Constructive Criticism Welcome ✔️ First time doing this. Male here.

First time doing this. Since I HATE short nails might as well grow them a bit and make keep them presentable. I prefer natural coloured nails. One of my female friends thinks I should go with black polish.

Also, what shape should I keep my nails?

I started using solar oil since I wash my hands and scrub things a lot. It's hard keeping my hyponychium from getting pushed back and I hate gloves. P5 is one week later.

Buffed.

After one week of cooking, I can already see wear in my hyponychium.

I have thick nails, thinning from buffing is not a concern.

The female friend who suggested black polish views my nails with envy, lol.

How much protection does a clear coat provide? Hard not to cause problems when I'm scrubbing the stove top using a steel mesh scrubber.

Idk how good clear coat works cus I usually where synthetics and just started my natural nail journey. Black nail polish stain so as long as ur ok with having yellow natural nails after you take it off. The almond/stilleto is my fave but the squoval look good too. Tbh any shape look good w/ ur nailbeds 😭

Use basecoat to avoid stains.

Back when nail salons still used regular nail polish for pedicures they always used base coat and my toenails still got stained.

I suppose it depends. I work at a nail salon, and we use ORLY basecoat. No reported staining problems.

I never complained either cus they were gonna get painted again anyhow. And toe nails grow out fast & get cut so alotta ppl probably don’t even notice it
