up a really sweet custom ordered 25' Maverick Lariat Hybrid AWD 4K tow as it felt like the closest I could get to this ranger but with more much needed space for the family. Zero regrets buying it as the single cab life could only last so long and it has everything I'd ever want in a vehicle except memory seats lol.
The advice I need is if it is worth selling it for $8000 (this is what someone offered) or keeping it for it's sentimental value. It might be at its peak private sale value right now but I'm torn if I would regret selling it in the future.
Let me know your thoughts or similar experiences!

I know its a bad idea, but Ive been bouncing around the idea in my head for a while to design a new intake manifold for the 3.0L. The plan would be to make a full replacement for the lower intake manifold, and make something like a holly highram. The final version design files would be released free of charge for anyone to get metal 3D printed(rough quotes are around $200-400cad).
While I know the 3.0 isn't really the best option for any kind of power, but I'd like to see what letting it breath a bit better could do. The intake should also take boost better then the stock plenum.
I'm wondering what off the shelf(currently available) 60mm throttle body should I design for. I would also design an "Adapter" to use the stock throttle body, and IAC valve. I will actively try as much as I can to make this a stock(gaskets, sensors, injectors, etc...) compatible intake. This would also eliminate the stock PVC elbow and replace it with standard properly rated hose.
This will by no means be a quick project, but I'm wondering if anyone would like to see this happen?

Just picked this beauty up friday but some all terrain tires on and planning on getting some clear headlights soon and toolbox.. but what’s some good websites or apps to get window decals from? not custom or anything just your typical truck decals/stickers.

I'm working on getting my former daily driver (then sold, then hit by a drunk driver, then repurchased and turned into a farm truck) back on the road. After replacing the bed and the drivers side door I took it to get an inspection. On the way the clutch went out, so on the trailer and back to the house. Now it has a new clutch, flywheel, and u joints, but as soon as I was done with that I noticed fluid was leaking from somewhere underneath. Turns out it was the brake line on the frame behind the fuel tank. That's now fixed and I am going to go ahead and replace the fuel pump while it is out. Anyone have any other recommendations on things to replace before I reinstall the tank and bed? The truck currently has 290 some thousand miles.

I got a camper shell on my 2003 Ranger. I'm in the process of building out the camper for road trips and camping trips. I'm hoping to find a solution to the gap between my cab and camper shell. I want to cover the gap and protect it from wind and rain. I'm looking for something I can somewhat easily remove if I'm going to take the shell off.
My purpose for this is for my cat she's quite the explorer and I take her camping all the time. If I do a longer road trip I'm hoping to make the camper shell accessible for her. They both have 2 stationary windows and a middle slider. Im going to connect the two sliders to create a short "tunnel".

Please delete if this violates any rules.
Reaching out here to see if anyone has any input for sourcing heads for a 99 Ranger 4.0. A buddy of mine was replacing head gaskets, and noticed both of his heads were cracked in between the valves.
He's having bad luck with getting replacement heads. Can anyone recommend how to do this? I think he's trying to avoid remanufactured, but are reman'd heads ok?
Thanks in advance!

Tire tread is good , last week I had small accident during rainy weather this truck did a 180 in the middle of 3 lanes , we were at slow speeds no major damage . But I took the same route today it had rained earlier and it fishtailed lightly today with even slower speeds than last time

Or should I say Rotten front end:
Watch in it's entirety. That rotten front end of yours is extremely dangerous.
How I came across this without seeking is amazing

I was looking for leaf springs on RockAuto and noticed the 2006 springs are cheaper than the 1999 are they interchangeable?

I am replacing my 2013 Jeep Wrangler 4 doors. After looked at Bronco, Bronco Sport, F150. I am kind of settled on ranger. The main feature I want is true 4X4 part time to deal with snow hill at my cottage and Adaptive Cruise Control. (Nice to have stop and go). Do you think I will be happy moving from Wrangler to Ranger?

Thinking of buying this off of facebook marketplace, how bad is it and how much would you pay? It was originally from up north, but now it’s currently in GA
