Has anyone ever had experiences with passed on pets?
I am so curious. When my childhood dog passed away I swear I heard his collar jingle. This was many years ago but it freaked me out. Has anyone experienced pets visiting you?

Our cat lived for 19 years. Most nights, she slept between my legs. After she passed, I definitely felt her plop down on me in the middle of the night.

u/EmotionalPurchase628 2d ago
I felt this exact thing. I can’t believe how many people experience this same thing!!
24
u/Bradiator34 2d ago
Same, though our cat always slept on my brother’s bed. He called me over from his room saying he felt her laying there. I saw an indentation at the exact spot he was talking about, as if she was actually there.

I just posted mine! So weird. I wasn’t even thinking about my pet. I wasnt even in the same room I used when he was alive.

I’ve had ghost cat visits in my bed as well. I’ve had a lot of cats over the years. I’ve seen a few from the corner of my eye - two different sweet girls come to mind.

u/Dull_Double_3586 2d ago
Yes. In fact, it’s actually very common within the first few nights to hear those regular routine noises that the pet used to make. When we put our 13YO Alaskan malamute down last year, we heard him shuffling to the bottom of the stairs and laying down and sleeping where he used to sleep because he couldn’t get up the stairs anymore. He was 130 pounds and my husband and I both just looked at each other and knew exactly what it was. If you think about a pets life and how routine it is, they imprint so easily in the space around us because their acts are so repetitive.

u/Ok-Paint7856 2d ago
That makes a whole lot of sense!

I went down the rabbit hole after it happened to us and found a bunch of vet articles on it.

After my childhood dog died, I swear I heard his nails on the kitchen floor for about a week after his passing.
14
u/EmotionalPurchase628 2d ago
I have experienced this too. It always seems to happen for a short time after they pass. I wonder if their souls linger for a bit before moving on.

u/Spirited_Touch7447 1d ago
I think you’re right about it just being a short time after they pass. I 100% know that all my fur babies will be waiting for me when I pass.

u/Pugtugs 1d ago
Me too it’s going to be wonderful!

u/Hour-Boysenberry-393 8h ago
I hope so. My dog passed away yesterday and every sound I start looking for her. I still can't believe she's gone. I'd give anything to be able to see her and my childhood dog again. I hope the afterlife is real

It's been going on 6 years now and I hear hus nails every night on our kitchen floor. A pet that us truely loved never leaves you

This is a hard thing to read as someone who has lost many very-loved pets and has never once experienced anything after they passed.

u/chalisa0 2d ago
Every time. My last dog was so active and noisy after passing, that I had to say out loud "Fritz, it's time to cross the rainbow bridge, go find (all of our other pets who have passed) and we will see you when we get there." It doesn't freak me out though. It makes me feel good. I will get to see them again one day.

I love when my childhood cat visits me!
What did Fritz do after he passed?
1
u/chalisa0 12h ago
It sounded like he was right there. We could hear him eating and drinking, walking down the hall on the hard wood floors, scratching on the door to go outside. That kind of thing.

My floof of a cat named Mambo (16 lbs) used to jump on my bed, and nudge me in the face in the middle of the night. It was like a check-in to see if I was alive I guess. Lol anyway, he passed Dec 31, 2020. For like 1 month, I could have sworn I felt him, still checking in on me.

Yes, I had a large gray tabby that was mauled and killed by neighborhood dogs after he escaped from the house. I was devastated. A few months after his death, he came to me in a dream to tell me he was sorry what happened upset me. He said he was being a teenager and decided it would be fun to explore outside the house.

Yes! I've had many dogs over the years. I had Emma, a senior cream colored pekingese. She passed. The next week I got up to make my coffee in the morning. My other dog , a boston terrier followed me. My coffee area is next to a sliding glass door where the dogs go in and out. As I'm making coffee, I hear Emma's very loud and familiar "let me in bark". I thought for a second, oh she wants in before it registered she isn't here. My boston looked on guard and barked, and ran to the door as he heard her as well. I didn't say anything about it to my husband. A few days later, we were quietly reading in the living room and heard her again. My boston was asleep. I said. Ok, "that was Emma". My husband looked confused and checked all of the rooms. I then told him about the other morning. He seemed relieved and said I'm glad you told me because I thought I was imagining things. He said for three days he has heard her nails clicking across the floor. Later that afternoon, I was alone and I saw Emma's ghost form walking into my bedroom. She looked the same, walked the same but was a bit transparent, like a movie projector. There was no other happenings after that!

