Oh no I get to have fun and chill in the base game and then pay to have more fun and a hard challenge in the dlc how will I ever recover from this

u/Popular_Buy4329 Feb 25 '25

you can'tt be serious

u/funkymagee Feb 24 '25

Oh no not giving money to a company that keeps doing decent things in gaming and delivering a fun, reliable, couple hundred hour gameplay loop oh no what will i ever do when can i give them money for dlc btw?

9

u/InquiringCrow Feb 24 '25

keeps doing decent things

character edit vouchers

sells you half the game at full price

15

u/No_Sympathy_3970 Feb 24 '25

The microtransactions are scummy but they absolutely are not selling you half of a game lol. MH expansions are so big they could be their own game, and what you buy day 1 is a fully completely game (besides the whole base rise fiasco, but that's a different story). If they waited to finish master rank before releasing the game we would just be getting a game every 4 years instead of the pattern of 2 years for base game, 2 years for expansion.

Let's focus on the actual issues that this series has

3

u/SatnicCereal Feb 25 '25

To be fair to Rise, that happened during the pandemic.

8

u/No_Sympathy_3970 Feb 25 '25

Yeah that's why I called it a whole fiasco. On one hand they couldve delayed the game but I'm sure at the time they had deadlines to meet and ultimately just decided to release the ending later instead of crunching their team, which was a great way to handle it imo.

1

u/SatnicCereal Feb 25 '25

Agreed

The glazing/gaslighting mentality in this sub is real. Capcom zealots are the worst, they'll get less and less each game, and will still enjoy it like a bunch of frogs in a warm water pot under a fire.

Theres zero reason you should be downvoted for stating facts, and positing the very glaring issues with the franchise since World. Even Gaijin hunter said the ending is another cliffhanger like rise, designed for the content updates. The roster was also "disappointing", as he stated, and you know its bad if he is negative about anything.

You may have been too eager to use this image. I don't think it applies here. That comment wasn't defending Capcom; it was saying they're fine with the state of things.

28

u/Nice_Evidence4185 Feb 24 '25

Downplaying is literally a form of defending.

6

u/Streven7s Feb 25 '25

Dude, are you serious with this bullshit? Oh no, people like a game! Whatever will we do?!

-7

u/Twittle86 Feb 24 '25

Is this downplaying? I saw it as just a prediction of whether or not they'll enjoy the game, difficulty aside.

4

u/TheEVILPINGU Feb 24 '25

Oh, no, not at all. It definitely applies, that's the mindset. At least half of the guys in this sub are exactly like this. Like many of such cases.

27

u/Huntersaurus_rex Feb 24 '25

well when the multibilion dollar company keeps giving us good content, thousands of hours of funs, make changes that the player asked for in the new game, hear the people and even give dlcs that are not cash grab and are in fact a whole new endgame story....i think in this case i can say that they are doing a good work

-16

u/TheEVILPINGU Feb 24 '25

Yeah, we have seen that exactly with Dragon's Dogma 2. Wilds is not gonna be that bad or anything, yes, and it will improve with the DLC. But this design is just stalling and selling the full-game with the DLC.

And, we are not even talking about the optimization and the blur. Always half-assed. We should call out mediocrity at this point. For the betterment of the gaming industry.

Tell us more about your opinion of how a large Japanese Gaming Studios should operate, child who watches horny anime foot fetish content, and can't spell the word psychological. Love that you want to poke fun at physical appearance when you are probably a gremlin.

You've also clearly never had a job, so no one on this sub should consider your opinions on corporations.

I love when people hide behind memes because they don't have the mind to express their own thoughts effectively, and can't discuss anything with nuance. Especially when their comment history calls them out so blatantly.

9

u/TheEVILPINGU Feb 24 '25

Holy shit... Completing reading this was a very hard challenge indeed, definitely harder than this game is gonna be, lol. Shit, down your cringe level next time. God...

Oh how I miss the psp/3ds days when "DLC" quests and content was literally free, and everything worked on release outside of a patch or two.

Damn, you just took me down memory lane...

-2

u/NeatLog3611 Feb 24 '25 edited Feb 24 '25

Yes, I imagine reading is difficult for you.

Wow, you're making this easy!

0

u/Twittle86 Feb 24 '25

Maybe that is the general mindset, but not in this particular instance.

1

u/JackSilver1410 Feb 24 '25

I know, right? You mean they'll release MORE content in a year or two for a cheaper price like every single game from 2000 onward? How dare they?

1

u/[deleted] Feb 24 '25

It isn’t “fun” it’s dull

-46

u/ehtoolazy Feb 24 '25

And you're just okay with that? Lol

21

u/TopFalse1558 Feb 24 '25

Somehow I will manage...somehow

This! The amount of joy MH brings me is priceless!

-2

u/ehtoolazy Feb 24 '25

Mfers spend thousands on phone games and say it's worth it, doesn't mean it is

7

u/BagONutts Feb 24 '25

But we aren't talking about thousands are we...

As far as the game economy is currently, Capcom could be a lot worse than some of the other devs out there. I pay for content I find worth it and don't for ones I don't. I'm not telling you it's worth it according to your own value system.

A former boss of mine spent $6k on a phone game. He dgaf and had money to burn. I thought he was insane but that's what he valued.

