Me knowing my impatient ass with mediocre bow skills will get wrecked before reaching high rank

…yo make me scared. 😱 I was going to do a first time hunt using bow only playthrough.

Not allowing myself to comfort pick my main…. Will bow be that much harder than melee weapons!?

Discerning Dodge is one of the most broken thing they added to Wild. Bow's gonna be more than fine.

it's like all you need now is Constitution now with how much Stamina a Discerning Dodge restores. It will only get crazier with more aggressive monsters as well as that only means more Stamina gain. With the new coating system though maybe Close-Range coats and Enhanced Close-Range coats won't be in game any more, but imagine if it was with what Discerning Dodge is. Doesn't even matter if it's not infinite now.

Enhanced close range coat? What that?

some bows in Sunbreak has Close Range Coating+ which makes their raw damage a bit closer to Power Coat. In Master Rank Power Coat is probably be better, but some monsters are better killed with C.Range+ since their usual attacks can put you really close to them, making Power Coating a little less useful due to losing Critical Distance. Unless you're really accurate and almost speed-runner level that is.

For Wilds, earlier monsters kinda have pretty small range on attacks except maybe Arkveld, so C.Range+ will see better mileage with Discerning Dodge earlier on. C.Coats were also infinite back then so you apply them once and that's it, shotgun everything with your bow. But maybe I'm just spouting shit at this point. It's honestly all exciting to me that I decided not to use Bow too much after feeling it in the beta, I just need to know the new controls and if it was more Sunbreak or Iceborne (both, kind of both).

Iceborne and Sunbreak both sort of revolve around dodging regardless of P.Dodge or not (for Sunbreak with a specific Switch Skill, P.Dodge is mandatory) and that takes a toll on stamina. Constitution 4 and Stamina Surge (or Dash Juice) is almost mandatory for a good time on Bow. Having Stamina gain on p.dodge while also giving +2 (or max, beta bow only seems to have Charge 3. We won't know until Master rank probably) charge makes it the most nuttiest version of the bow to a bow veteran. That can drop two armor skills altogether and you just.....roll with anything and everything really. Constitution likely still going to be good for building up charges but Discerning Dodge is really just so strong. I thought infinite P.Coats was good enough to start with the Bow this time but seeing that stamina gain on Discerning Dodge? ugh spare me, I can only contain so much excitement. Just the thought of being able to slap anything for armor skills is making me salivate.

I didn’t check in the beta but are we getting gyro aiming again?

If you're playing on PC, you can configure gyro aiming for dual shock and switch remotes.

Nope, PS5 this time. Though I might double dip on PC when I upgrade my GPU, I’m working with a 1070 right now so not exactly current

That being said also conside a cpu upgrade too if you don't have atlease a Intel 12th gen or ryzen 2nd gen. the gpu is the work house while the cpu is the support

Yeah I’m gonna probably have to build a new machine for this eventually. I have a 6700K in this one because it’s a music production PC primarily. I got loads of RAM though!

Bow about LBG? I really liked it in World but it seemed a bit underpowered in World (but I'm a noob).

With no experience in bow, It Will probably be the most broken weapon, again

If they didn't touch anything after the beta, I would agree 100%. But now, it's gonna depend how much they nerfed Tracer arrow I think.

I don't see this version of Bow being less than S tier no matter what they do though.

Mechanics can't fix skill issues