Yes! I have a ghost kitty in my house. I'm not sure which one (of the MANY) but it occasionally rubs on my leg when I'm in the kitchen or jumps on my bed at night. I have 5 live cats in the house right now but there's definitely another. My niece was over and asked me if I had a ghost kitty. She'd had an encounter with it. I think it's kinda cool!

My fifteen year-old orange tabby passed last month. The same morning, not long after, I was laying on a cot in another room when I saw a cat stand up and look down at me. I turned my head to look, thinking it was my other cat, but there was nothing there. A few minutes later I was sitting up on the cot when I saw a cat come around the corner and look at me. Once again, I turned to look and there was nothing there.

Yes! My cat passed two years ago and not long after I could hear little paws coming up my stairs. It’s stopped now. I miss hearing them but I know he was here

A few months after we had to put our family dog to sleep I heard her footsteps down the stairs just before my mother put the key to the door. I came down after in shock, my mother confirmed that she'd heard her steps a few times too. I didn't say goodbye to her when she left for her last walk, I couldn't. It was comforting to know that she was still around in a way.
Have had a lot of animals over the years, loads of fosters and adoptions of all sorts and I have experienced a few things that makes me believe that their souls will always come back to you some way or another or nudge you in the direction of finding another.

Yes I’ve got my childhood cat that visits me from time to time
I know he’s there because the bed sinks down very slightly like it would when a cat comes to lay by you. When he first passed, he used to sleep between my legs at night so I still slept that way so he could still visit me. I hav done named rascal and my other one is named frisk and they both have visited

My beloved boy cat passed way last year in his sleep. Two months later, I had just got home from surgery and was laying in bed reading my phone when he walked on the bed right behind my phone then disappeared. He did that three nights in a row. I haven’t seen him since. I think he came by to check on me before going onto his next adventure…

Yes
I had a cat named Molly. She was a black and white shorthair. I had from birth, well into my teens. She used to climb up on my bed and sleep in a little fuzzy loaf on my chest.
The night after she passed, I went to bed and laid there for a few minutes. I then felt the familiar weight of a cat jumping up on my feet at the end of the bed. I held my breath wondering if I had imagined it. I then felt the footsteps as the cat walked up to my chest an got comfortable. It was super surreal, but also incredibly heart warming.
That night I reached up and pet my cat one last time as if she was still there, and said my final goodbye and goodnight. I still miss her.
I have a 17 year old calico now named June. Not looking forward to the pain.

After one of our dogs passed I heard him walking outside our bedroom door. It sounded just like him. I opened the door and called out his name, the sounds stopped. I’ve also heard him snort one time as well. The house was empty except for me.

Not long after we had to put our beloved dog Merlin to sleep, I heard him barking to be let in for about five days. It was a very distinct bark, and I would automatically go to the door to let him in.

A shih tzu I rescued escaped and we couldn’t find him anywhere (even enlisted the neighborhood kids). One morning, I passed my son’s bedroom & his door was open, I saw the missing dog’s phantom jump up on the bed. The next day, I took the highway home & found him, he had been hit.

Yes, my labby mix, who I had when I was single, and went everywhere with me. He went through a bad breakup with me, as a pup, and then lived in 3 different places with me, until I met my husband and we settled in to our own home. I started college when I was single and worked at a veterinarian's. So he came to work with me daily, and even slept in the car for a few hours during my college classes. A week after he passed on (14 years old), he came to my bed and nudged me. It wasn't a dream. He was definitely there with me.

2 years ago our cat Missy died at 19. The night after, I was going to the bathroom for a 3 a.m. visit and there she was sitting at my bedroom door as if I needed to let her out. Then I remembered she was dead. I reached down to pet her and she vanished. 🐱

u/EmotionalPurchase628 2d ago
Yes, right after my cat of 10 years died, I could swear i’d hear and feel him jump on the bed next to me right where he slept every night. I was grieving him pretty hard and always thought it was my grief imagining something I was so used to and comforted by. Now, I think his soul hadn’t quite left mine. I had a similar experience when my dog passed a few years after. I still miss them both every day.

