Technically, the other person could be a drag queen, not transgender. You can't tell unless you ask/know them long enough to see them in other clothes.

Unless they don't want to be treated like a lady, in which case you'd have been incredibly rude to them. Treat them like a person. You don't need to try and clock everyone you look at.