0

u/ehtoolazy Feb 24 '25

Right but I don't have to play this now just because it comes out now. Honestly as patches go on, The game will actually run better and more smooth than it does on launch. Same thing happened with world. And just like world you can sit there and wait for the good DLC to come out and buy that plus the game for $60, instead of buying the messy unoptimized game on launch. Just because they make a game we like doesn't mean they get free passes for anything

1

u/BagONutts Feb 24 '25

You are right you can wait as long as you need to. Plenty games I waited for....Just won't be this one. Hope to see you hunting when you feel it's worth it 👍🏾

Oh no the company that makes video games I like and enjoy will get more money that I’m happy to spend.

-2

u/ehtoolazy Feb 24 '25

Yeah and ppl happily dump savings into gacha game slop that doesn't mean they should

5

u/Whitefang904 Feb 25 '25

If you don’t want to spend the money then don’t. Nobody is forcing you to. I’m sure Wilds will go on sale in a few years so you can wait until then.

0

u/ehtoolazy Feb 25 '25

You say that but people have gotten upset when I say I'm not paying $70 on launch for a rushed game that's not optimized

2

u/Whitefang904 Feb 25 '25

That’s great. Anything else?

1

u/ehtoolazy Feb 25 '25

Idk you tell me, you are still here

-1

u/xCussion WHERES MY FUCKING TONFA CAPCOM Feb 25 '25

You are not a real person

2

u/Whitefang904 Feb 25 '25

I know it’s surprising to some, but people have been spending more than just $60 on games for years. Some games are even worth spending so much on!

-1

u/xCussion WHERES MY FUCKING TONFA CAPCOM Feb 25 '25

yea yea whatever you say capGPT now help me write this essay

13

u/Bigma-Bale Feb 24 '25

Since when are we attributing difficulty with cost?

-7

u/ehtoolazy Feb 24 '25

Why buy the challenging game series to be challenged true

9

u/Bigma-Bale Feb 24 '25

The challenge isn't the only reason people play MH tho. Same way people don't only play Souls games because they're hard

0

u/ehtoolazy Feb 24 '25

I don't play it for it to be easy, and that is why people play souls games because that's why I played every title from them. Go play the og monster hunter titles, unforgiving games

5

u/Ok-Neighborhood6579 Feb 24 '25

The base game of those older games are also easy the game just felt clunky without all the qol changes but they weren't really that difficult of course at end game and added content they get harder that's how the series works

3

u/ehtoolazy Feb 24 '25

And much like the base of world all the good content is in iceborne

1

u/The_73MPL4R Feb 24 '25

That's because the OG games were broken buggy messes

2

u/ehtoolazy Feb 24 '25

Well I hope you're prepared for 60 fps or less in normal combat, let alone a turf war, Cuz this one's $70 in 2025 and is too much for top of the line of parts. Good thing I got this nice 240 hert monitor to get 80 frames out of a cutscene lol

1

u/Bigma-Bale Feb 24 '25

And would you pay $60 to play MH1?

2

u/ehtoolazy Feb 24 '25

I paid 45$ for freedom unite 2 back in the day, And if I had a time machine to go back I would do it again. But no I would not pay $45 for it in 2025 just like I'm not paying $70 for base wilds

1

u/IhateScorpionmains Feb 24 '25

If you want challenging then play the games with subpar gear. Set your own challenge. Or better yet, play a competitive game and aim for best in the world if you want a real challenge so bad. Ultimately you're still playing against enemies designed to allow for victory so eventually you'll win. Not the same if you're playing against a player that's genuinely better than you. They won't let you win so easy.

2

u/ehtoolazy Feb 24 '25

I shouldn't have to manufacture difficulty in a game. I'm just going to wait for the DLC when it's actually challenging

1

u/RexGoliath75 Feb 24 '25

Is that not the same for any game with major DLCs? Monster Hunters expansions provide a lot more then just an extra difficulty

2

u/ehtoolazy Feb 24 '25

Well coming off of rise I've been craving a challenge from monster Hunter for years now. I put down rise because it felt way too arcade and wasn't a challenge, outside of artificial difficulty. When you've been craving more main series content on par with iceborn and all of the reviews say it's easy, as the price increases, is disappointing. I don't play this series to blast through it and die to a monster once or twice tops, And that's exactly what I'm afraid this title will be base game. It's not a rule that you have to play a game on release for full price, And I don't feel like a rushed unoptimized $70 title is worth the price.

0

u/RexGoliath75 Feb 24 '25

Well yeah, going from endgame Iceborne/Sunbreak into the early stages of Wilds, it’s going to feel significantly easier then usual. The games mechanics aren’t terribly different so of course you are going to be able to handle the beginning of the new game a lot easier. It’s like being an experienced baseball player playing in the major leagues having to go back to high school level in order to rise back up. They aren’t gonna have the game come out the gate being Sunbreak difficult.

Garuntee this guy defends microtransactions

0

u/ehtoolazy Feb 24 '25

No I actually have a job and live outside of my mom's basement and have bills lol. Tired of basement dwellers shilling out their whole life saving and telling me how it's worth it. I might not even touch this game until the hard dlc comes out and the base game goes on sale with it.