I am so glad I found this. Our sweet baby (american bulldog) had to be euthanized Tuesday afternoon due to a very aggressive cancer. I have cried and second guessed everything that happened... she had health issues 2 months ago, we were told by one vet that she had cancer and then by another vet that she did not... she was only 5 years old. Last Thursday, she started showing symptoms of a uti, I did the same thing I always do, but this time she didn't improve, we were not able to get an appointment at our vet until Tuesday, and we were told that she had an infection in her abdomen but also had two masses, her lymphnodes were swollen and leukocyte levels were over 40,000. She was so weak and tired from all of her health issues over the past couple of months that we had to make a very difficult decision and have her put to sleep. I've been a total mess since she passed, she was my baby. Four weeks ago, we were asked to foster a 6 week old pitt/mastiff puppy who was severely malnourished and had issues with her joints due to a calcium deficit. We spent the first 2 weeks doing physical therapy with her, getting weight on her, and finally got her to the point that she was healthyish. We ultimately decided to adopt her, she would have been our foster for a good bit of time and we had already fallen in love with her. I took her outside today, and gave her a pep talk about going potty outside (she refuses to potty outside for whatever reason.) I continued to talk to her, and started talking about her sister who had passed, and how she went potty outside blah blah blah (yes I have whole conversations with my animals) I went down the path of asking myself if we should have had a second opinion etc, started crying, and finally I said out loud that I love her, I miss her, I'm sorry and asked for a sign that we did the right thing and she was ok. Less than a moments later I heard a bark that I haven't heard in days come from inside my home. I thought I was imagining it, but I heard it a second time and the puppy ran towards the house and sat down on the steps in the garage. After I heard it the second time, I could feel relief wash over me and have felt more at peace now. I thought I was losing my mind, so I'm glad I'm not the only one that has had an experience with a pet that has passed on!

I’m so sorry for your loss!!! Glad you were able to get a sign from your pup. I wish the universe would have seen fit to give you more time together, but so glad that she’s okay wherever she is. ❤️

1) Years ago my late BF had a cat named Oreo. She was skittish and at first hated me to the point of hissing at Jack when I came over. Slowly got her to come up for pets occasionally. After she had to be put down I was over and laying in bed. Jack was in the living room watching tv. Felt something get up on the bed and curl up behind my knees. (She couldn't get on the bed when I knew her.) I remember thinking "Ok, Oreo is visiting and telling me she's ok, or someone broke into the house, killed Jack, and is now laying in bed behind me."
Took me a good 3 minutes to get braave enough to check. Nobody there but a little indent in the blanket. I was so happy it was her lol
2) For 2 weeks before my Mom had surgery we kept hearing our dog. He'd been gone for several years. I'd be in the basement and hear his nails upstairs above me on the kitchen floor. A few times we'd hear him scratch at the back door and almost got up until we remembered he was gone. And if something was scratching we should leave it outside. Mom said if he was coming for her he was out of luck because she was going to be fine.
Sadly, she wasn't. We all agreed later we hoped they sent someone other than the dog to collect her because she hated that dog (she was good to him, it's just he really irritated her. Sister's bf gave him to her without asking permission, then they moved in together and left the dog.) and we didn't think she'd go with him.
3
u/rarepinkhippo 1d ago
Any chance your mom secretly loved him? (So sorry for your loss!)
3
u/kittyhm 1d ago
Oh, she loved him yet hated his existence. After we lost Spunky she didn't want another dog. At least not for a few more years. She wasn't mean to him (well, any meaner than she was to anyone else lol), but she always made sure my sister know he was supposed to be *her* dog. Didn't help sister's bf picked an abused fear biter that was covered in fleas so bad that his skin looked black when we first got him. He was a lot of work. And Mom wasn't in the right headspace at that time. He ended up being the best doggo though.

I got my first dog, Charm, when I was 4 years old. When I got my first apartment in college, she was 20 years old, and I brought her to live with me, but ended up having to send her back to my family because my neighbors complained about her barking. She was barking at them because they would come drink and party on my porch when I was at work, even though the porch was specifically included in my lease as part of my rental. Still angry the landlord sided with them.
Anywho, I was left living in the hostile environment alone until the end of the school year. Unfortunately, Charm fell ill and had to be euthanized shortly after she left me. I sat on the phone and listened to my family send her off to the next life. That night, as I tried to fall asleep, I heard the distinct sound of a dog bedding down outside my bedroom door where Charm's bed used to be. There was the click of nails on hardwood as they came from the living room down the hall, then a couple of scratches on the floor and the sound of paws circling and a large body settling on the floor. Finally, the phantom let out a contented sigh.
I knew that this phantom dog was NOT my Charm. The animal I heard was easily, at least twice her size. I didn't feel unsafe, but I wasn't brave enough to look outside that door. Years later, I would experience a similar phenomenon of the sound of a phantom dog the evening of losing one of our family dogs. It's happened 5 or 6 times in the last 15 years (We keep a lot of dogs). I believe that my Phantom Dog is shepherding our beloved pets to the afterlife and providing closure to our family.

