MH Wilds Now that Shockproof is a skill

I better see every one of you longsword weebs sloting this on your build. No more "just slot flinch free bro". Slot this level 1 deco and you can no longer flinch your teammates with that 8 foot flagpole of a weapon.

For every longsword main I catch not using this skill I will eat 1 baby Seikret for dinner. No exceptions.

I slot shockproof because I know humans are selfish and want to optimize.

Sorry I have trust issues, I'm not missing my knockdown window just because you have the bleach theme blasting on full while swinging you 5 meter long sword

It's not like we're struggling with lvl 1 armor decos. Most of them are very bad so you don't care to lose one.

Yeah you really only have defense or on longsword quick sheathe everything else as a jewel 1 slot is just kinda whatever

Three slots reserved to counter whatever the monster is bringing; elemental resist, stun resist, or status resist.

3 point elemental resist pulls so much weight; increased survival against the strongest attacks, nullifies blights, and free +5% defense.

Antivirus is the best one, but you need to be rocking Gore's set for it to do anything. Growth, I guess? But even then it's hard to run out of lvl 1 slots.

Gore Magala’s set bonus frenzies you against large monsters.

Edit: big hands hit send fast heh.

But yeah you use that set and the deco mentioned for some fun frenzy things with the bonuses.

I’ve had to slow myself down when looking at new sets an actually look at the set bonuses. Some really fun stuff hidden away in there

Usually the set is there and then you tab over to the (usually unremarkable) group bonus. This one I think just looked at some meh skills and then started looking at how to best use the Ark / G Ark stuff.

Just Gore, unless you wear its set. It's a very good 2-set bonus if you slot antivirus though.

For how long, though? I’m very leery of conditional / duration based things if they don’t have consistent uptime to be worthwhile.

For a minute, and when it ends you get re-infected through Gore's set and trigger it again quite fast.

There's still some decent 1 slot skills.

Constitution and Marathon Runner for DB.

Recovery up, Divine Blessing, Widerange and Speedeating if you or your party member's are getting bullied.

I mean probably? I havent slotted many of em anyway tbf if at all. I manage my Stamina with shrooms and dash juice + im the wound demon in my group anyway

if you swap in and out of demon mode during flurry you can extend your combo and manage your stamina gauge at the same time. between this and refilling your demon meter after every blade dance 3 you can endlessly stay in a DPS loop as long as the monster doesnt get up to hit you again.

Dance and Flurry are still somewhat commital options to go for and Demon Mode offers stat increases so you want to be in it as long as possible.

Plus, Adept dodges are very powerful and having enough stamina to not be caught with your pants down at the wrong moment is very nice.

So yeah, the extended dance helps, but – while not 100% needed – I still enjoy having armour skills to help me a bit. Not like there are many lv one gems to choose from anyway ngl

To be fair to the DB players, I expect most of them don't even know about that interaction. Not that it excuses it, but if no one ever informs them or they never switch to a shield weapon themselves, they'll never know.

As a beyblade main, I can say that it doesn't. My lancer buddy and I found out the hard way during a hunt yesterday lol (We both wear shockproof)

It sucks that there's a one-slot deco tax on multiplayer but also at this point people have only themselves to blame if they go into mp without it tbh.

Optimize? Level 1s are all comfortable (except for Sane). There's really nothing to optimize at level 1
