While true, this is also the first time an MH game has release day 1 on PC, so the PC userbase may have eaten a bit of the console playerbase. How much (or if any) we don't know unless they give us numbers specified by platform.

Tell me which one released day 1 for PC also?

- MH world, original release on Xbox and Playstation 26th of January 2018 while PC release date was 9th of August 2018

  • MH Rise, original release on Nintendo Switch 26th of March 2021 while PC release date was 20th of January 2022

Iceborne and Sunbreak are expansion and if you already bought the game on one platform most people are unlikely to buy the base again + dlc on a second platform. And even then Iceborne was also later on PC than consoles, only Sunbreak was same day, but like i said base game was earlier and therefore many stayed on the platform they first bought on.