Our family also sees a phantom dog before one of us looses a family pet. Even my brother and ex husband who are not believers in anything supernatural have seen it.

Shortly after my last childhood dog passed, I was house and cat sitting at a family friend's house. Shortly after he was house trained, I accidentally trained him to think anyone who was on the floor he could cuddle with like laying in your lap or laying down next to you (he was a mid sized dog). I swear I felt him lay down next to me before getting up and leaving. I was in bed and he never allowed on the furniture. The sense I got was that he wanted to stop by for one more cuddle before moving on to wherever he was going next.

I had a visit from my beautiful Rotty boy who passed away during an operation. For the next week I heard him huff and puff and do rotty rumbles clear as day. It gave me peace to know he was ok. Still miss the boof. 😢

I put up jingle bells on the door knob so they could let me know they needed out. Within the week of my girl Daisy passing I heard the bells at the door jingle waking me out of my sleep. Her brother William was sound asleep. It had to be her.
When William passed a few years later, his spirit went with me to visit my niece who was recovering at the children’s hospital. She saw him clear as day and said no, no boo-boo you stay there!! Freaked her mom and I out! I said someone came along with mommy to visit Abby!

My wife and I had a large Dalmatian mix that had massive paws and you could audibly hear her anytime she came down the hall. She died of cancer and I buried her in our back yard. We were sitting there eating supper and I swear I heard her paws plopping down our hallway for a second and it was gone, but it was the same time she would always want in from outside.

Two stories.
My husband's and my's first apartment together we kept seeing a ghostly white cat. Never in a negative energy. Neither of us had a white cat before, so thought maybe she died in our apartment. We named her white kitty, and constantly agree she seems a female. Since then, we've moved 11 times over 7 years, and always before we leave the place, we invite her to come with us. She still makes subtle appearances 1-2 times a week.
Our rescued cat, Rousey, passed after being with us for a little less than 2 years. My daughter, now 2 years old, was conceived shortly after the cat passed. She likes to look at photos on our phones and ONE time we showed her a photo of Rousey. My daughter now mentions her all the time randomly, and she's not a topic my husband and I bring up ourselves. We have two cats that live with us yet she seems to mention Rousey more. We're pretty sure she's here with us and makes herself seen to our daughter.

I put my cat down last year, 17 yrs old due to cancer. Once in a while I feel him hop on the bed and walk around me and hear him meow. Used to scare me when it first happened, but now I just whisper “i miss you Butters” when it happens.

Yes.. very much so... in fact when I was at my lowest emotionally, my dog came back as a specter to comfort me all night... pets unconditional love is beyond the grave.. literally... EDIT: after looking at others posts I feel I should add this happened Several years after she had passed.. (idk when as she was placed in the dog pound...:( idk if this particular experience is rare and how rare if so... just wanted to reiterate this happened Several years after she had most likely passed on.)

Back in 2011 the family cat passed away. We got a new kitten some months later. One night when our new cat was a bit older, i was in my kitchen and saw the new cat staring at the living room couch where our old cat used to lay down all the time. The new cat was just staring at that spot and wouldn’t break his attention off of it for anything. Which was very unlike him. He loves attention and treats and toys. Nothing broke his focus off of that spot on the couch. What’s funny is the new cat would never lay down there either. I always thought our new cat could see the ghost of our old cat.

