Hit and Run in Totem lake

Post image

Someone hit my parked car and left the scene today between 7-8 pm. However, someone who noticed this left a note. Whoever you are, I appreciate your help, and I wish the best things for you. The white Audi: if you don’t reach out to me, I will file a police report for a hit-and-run as I have your license plate.

Eh we got hit and run and had the video to prove it and the police did nothing about it :/

Depending on the evidence, was your insurance able to go after the other driver? All they need is a plate number usually.

Didn’t end up reporting to insurance because the police recommended against it when they showed up due to the damage being under $1000. We just ate the body shop cost. We provided the license plate from the side view camera and a video of the driver from the rear camera. I also pulled the video from a local business it was a plain as day hit and run. Planning to sue the individual in civil court 🤷

I’m more than happy to share the video / police case number / license plate / photo of the driver but don’t want to get banned so I dont know how much I can share.

Did they say why? If it's the other driver's fault I'd definitely let my insurance go after them. That seems weird.

They told us that reporting under $1000 worth of damage would just increase premiums and our deductible was high enough we would have had to pay the entire cost anyway. I don’t know why I’m being downvoted for this sorry you disagree with the police assessment it’s too late to report it to insurance now anyway
