Exactly!!!! I've dealt with so much hate over this.
Despite saying the game is incredible and looks amazing I'm still not allowed to mention that it's way too easy.
I have never had a monster hunter in which I don't have to use any armor spheres, don't have to make many different weapons, don't need armor passed rarity 4, don't have to gather shit to make consumables EVER. I beat all the content up until the update and have only fainted 3x and two of them were too the super nova attack you have to hide behind the rocks for (wasn't understanding the mechanic like an idiot). The other death was because I was nodding out over and over sleep deprived and it was to something stupid.
Yet when I mention the game being too easy I'm the bad guy. I really don't get it either. It's an opinion. I don't think people who want the game on baby mode deserve to be lambasted and bastardized.
I'm glad we are welcoming new players and people are enjoying the game series I have been playing for 20 year. That doesn't mean I think we should over simplifiy it into the ground in hopes everyone who enjoys Minecraft, Madden, COD, Minecraft and Fortnite will suddenly take interest in it.
Let's try and make both sides happy. It's upsetting when the long time players get no love on release all in pursuit of profit
Yes, the game IS categorically easier… I mean. I didn’t faint once during LR and I’ve been going strong my first couple hunts into HR. This definitely doesn’t seem to add up considering I did a re-run of World around Christmas and only made it to Diablos without a faint.
Now, I imagine I was more warmed up for Wilds… but still. The end of LR could’ve been more challenging perhaps.
I blazed through LR it literally felt like fighting my baby brother in a fighting game when we were young. The monster died so quick. I remember in like world even, LR anjanath was a difficulty spike where I randomly died and was like "wtf?"
Yes haha, LR Anja is a great difficulty jump. The leap he does makes him really dangerous because you’ll walk off to heal and he’ll catch you by surprise.
I guess the ice Apex might be equivalent… either that or the mission where you fight three of the floating ice monster. That could definitely cart you if you weren’t listening to the dung pod mechanic.
See, I just fought all three at once. It was extremely underwhelming. I got frustrated at the end of the hunt when I killed the wrong one on accident and went and grabbed some dung to get the other one out the way of the hunts, but they weren't hard.
The only struggle I had at all was the nova attack that one monster had where you have to hide behind rocks. I was too sleep deprived to realize I needed to hide so I carted 2x.
My only other struggle is in a group hunt against gravios the hunt timed out because they were getting whooped by him and not doing any damage. I knocked him down over and over again and was countering everything he did and playing really smooth but seeing as how it had 4x the health and they were struggling and I had a weapon that he had some immunity to I didn't meet the damage check and I timed out well he was limping
Same, the scales they dropped made it pretty easy to get one down and deal great damage. I intentionally killed them all cause loot is loot. But, I can see how a newer player could’ve struggled if they hadn’t seperate the three.
Nova attack
I was kinda lucky. I wasn’t paying attention to the guide, but I healed through the burn and had high resist, so I managed to survive the explosion my first time.
Gravios
I haven’t done gravios yet. I’ve been traveling so I’ll have to finish HR when I get back.
Wait what!? You can survive that blast? I thought it was insta kill no matter what. Admittedly tho like I said I didn't have armor passed rarity 4. I have barely made armor because the games to easy so I def have low defense lol.
Well, I was able to solo Grav despite him being tanky. My gear is really under leveled and shit though so when playing with the public with 4x the health they just weren't meeting the damage check and we timed out.
Its just a difference of perspective. Me and my friend have been playing since mhf2 and the first time we felt a difficulty spike we felt in base game World was behemoth and even then we thought the monster was unremarkable except his ecliptic meteors. From our perspective all monsters in World allowed you to walk off and heal scot free.
Oh yea, I was talking from the perspective of somebody who was new to world. The second time I played world Anja wasn’t a bother at all haha. In fact I was a little disappointed cause I remembered him being tough

It also wouldnt change anything about the fact that the vast majority of the game would still be way too easy.
Thats because difficulty problems are not about the Monsters that exist, but the fact that they buffed every tool of the player to the max