People might bot believe this story but I promise I am telling the complete truth. So, when I was a kid, I had an "imaginary pet" named Cinnamon. My friends and I had come up with the idea at recess. One of them had a bird, one had a puppy, another a pony, and of course I had a kitten because I LOVED cats.
One day I told my friends I was going to take Cinnamon home with me for night. We had always kept our imaginary pets at school but I really wanted to bring him home with me that time for some reason. Anyways, Cinnamon was a small orange tabby kitten, probably like 8 weeks old. At this point in my mind it was all just make believe but I was being a kid and having fun.
So I got home from school and my dad was in the living room and my brother was sitting on the couch, and I was "introducing" them to Cinnamon. I pretended to set him down on the floor and a second later the blinds on the window across the room from us started shaking back and forth like a cat was playing with them!!!! The window was NOT open and the motion was literally like a cat was grabbing the blinds and shaking them back and forth. At this point I was legitimately scared and I started panicking and my dad had to calm me down and tell me it was just Cinnamon. My brother said "Cinnamon do that again" and the blinds started shaking again. So I said "Cinnamon stop it!" And the blinds stopped shaking. I went over to look at them and there were little puncture marks like a cat had chewed on the blinds!
About an hour or so later we left the house to go pick up my mom from work. I decided to bring Cinnamon with me on the ride, and I put him on the seat next to me. Every once in a while I would feel pressure on the side of my thigh like there was an actual kitten leaning up against it, when nothing was actually there.
A few months went past with nothing else happening. One day, I was playing around with my dad's old digital camera. This was like 2006 so it was a big bulky thing. I decided to have a photoshoot and play pretend like I was taking pictures of Cinnamon. I started pointing the camera around and taking pictures of where I thought he was. The hallway, the couch, under the table... There was nothing on the pictures and I was bored, so I told Cinnamon to sit still for me so I could get a picture of him because he was being too rowdy. I then took two photos one after another while sitting on the carpet facing the TV. The first photo showed nothing. But the second one SHOCKED me. At the bottom frame of the photo, there were two unmistakable cat ears and the tip of a tail, bright white in color. There was NOTHING on the lens that could've caused it, and I had just been taking pictures for sh1ts and giggles not thinking I'd actually capture something. I was shaking with excitement after this because I knew for sure that Cinnamon was ACTUALLY real, he wasn't just an imaginary cat. I took the camera and ran across the street to my friend's house and showed her the picture, and she was terrified of it for some reason. I was planning on showing my mom the picture too, but somehow the entire memory card got wiped after that. I was never able to recover the photo again but I KNOW what I saw and I KNOW Cinnamon was real.

I can’t remember if this happened the night we put our 7 year old Black German Shepherd down, or the next day, but I was at the bottom of the stairs getting ready to head up to bed, and turned the lights off in the living room and glanced towards the couch to say goodnight to my cat when I clear as day saw my dog sitting on her usual spot on the couch. She turned her body towards me and acknowledged me. I did a double take and she was gone. I started sobbing and went to the couch but she was gone 😭 I do see her from time to time and feel her presence at work, when I’m in the car or sometimes I can feel her face on my side of the bed like she used to do when I’d wake up.

When I was a child I had a friend sleep over and we slept downstairs in the finished basement where the dogs used to stay. One of which had recently passed, the other a while back. I woke up in the middle of the night to scratching sound (like when a dog has an itch) and saw rapidly moving shadows coming from that room- I was too scared to go look, but I do think it was our dog visiting to this day.

Yes. I had a cat that was hit by a truck. He was a biggg Russian blue he would always run across the bed at our feet one time per night months after he was hit I was asleep and sure enough he ran across my feet. While I was asleep I know it was him. I never said a word to my wife. About a week later she said I could swear Dusty ran across the bed last night. I said hmm me too

Sometimes my dog visits me in a dream. I FEEL her. Could it be my subconscious? Absolutely, but it truly feels like a connection. It seems like she just comes in for a cuddle when her spirit needs it.

Yes! I felt a cat jump on my bed, walk up to my chest and then a warm, loving feeling like it had settled on my chest. I had to re-home him due to a partner who was allergic and I assume he came to say goodbye
5
u/Inevitable_Snap_0117 2d ago
Yep. When our dog passed I kept feeling her jump on the bed and see her out of the corner of my eyes. I didn’t say anything but then my 12 yr old son said he kept feeling her jump on his bed and seeing her out of the corner of his eyes.
One day after about a week I was crying because I missed her but I said out loud, “Roxy we miss you so much. But we’re going to be ok. You don’t need to stay here for us. We’re going to be ok.”
I didn’t tell anyone I did this but a week after that my son said he hadn’t seen or felt her in a week. I hadn’t either and neither of us did ever again.

We had a Persian cat pass away at 18+ years old and we captured a purring sound at the wife's place of work, on an audio file. The work is 25 miles away from home but she heard it one day and then took a recorder to work with her. By having the recorder in a place where only something very close could record, she heard the purring sound again.

Yes, when Oreo passed away, I felt him jump on the couch, heard him meow, saw him walk to his food dish, out of the corner of my eye. Several months ago, I felt him rub against my legs. Cayenne was eating in the kitchen when this happened.

