Just to put this out. Military retirement is something that starts years in advance. It's conversations with your family and unit at least two years before you plan on retiring, and once you're on that last year it's difficult to back out of it. Also the whole thing with,"he wasn't a SGM" is crap. He could have easily taken a reduction in rank because he already did his high three. Or maybe he was put in a SMG Position without being promoted and his unit dragged their feet after promising to promote him.
Yeah, Republicans fond of swiftboating because military service in their opponents runs counter to their laughable claims towards patriotism and supporting troops.
