Does anyone feel terrible about their score?

I got a 1260 on the SAT which is an improvement from the SATs I've taken, but it feels like everyone in this subreddit has a 1400+. Most people that I've talked to in person have has similar or lower scores than me. I feel like mine is good and I'll be fine with it, but I've also been feeling a little bad about my score. I hate the sat and I don't want to take it again but I feel like I should be doing better. Does anyone else feel like this?

How do you improve your time?

My biggest issue is at the math second module, where i never have enough time. Most times i know how to solve all problems, but not in the allocated time. I also admit i lose a lot of time verifying my answer before going to the next problem. Any tips? Thanks.

Why do some students receive their scores with a blue background. Just curious 🤔

help!! first person in my family to give sats

i'm an international student and the first person in my entire family to be taking the SAT. I have no idea where to start and what to do as no one in my family has any resources or tips. please help me study and drop tips etc. the only competitive/board exam i've written were gcses so i have no idea how to start with as the structure and syllabus is a lot more different. i plan to give my first one in October though that's during my as level mocks. is that enough time and is it manageable with as level coursework as well?

4th Attempt! Retake was worth

If I have a 1550 superscore, is it worth it to spend time studying for a retake?

I took the August and November SAT and scored a 1520 both times. 770 reading 750 math and then 740 reading 780 math. Most of the schools I am interested in "consider" standardized test scores, according to their common dataset. But there's no denying that a 1580 score is a level better than a 1520. I'm worried that my score isn't high enough compared to the other kids at my school, who have 1580s in one sitting! (My school is an absolutely cracked huge public school.)

If they're my immediate competition, do you think I should study hard for the coming weeks and retake it to try and get a higher score? Or, should I dedicate that time towards my extracurriculars and AP classes?

Does anyone have any tips on how to improve? Is it just practice tests at this point?

My goal is a 50 point increase for each of the next tests I take

Asking for Study Advices/Motivation

I am a soph in high school (us) and I am struggling with preparing for the SAT. I have been going to C2 since August and took 3 practice tests there. The first one I got before the sessions was 1290, the second was 1130 (3 months in), the third was 1360 (December), the fourth one was 1290 (took it on 4/4). I feel really bad since I am back to square one yet again after half an year and 7k dollars being spent on C2. My parents are obviously unhappy about this and said that they will not care about my future any more. Between December and now, I have studied (not intensively) and gone to English tutoring sessions once a week. Initially, I tried to study and try my best to keep up with 30 minutes/day on the SAT but quickly ran out of steam and forgot it altogether. I am wondering if there is any resources and study planners so I can keep being on track while not being burnt out.

SAT School Day In Uniform

I guess this is a good problem to have but my school is making us take the SAT in our uniforms. It's not a big deal, but I just find it kind of difficult to lock in for 2 hours while I'm in a dress shirt, tie, and khakis. Is it worth appealing to my school?

What should I start with?

I'm taking my third trial in May, and I really want it to be my last. I did all Khan Academy for the Math section except the last four units, and I wanna take my first practice test on Bluebook. Should I finish them first or just go right ahead? Because I also wanna have time to practice and I'm taking another different test in April.

How to do well on math section (no BS guide)

I got a 750 on math and I’ll try to be short. Went from 640 math on PSAT (10th) math to 750 math on sat

  1. Yes, you can study the day before, math isn’t that hard tbh if you know what you’re doing
  2. Use desmos like there’s no tomorrow
  3. Map out the question if you need to on a sheet of paper, mainly helps with geometry
  4. If you can, intuitively understand it. Difficult to do tbh but you can achieve this in a few months
  5. Find what sections you did bad on. Hone in on these and really study formulas.
  6. Practice. There’s not much else but yeah practice.
  7. Take the SAT multiple times. Nobody else will say this but it’s true. I took the SAT 3 times and each time I improved without practicing very much.
  8. For geometry I really improved by learning all the basic concepts. There’s really not much to it, just sin+cos+tan, angles and their relations and some other stuff.
  9. Watch videos from the YouTube channel LearnSATMath. If you’re gonna ignore anything, do not ignore this one. This guy is honestly the goat.

I need help

I recently took the sat and scored a 1280. Its not bad but its also not that good, i have one month left for the May sat i already started studying again i did a practice test yesterday and its practiced questions from the question bank today. So my question is how can i increase my score by at least 120 points.

What does the SAT exam consist of exactly?

I am a student abroad who has no clue what SAT is exactly. I've seen schools require scores from it, however I do not know what the exam concludes. As far as I know it has 40 questions about math and 40 questions about reading passages and pick the most suitable choice, but that can't be right because that would mean 20 points per question, meaning scores that cant be divided by 20 wouldn't exist. Is there anything beyond that? And what is this SAT2 thing I've seen about? Are there any sections about writing instead of just reading?

Sorry for such an elementary question, I have no experience in international things and wanted to ask about it.

How to study for SAT

Okey so I am an international student and I will sit for the sat exams in 6-7 months. Currently by just taking a practice test without properly studying I am scoring a 600 in English and 620 in Math. How should I study (i am quite lost) in order to prepare as I would like a higher score. Thank you!

Is super score a real thing?

Some people said it isn’t and others said it is.

r/Sat 2d ago

this is ur reminder that your score doesn’t define you, none of it will matter a few years from now

title :)

i see most of you stressing all the time, maybe pressure from parents, etc, i just wanna say it’ll all work out for the better, it always does. just have faith and you’ll get to where you want to be, paths are forged, not defined. anyway good luck for those if you still planning to test!

Using Chat GPT while taking the SAT

My daughter is in 11th grade and took the SAT at school today. She said that a lot of the kids had their phones out and were using Chat GPT for answers during the test. Aren’t phones supposed to be put away during the test? She said the teacher proctoring the exam said it was College Board’s problem, not his. She told the front office, but she doesn’t think they will do anything about it.

Is this common now?

Locking in for the SAT?

Does anyone else feel like their scores are so variable depending on their mood? I was getting low 700s on the practice test last, so I decided to study more with Khan Academy the question bank (where I was getting them mostly correct). I felt pretty good about my English so I took another and I end with a 650. I used a different DSAT as well which might’ve played a role. Does anyone have any tips for this??