Absolutely! A week after, I had to put my 17 yr. old Maltese, Lola down. I was in bed just resting (not sleeping) when all of a sudden I felt her little body pass through my ankles. ( I had them crossed while laying on my back) She used to do it when she was alive. She would always greet me by jumping up and down on her hind legs and run past my ankles. I sat up in bed so fast, half expecting to see her there. It was a weird sensation. One I will never forget. It's as if she came to greet me one last time. 😢

Yes! I had a cocker spaniel for almost 14 years. We bought a new bed a few years before we put her to sleep and it was too tall for her to jump up. She tried though! She would get a running start and crash herself on the side lol. After she passed, I would be sitting in bed reading or playing on my phone and my bed would shake, same feeling as when she’d fall short of her jumps. She’s been gone 7 years and although it doesn’t happen as often, it still does every so often :)

I’ve felt what was like a cat jumping on the bed at night and I call my cat and look and she’s not even int be room. I like to assume it’s my old cat Angel coming to cuddle.

The same night I had my old cat put to sleep, almost a year ago to the day. she was 16 and was suffering from thyroid issues and her kidneys began shutting down.
I was standing in the kitchen, preparing food, and my two kittens were circling at my feet wanting snacks, I heard cookie hiss. I thought no thats gotta be something else, The only thing that gave me pause was both kittens looked spooked like they'd just been told off.
Cookie was a cranky old girl and she'd told them off pretty regularly, so they obviously heard something too.
Since then I've felt her 3 times, once rubbing on my legs when I was in the kitchen making a ham toastie, the kittens were both sleeping in the other room so it definitely wasn't them, another time i felt a phantom cat walking on my bed. And most recently about a month or so ago, I was coming out of a meditation and i felt her tail brushing against my feet, so real that i didn't kick the recliner back down in case it was one of the kittens underneath me. i realised they were both playing on the other couch. I had her from 6 weeks old, I'm pretty sure she's still with me.

oh yeah. I've heard tail taps, cat scratches at doors, and nail scratches on my wood floors. all within days of each passing.

Yes! I’ve felt pressure in the bed. Felt like dog moving from one side. Hopping over my feet then back up the other side. The same movements like my pet would do. By the time i remembered . That he was dead for at least 20 years. I jolted up. It’s happened three times. All three times the same familiar sensation of my childhood pet snuggling at night.

My old dog used to always run and jump up onto the bed. Every now and again, to this day, I still hear the tap tap tap of her claws on the floor feel her legs stepping over me to get comfy. I miss her.

I've had a few. My beloved childhood dog, Betsy, has shown up in a visitation dream with my grandpa. Then I had a trio of cats that I adopted as a young adult whom, unfortunately, have all passed on. I've felt on 3 different times, a cat jump on my bed.

(I am sensitive to spiritual energy. I can sense spirits that make themselves known to me, but I can't "see" them. Its hard to describe. I don't generally talk about it with people who don't believe in the spirit world.)
Anywho:
My doggo had to be put down at 15. I adopted her at 6 months old. She haunts us and I'm OK with it. One night, I heard her claws tippy tapping across the floor and heard her chuff at me like she would when she was alive and needed to go out to pee.
Another time, I had been having a conversation with my mom about spirits and that night, I got a flash of an image in a dream of her peacefully curled up next to me on the couch. I was aware that she was dead in the dream.
I choose to interpret these instances as her telling me that she's still with me.
Her spirit is still scared of thunderstorms and comes to me as a ball of jittery anxious energy the same way she would when she was alive.
If she decides to go into the light one day, I will be OK with it. If she decides to stay with me, I'm OK with that too. I love and respect her so deeply, and I am so honored that I got to have her in my life.

It's happened to me a couple times over the years. I heard my grandma's toy poodle bark from another room. She died weeks before we came to visit. I saw my black cat on Halloween (lost him in the summer) and heard my other cat meowing.

When my dog died, I thought my other dog got up on my bed and sighed but when I got up the door was closed and she wasn't in there.

I had a 17 year old cat who was my boy. He passed about four years ago. Every now and then, I see something moving out of the corner of my eye that looks like his tail.

Yes! Our friend got us a wind chime for our dog, we decided to hang it in the house. A couple of times, with no windows open or fan on it started moving, all I said was “Hi Sir, we sure do miss u” and it stopped. I knew it was our boy Dillon!

After my dog passed i was dealing with a lot of grief. She used to sleep at my feet and i could swear after she passed i would feel breathing and her little movements at my feet. this happened on and off until i moved to college and now i’m out of the house and haven’t experienced it since

Yes indeed. I see a black cat walking past or in a doorway quite often. Immediately I check the location of my current black cat and it couldn’t have been her.

