Yeah amplification is a better way to put it. World and Rise had steam peaks of 300k. Wilds is definitely a great game and I expected it be bigger than the last two but the only explanation going from 300k to 1.3m is social media amplification

Wilds also had a simultaneous release, which definitely helped it out compared to World and Rise taking a while to hit Steam.

Exactly. I had already bought World on PS4 and was pretty far into the game when it came out on Steam. I wasn't going to play it on Steam with no way to port my character and progress over. I'm glad Wilds is getting the attention it deserves regardless of the hiccups.

That’s a good point that I hadn’t considered

I think a bigger factor is this is the first time a MH game is released on PC and consoles simultaneously. World and Rise were only added to PC alongside their expansions. I imagine a lot of people had existing console versions and didn't want to start over or repurchase the game.

theres something to be said about simultaneous release for the mind of PC gamers as well.

I dont own any modern consoles, just my PC.

I am highly unlikely to purchase a "console port" 6-12 months after the game has come out on console because ive got a massive backlog of games to play and the hype is long dead.

With Monster hunter wilds, I love monster hunter but havent bought a game since the PSP version because it hasnt been simultaneous release and by the time it does come out ive basically moved on.

My friends group is the same, ive got 15+ people whove never played monster hunter before who bought this game at launch because we could all play together, and only two of us have ever played the franchise before.

You are completely missing the point that rise went down in graphics from World. I personally think RiseBreak are very pretty games, but the Normie gamers in my circle all didn't want to play Rise because of it. They all play Wilds now.
