i still dread the molten tigrex hunt, but it must be because when i fought him first time i had barely gotten any HR equipment, but it was suffering, it got to a point where i had to trust my palicos would heal me because i had already spent everything else, 4U was wild...
Bro, HR Molten was capable of one-shotting players in full G-rank gear. I shudder to think what a remastered version could do if it ever makes it to Wilds or its expansion.
I think it's that there are two types of people and Wilds perhaps slightly more uncharacteristically started to cater to the second. More longtime fans who want to be massively challenged and engage in long hunts, and potentially newer players who like just a little bit of a challenge and don't want long hunts. I don't think either preference is wrong, but there's clearly a minor conflict that has come of it.
This is becoming increasingly true. Base World definitely felt like it still had a good balance but right now Wilds is definitely way more skewed towards casual/new fans who only want to do small hunts and not all the work prior to finding a monster.
It’s also kind of BS that older fans are essentially punished by having to wait for a decent challenge either via drip feeding TU’s or having to wait a year + just for the DLC to give them some sort of challenge.

Fights took longer in Base World, that's all. They were still all piss easy until Iceborne and I don't think veteran players even really felt any pressure to interact with any of the systems surrounding the hunts. The only real threat in my run was Vaal Hazaak because I couldn't be assed to build Effluvium Resistance.
Its so funny all these memes keep going "Yeah lets see what they think when they get some real hard monsters". Yes, please. That's exactly what we want.
Yea, though I'd prefer not to have Fatalis. At least not the Wilds form. Playing any form of ranged on that fight was just not fun solo. I could break out the bombs and stealth and tools and it definitely worked, but anything that's not just "Imma spam interrupting fireballs 8 million times deal with it lol" is better.
I like that part of Zoh, it takes an element from alatreon and instead of you bringing specific weaponry you have to remember you have a damned slinger.