My wife and I both swear we've seen one of our deceased cats. I've seen it multiple times, and she's only seen it once. Both times, it was a quick black blur that we saw in the corner of our eyes. We both initially thought it was our current cat as he is the same color. Each time, it's been disproven not to be our current cat.

When my family put down our Norwegian Elkhound, Starfish, I hung her collar up on a pin in my room. I swear every now and then when I went to sleep I would hear her collar rustle. Not entirely sure it was paranormal, because I put it right under the lightswitch for my room which was also next to the doorway.

My cat had to be put down for low blood content, in the days afterward I had multiple experiences including: feeling him rub against me, things falling down in rooms nobody was in and seeing tails around corners in my peripheral vision.

When I was a kid we moved into a 15th century cottage which came with a host of previous residents. Most of the sightings were silent ex residents going about their daily routine. We did have some audible occurrences, of which my Dad took the brunt (particularly when he was practicing his transcendental meditation). We had an odd noise constantly in the tiled lobby that we all heard and couldn't work out. It was the sound of an animals claws padding 3 times followed by a bang. We got used to it after a while. Years after we moved in we were visited by a living resident who had grown up there with his Aunts during Ww2. He asked if he could see what it was like now and showed us photos of his Aunts and their dogs, one of which had a wooden leg. Case solved!

My Shih Tzu who was my baby, I brought her every where. She was so well mannered. At 5 yrs old she became critically anemic (I believe from tick bite but DR. disagreed)
But after she passed I hear her whine to get on bed (she did this sometimes cause she was stubborn to use her dog steps) I feel her jump on bed, n walk across bed. I feel each step. Sometime it wakes me up.
I talk to her n all. However It’s been happening less frequently. I miss & love u Pink

Yes, for sure. I think they stay with us or reincarnate into a new born animal that becomes our pet.

Yes, I’ve heard my cat jump off the bed like she did when she was alive, and recently I’ve been seeing my Best Boy out of the corner of my eye. I think he’s here to take his 18 yr old sister with him across the bridge.

I had a Japanese Chin who passed January 1st 2021. A few months later I adopted a Shih Tzu. There have been many nights when Gypsy (my Shih Tzu) will be asleep next to me but I feel another dog walking on my bed. I know it's Tazzie (my Chin) visiting and giving her approval. The first time it happen I was startled. Now I welcome the visits. I love knowing that she's here sometimes.

My little girl passed in October of 2020. I was such a mess without her (she was my entire world) that I adopted a little guy on Christmas Eve of 2020. I have also felt my little girl walk across my bed and there’s no way it could have been my little guy I adopted because he was sound asleep right next to me every time it’s happened. I love it when it happens, I miss her so so much.

I love knowing that I'm not alone in my beloved fur baby visiting me. The first time it happened I was so confused. But when I realized it was Tazzie I was so happy.
It's lovely knowing that your baby visits you. They must have loved you as much as you loved them. And that is beautiful.

My dog had a stuffed moose that he LOVED to throw around for a while then lay down and suck on until he fell asleep. After he died, I put it on a shelf for memories. I kept finding the moose on the ground and recently damp. I asked my roommates to not give the moose to their puppy, because logic said that's what was happening. The puppy couldn't get to it on her own up a 6' shelf, right? But they assured me they hadn't and never would have, for obvious reasons. And anyway, I saw her avoid it completely on several occasions so why they would give it to her to play with didn't make sense. But I kept finding it on the ground or the couch not far from the shelf.
I eventually just left it on his bed in the corner for a few days and the next week while cleaning, it was dry. I assumed he finally moved on and put it in a little memorial box

I have! I had a beloved dog that ended up passing. I was in bed and I 100% felt him walk from the foot of the bed up to lie down next to me.

