Spring has sprung, welcome to April's edition of the Nothing Phone theming megathreads!
March's featured submission is by u/ItsAnfal - we like this home screen as it shows a different aesthetic you can achieve by using rounded folders, a feature many people don't know about in Nothing OS! The result is clean and minimalist - very nice.
So, show us your home screen and/or lock screen designs below! You can embed an image directly into your comment. If you wish to show more than one screen, you can reply to your own initial comment with more screenshots, or link to a third party album such as imgur.
To find all of our other past, current and future megathreads, please visit the r/NothingTech megathread directory.

We've seen lots of people are receiving their Phone (3a) series this week which is amazing! We understand that every one wants to show it to everyone, but then the other posts (especially from people that need help) are less visible...
We're creating this temporary megathread to allow you to show off your device and share your first thoughts, and eventual quick questions about the first steps into owning a nothing device! Want to send more than one image? Reply to your own comment with the other images!

Hey everyone, I’ve been waiting for the 3.1 OS uprade on the 2A Plus, but I still haven’t received it. Has anyone else gotten the update yet? Just curious if it’s a delayed rollout or if I might need to do something to get it. Thanks!

Hey everyone, I got this update for my nothing phone 3a a couple days ago but I haven't installed it yet, I wanted to check if anyone has and if there are no issues with the update, I think I read something about the update affecting the camera but not sure how likely it is to happen or if by now it's better to just don't update
Unsure if there's be any update right after this one but I come from a redmagic were every update had just more bugs and left things not working correctly or as expected on the device so now I'm very cautious with updates in general, but let me know if this one is all good, thanks!

Looks like three cameras and a flash from the dots... What do you think will the phone look like?

Hello everyone, I need to buy a new phone, and I'm in love with the 3a series. At the moment i can't go to the store to try them and see them with my own eyes because you can only buy them online, the prices are €410 for the 3a (256gb) and €530 for the pro (256gb). I would like to know, in your opinion is it worth spending more for the pro version? Are the cameras that different?

I can get both at similar price with 14t being slightly cheaper.
Is the 3a still worth getting with the current situation thats been going around and how Nothing's been responding.
I like the software of nothing way more than xiaomi and theres the ability to custom rom flash in the future on 3a. (14t uses mediatek)
14t better spec but hyperOs.... thats my main concern

Hello,
I have a nothing phone 2a. I am planning to buy phone 3.
But after knowing the essential key limitation on using AI and a potenial subscription, well there is no reason to have a useless key, in addition for being badly placed, if we can remap it. Bixby button 2.0?
I mean maybe if they placed the volume button and power button on the right and remap key on the left it may bé ok.
The phone 3 will be essential to know if nothing will fall or not. In Europe it is still a no-name brand because Xiaomi/Redmi is leading the midrange/budget market. And well Samsung/apple the highend one.
I have had a lot of Hope of a excellent hardware/software with phone 3 but after the essential key fiasco, i have no more Trust in nothing.
I already gave them a chance after the green hue fiasco on nothing phone 2a.
Cheers

How do you check if it's actually charging? Does the white light need to flash? (Sorry for the flair I don't really know what to tag in this case)

I have a problem with my Nothing Phone 3a. The NFC payment is not working properly with Google Wallet. I already added my cards, but when I try to pay, it shows an error or keeps saying “hold phone near terminal” even when I already do that.
I tried many things:
Reinstalling the Google Wallet app
Clearing cache and data
Factory reset
These things help only temporary or not at all. The strange thing is that NFC works with other apps, so I think the problem is only with Google Wallet.
I saw some people in the Nothing community forum also have same problem. They suggest same solutions I already try.
Does anyone know how to fix this permanently? Maybe it is a software issue from Nothing?

Looking to buy one or the other, heard they're pretty good value and wondering what people think, for comparison here are what they cost in my currency (AUD) vs euro and US.
CMF buds: 60 AUD or 32 euro or 36 USD.
CMF buds pro 2: 99 AUD 53 euro or 60 USD.
Mainly just for listening to podcasts or music while walking/running/working out, also wondering what the water resistant is like and if I'd be fine to wear them in light range, my wired apple earpods died and that's like my only comparison point for sound quality.

