Hi y'all, I recently moved here from Ontario and I visited a few bars last night - but most of them were pretty empty.

I'm 25, and I don't know which spots are the cool ones. I really liked Haven Music Hall but they don't seem to have many shows this month. Could anyone tell me where people normally hang out? Is there some other underground spots that might have a indie vibe?

Just wondering if any knows where the Howe Lake Landfill used to be? Howe lake seems to be on Sandy Point Road.. but I can’t seem to find where the landfill was. Also, does anyone know where these stones are hiding on Sandy Point rd? Looking to photograph them. Thanks!

3 seniors spending 3 days here late June mostly for geocaching, thinking about staying at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Saint John Harbour Side any thoughts?

Last night I was walking along the Rothesay road and a car drove past me and pulled over. It looked like they were on their phone, and then I saw them taking a picture of a house with a Wayne Long sign. They took off and pulled over again further down the street at another house with a Wayne Long sign. It was an older fella in a grey Honda Civic.

Anyone else see this happening?

I'm no fan of the Irvings or the factories, but these pictures make SJ look like a total shithole. I think they could have balanced it with some pictures of our beautiful uptown buildings or any of our amazing parks. Just saying...I feel like a defensive mom lol.

So last month when I was visiting Vancouver my friend had brought me to a restaurant where I tried something called "Tsukune" which was, essentially, turkey ball skewers. Truthfully it was one of the best tasting things I've ever eaten.

What I'm wondering is if anyone knows if there's a place in Saint John that has it as well?

The Playdates

For those of you who aren't on facebook or didn't know, about a decade ago or more, The Playdates were a band from Saint John. If you had been a part of the SJ music scene in the early 2000's you would probably remember them, or some members from their previous group, 16th Avenue.

While some of you may remember them, I'm sure there are many on here that do not. They had created some of the catchiest pop-rock music to come out of SJ (They even had one of their songs on Degrassi ) and they've recently uploaded all of their songs to Spotify. For myself, and many from that era of the SJ music scene, I find these songs super nostalgic and reminiscent of my youth and attending shows around the city.

Anyways, just figured I'd share for those who were unaware or for those who are interested! Also some links to some of their music videos!