We lost our two senior dogs who were best friends very close together. Afterward, we had no idea what to do and were just sitting around the house mindlessly watching movies because we couldn’t deal. We kept having weird electrical-type glitches with lights and with the TV, where it would hang up right after phrases like “good buddy.”
I’m not sure how to think of this (whether it is actually them or not), but my partner is sort of a spooky, ESP, seeing-ghosts type, and has a tendency to have very vivid visitation dreams of those who have recently passed. They have had a number of dreams with one or the other of these same dogs, more often the one who was spookier in life (would react to the same ghosty stuff my partner saw, while our other dog and I were oblivious). Both dogs have since told him in dreams that they were going to be reincarnated — the spookier one apparently said my partner would be seeing him less often (or he wouldn’t be there for a while, or something like that) because he was going to be coming back — no detail on how or where though (so I always hope we might cross his path again in some form). Our other pup reportedly came in a dream one night excited to tell my partner that he gets to come back as a whale!
Two other things:
Years ago, my best friend and I worked at the same place and were both close with our boss, who was a big dog lover and had a bunch of misfit mutts. One day we came in in the morning and recounted to each other how we had both dreamt the night before of our childhood dogs, whom we hadn’t dreamed about in years. (It wasn’t like the dogs had come to us to chat or anything, just nice dreams where it was as it had been in the past with them.) We realized that our boss hadn’t come in yet and it was late for her. Then we found out that the reason she was late was that one of her very beloved dogs had died that morning. We shared about our dreams when we saw her and she said it made her feel better thinking that it was significant, perhaps indicating that her pup got wherever he was going okay, or etc.
Also years ago, we rented a house and upon moving in discovered that the owners had moved out and were renting it to us had left some expired cans of cat food in the pantry. So we took it that they must have had a cat who passed, or else the cat food wouldn’t be expired (or would have been taken with them when they moved out). I swear I felt that cat rub up against my legs like they do. And I am NOT ghost-sensitive at all, but the feeling of them rubbing on your legs is so unmistakable and imho doesn’t feel like anything else. We had dogs but not cats, so it definitely wasn’t like a living cat rubbed on me and quickly got out of the way or anything.
I really do think that they are able to stay around in some way, or be multiple places at once, or just that their presence is so powerful that an echo of it stays around, or who knows but it’s definitely something.

Yup, my mom heard one of the dog collars after she had passed.
One of my other childhood dogs had passed, and I heard him plop against the outside door. Just like he would do when he wanted in.
Still feel one of my cats that had passed, go by my legs.

Definitely. I have a bell on my doorknob and my dogs figured out how to boop it with their noses to go outside. I lost one dog in October last year and I’ve heard that bell ring many times now. Many of those times the other dog was in view and not by the door.

My most beloved cat Torbjörn developed a rare autoimmune disease that was never going to get better, although it could be managed with meds for a while (in in his case, it was about two years) until it was finally “time” due to quality of life issues. The day I put him down, I kept feeling his weight next to me on the bed and my other cats kept waking up and looking at the door like they always do when another one of them walks into the bedroom. This went on for three days. I swear it was him.

My friend’s house was haunted by a cleaning lady and her little dog. They could hear dog footsteps and his collar jingling, and sometimes the laundry would be folded but nobody had folded it.
This sounds like a joke, but everyone in her family swore it was true.

Yes. We still hear our pets who have passed on.
Sometimes we see a glimpse of them from time to time. Just a quick flash or blur then they're gone.

YES! My dog Sebastian Died 5 years ago, when I was out of town, after he passed, I was sitting in my computer chair and I SWEAR he bumped his mussle under my arm, Lifting it up off the arm rest like he did in life, just usual to say: "Hello, Pet Me". He was already cremated, but I PHYSICALLY felt his fur, on the back of my arm, and my arm was lifted upward.

They day we put down my Germand Shepherd as a kid i remember being at lunch, knowing my parents had scheduled to put her down while we were at school. My mom picked us up afterwards (i think normal end of school day) and we no sooner got home, walked onto the kitchen and greeted our other GSD (her mate) and our fire alarms went off. We were standing directly beneath it too. It went on for a minute or 2, and waving at it didn't stop it. We knew 100% it was our baby girl telling us she's still there and that she's without pain now. I will always remember that. She was a second mom for me and my brother as we got her when we were itty bitty. She had Addisons disease, and it was too progressed by the time she was diagnosed, so they opted to put her down. She was the sweetest. He shadow always roamed the house from that point onward.

My beloved guinea pig. I’m allergic to guinea pigs, I get stuffed up, my eyes itch and I wheeze. I love the little guys though, so that didn’t stop me. Shortly after Chuchie died, I ‘felt’ him cuddling me and broke out in a reaction.

After we had our dog put to sleep, the area on the floor where he used to sleep was unnaturally cold compared to a foot to the left or right.

Yes-had to put down a 16 yr old female AmStaff in 2020. Vet did it in the back of my hatchback and I drove her home. As I was carrying her body to the pre-dug grave we had for her in our pasture, I could feel her right next to me! Clear as day, out of the corner of my eye, saw her walking with me. Her energy was spunky, like she was young again. I felt like she was showing me how free she felt now that she didn’t have that old body.
