MH Wilds I'm something of a crown hunter myself

Each has its respective benefits.
Mine: hunter saves their points. But more loading screens.
Yours: hunter gets more rotation of the supply ships cargo. Less loading screens, but more resets with hopes of getting the monster you want.

Saving points is neat, but I spent every point I had 2 weeks ago getting the final two crowns I needed. Something like 84k pts gone poof. Now? I’ve got 68k pts to play with again. I dont really find points to be a particularly limiting factor in this game.

I totally agree minus the use for the sport ship and saving investigations, it is not a limiting factor. Though with the increase of rest going from 300 to 500 points, I find that it's worth it now.

You can go fish with a net in that one pop-up camp in the Forest and amortize all guild point expenditures.

Id say you do both, save first, then rest, maybe after 20 rests and no crowns then exit back to the main menu and load the save prior to resting.

Your idea won't work.
The game auto saves every individual time you rest. Quitting back to the main menu would only take you back to your most recent rest in your scenario, not the original manual save.

I'm not sure if Mizu can appear in the arena area (can't remember what it's called rn), but for any monsters that spawn there, you can repeatedly travel to Suja and back and the monster's size randomizes each time you load the area. You can travel to any locale, but Suja loads quickly and the travel node is directly adjacent on the world map so it's the fastest to spam.

Yeah, the Wounded Hollow. The only drawback is that apexes and guardian monsters can't spawn there, meaning you'll have to use the rest method for those crowns.

O no what I mean is the method of
Rest until you get an instance with the creature you want.
Then return to the title screen without saving.
Log back in and check it again.
Then repeat steps 2 through 3.
The others who are still stuck on World ways of hunting crowns are wrong. This is easier and doesn't leave hunters without friends.

At the moment nothing but when Master rank dlc eventually comes out you will need to gold crown small and large of all the new monsters so might as well knock it out now while everyone is farming him

Fucking imagine Capcom drops the MR DLC and you need to talk to alma to enter the Archipel area with under water combat (huffing on hopium real hard I know) and she's like "we cannot leave untill we've completed our research. I need you to gold crown all monsters and fish" and you just can't access MR without that

I think you can find him in Wyveria as well. There’s a post in this subreddit where a tempered Mizu pulled off a simultaneous triple cart and I could make out some white foliage in the background.
EDIT: Yup, failed to notice the locale info was literally in the image. My bad.

Nice, still looking for mini mizu with the binoculars, but my first tempered spawn showed up as a large crown, so that's pretty sweet.

I wish there was a penalty from players clicking the "return from quest" option after x number of times.
I'm all good with crown hunting but really defeats the purpose of an SOS help when people leave 3 seconds after joining

I’ve said it before, there should be a leaver penalty like in WoW you leave and get a 30 min cd, you can’t join an sos or anyone’s quest for another 30mins that will make them have to run their own for a while

Okay but you need to exclude disconnects (which let's be real happen way to often) and then people will just start pulling their network cable to leave the quest. I am afraid you will not solve the problem that way

I’ve come across 6 or 7, hunted 4 and have both crowns. Maybe Mizu’s crown chances are absurdly high.

I have a rule where I don't abandon hunts. I honestly just wanted to farm Mizu's armor. A few investigations had the gaurenteed orb. So I joined them. And here we are. Lol

I got into an investigation that gave me the gold crown and the trophy for finding a gold crown with your binoculars! Even if he wasn’t, I am committed to slaying 50. I’ve also almost crafted all of his weapons (14 in total, one in each category)

All my mizu hunts were just responding to SOS quests. And apparently 2 of those 3 were the gold crowns. I got super lucky.

Yes but I think it's 500 now. But guild points are the easiest things to farm. You literally net a couple platinum and gold fish and youll have 500 easily in the span of 30 seconds. And crowns while Rare are not THAT rare. It probably took me like 25 in game hours total to farm every Monster crown for the achievement, and alot of that was the constant running around the whole map to get to all the monsters to look at with my binoculars. Getting the 2 for the new monster crowns within an hour or 2 is pretty normal.

Hunted = times you finished the quest
Captured = times you caught it

Does Mizutsune spawn in Wyvern's Hollow? If so, you can farm crowns on it quite easily.

You realize you don't have to kill every monster you come across to get a crown? You can just kill the ones that spawn with them. Voila, that how you get both crowns killing a minimum of 2 monsters.
RNG is just that, RNG. When I farmed for Gravios on the arena, I got the small one to spawn on my third try, and the large one to spawn on like the tenth try. That was like 20 minutes for both. Totally possible.

Sure, there's no denying people cheat on these things. But you're the one saying that for sure, when it's absolutely possible to get both crowns in under 13 hours with 3 hunted and 2 captured.

I don't know if the odds for crowns in MH: Wilds are public yet, but the odds for crowns in MH: World were 6% for a tiny crown and 3% for a giant crown.
I'm gonna be honest, I forget how to do binomial distribution with two different chances, so let's just assume that the odds for both are 3%, which means we know that whatever the final number is going to be is going to be under the real number. Anyway, the binomial probability of getting both a tiny crown and a giant crown if they were both 3% is 0.26%
According to the Steam achievements, 3% of players have obtained all awards, that we can comfortably assume are at the endgame. 3% of the 24-hour peak on Steam, 548,047 is 16441.
0.26% of 16441 is 43.
So, on Steam alone, we can conclude that more than 43 people have gotten both crowns within three hunts, which ignores other platforms, it only assumes that people who have completed all of the achievements are at endgame, when, its much more likely that a lot more people are at endgame, and it ignores curation: the fact that, in Wilds, people can check if its a crown before starting the hunt.

I know I am biased and I know I am one person so statistically irrelevant, BUT I almost got all big crowns and I am missing 70% small ones. I cannot believe that the small ones are more common :/