I've only recently heard about Nothing and for some reason I'm kinda drawn to the brand. I don't know anyone who has a Nothing phone so I would like to hear how they compare to other phones out there. I'm not really a tech person, but at the moment I'm just looking for a good quality phone. I really hate the iPhone. I currently have an Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro.

Picked up the 3a recently with some genuine curiosity. The buzz was loud, the design is undeniably neat, and Nothing’s marketing really knows how to set the stage. But once the curtain lifted… the performance left a lot to be desired.
Random slowdowns are frequent. The keyboard lags often enough to be noticeable. UI stutters pop in uninvited, even when doing basic stuff like switching between apps or scrolling through settings. And while these things aren’t necessarily deal-breakers on their own, they chip away at the experience—especially when they happen repeatedly.
Now let’s talk about the whole UFS 2.2 situation.
Nothing’s gone out of its way to mention that this is a “faster” 2.2. But at the end of the day, 2.2 is still an older spec. Whether it’s slightly improved or not, it simply doesn’t match up to UFS 3.1 or 4.0/4.1 in terms of real-world performance. You feel it in the small things—app installs take longer, heavy apps reload more often, and multitasking feels limited by bandwidth. Try downloading a video and using the phone at the same time, and the system starts to choke. It’s like it runs out of lanes on the highway and gets stuck in traffic.
That promised “faster than usual” 2.2 might technically be true in benchmarks or lab scenarios, but when it comes to sustained performance and user experience, it just doesn’t keep pace with what’s out there in the same price range. Throughput and bandwidth bottlenecks are very apparent under moderate load.
What makes it frustrating is that the phone isn’t terrible—it’s just underwhelming. The hardware has potential, and the aesthetic is on point. But it’s let down by software that still feels rough around the edges, and hardware choices that don’t quite match the level of hype the phone is wrapped in.
For a brand that’s all about the details, this one misses a few that really matter.
PS: this phone is coming from a stable with the Oneplus Open and Vivo X200 Pro in it. I am prepared to hear some criticism that I am coming from an expensive phone etc, but I have also recently used an iqoo neo 10r and a vivo T3 ultra. Both of them are in the same bracket but still feel eons ahead!

Seems like they updated the app, but a very incremental one. Not sure if it was there before but they seem to have added or updated the playback bar for videos.

Inside, the flex cables are connected with clip-on FPC connectors, which means the board is super easy to remove. Nothing is glued down — just some light adhesive around the edges of the shell.
My issue was the classic one: like many others, my right earbud stopped charging. Turned out the little copper plate that connects the earbud to the power was completely oxidized (last 2 photos). I cleaned it up — and boom, it works again.

Last week, I bought the Nothing Phone 3a on Amazon, and it seemed like the perfect deal for its price. However, my excitement has faded as I realize all the things I miss from my old Oppo A78, also I am especially disappointed with the Nothing Space feature, which has a limited AI service that no one mentioned before.
The main reasons I'm considering returning the phone are the Nothing Space feature itself, the awkward button placement (I keep accidentally pressing it, maybe because I have small hands), and the limited free subscription, which wasn’t disclosed anywhere—not even in the "Terms of Use" section.
Another factor is the Motorola Edge 50 Neo, which in my region is nearly 40€ cheaper, has a smaller screen, wireless charging, almost the same camera setup, and no misleading claims about AI services.
I also miss the ability to ask for the password when turning off the phone, even if it's unlocked (a theft prevention feature), as well as the option to move or delete multiple apps on the homepage at once or add several apps to a folder simultaneously, which I used to do with a simple two-finger pinch gesture. In addition, i think you cant pin an app to be able to run in the background so when you clear the RAM, some of them stay, instead of deleting one by one to be able to choose which ones you don't want. I used to have Spotify pinned because if I clear the RAM my music would stop.
These are just my personal thoughts on the phone and the reasons why I keep feeling that it may not be the best choice for me.

After I replied to Nothing saying they "didn't cleanly comunicate" the limits asking whare it was comunicated at all they gave me a rehashing of the same email instead of pointing twords whare they mentioned this limit. It really seems like they never gave us any warning that the thing we bought was designed to stop working.
